OVERVIEW

Ideal for the player looking for the darker and more dynamic tone of solid rosewood.

The D10 belongs to Cordoba's new Acero Series, a line of all-solid steel strings approached from a classical or Spanish guitar building perspective. Most notably, Cordoba is using an integrated neck joint or Spanish Heel instead of a traditional dovetail joint to join the body and neck of the guitar. This method of construction offers a lighter weight and more stable heel joint that increases resonance and is less prone to movement as the guitar ages. The bracing pattern is a hybrid of a Torres-style Spanish fan pattern and X-bracing, and allows the top to move freely with an explosive attack and big, dark tone.

The D10 dreadnought appeals to the player looking for the darker, and more dynamic tone that is typically associated with solid rosewood back and sides. The D10 also features a solid Engelmann spruce top for added clarity along with a beautiful ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge and binding. The styling is refined and sleek, using Acacia wood on the double ring rosette and 12th fret fingerboard inlays, capped off with Cordoba's signature elevated headstock with a rosewood strip and mother-of-pearl inlay. The finish is a thinly applied high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Other features include a TUSQ nut and saddle, gold Grover tuners, Elixir NANOWEB Light Gauge (.012-.053) strings, and a Cordoba deluxe archtop wood case with built-in HumiCase humidification.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D10 Acoustic Guitar:

Absolutely amazing guitar for the money! I was looking at Taylor Breedlove and Martin for under $1800 and I am so happy that I chose the Cordoba d-10.

I was skeptical at first because of it being an import. But construction is solid and the finish is beautiful.

You can't beat the price for a solid wood guitar with rosewood back and sides.

The sound is incredible to the point that I would put it right up there with Breedlove, Taylor or Martin.

Awesome Low end that just growls and great projection. Couldn't be happier with the purchace.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D10 Acoustic Guitar:

My guitar has Milky finish on the side between the upper and lower bout. The tuning machines are pinned down haphazardly. The D and G pegs are so much out of alignment with the other pegs that they will need to be removed and remounted in a straight line. The top on my sample is clearly not AAA spruce. There is an unattractive knot just below the sound hole, and there is uneven color variation of the top that is not seen on better quality woods. All that being said, this guitar feels great to play and it sounds fantastic. The action is good, the fretwork is decent, and for the price I paid, you can't find another solid wood guitar with these specifications. I find it unfortunate that these guitars were discontinued. I'm sure that many of these guitars came out of the factory without the problems I found with my guitar. If this guitar were still available new, I would exchange it for another. Under the circumstances I will fix the tuners and enjoy the guitar for its great sound and easy playing neck, and try to ignore the minor cosmetic flaws. After all a guitar is really about how it feels to play, and how it sounds.Looks are secondary.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D10 Acoustic Guitar:

I own a growing collection of acoustic guitars, from low to high end, but I suppose there's no such thing as too many guitars. So I gave myself an Acero D10 as a Christmas present. None of the music stores in my area had it in stock so I just had to take the chance and order it over the internet, after watching some reviews online. After playing it for a couple of weeks, I have to say that this guitar is way beyond my expectations. I am very impressed by its rich, well-balanced sound, with bright trebles but also booming bass, excelent sustain and projection. The look is very classy, simple and elegant. Playing mostly fingerstyle, I also appreciate the slightly wider neck of 1.80", which is hard to find from other manufacturers. Yes, it is made overseas, hence the very affordable price, but I could simply not find any manufacturing flaw, even though I tried very hard. The action came a little high but I could easily adjust it using the included wrench. Overall a great guitar, making it to the elite group in my collection, right beside my Taylor 414 and Martin D35.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D10 Acoustic Guitar:

I wanted to check out the Spanish construction on a steel string guitar and so I got one of the scratch and dent lesser priced Córdoba Acero D10 guitars. It was in price range where most other options are laminate not solid wood. I can't even tell where the scratches are being far sighted I don't think there are any scratches and it plays perfectly so I am lucky. Since there is no pick guard I am challenging myself to keep it scratch free by picking clean. Of particular note is an extra level of dynamics you get when you dig in some lesser guitars would max out without that extra level of reserve "acoustic overdrive". Gone beyond on this one!

Comments about Cordoba Acero D10 Acoustic Guitar:

I own a couple of acoustic guitars, this one has a different sound, very balanced tone and beautiful instrument, hardshell case is a plus!. Got compliments of the sound and projection of the guitar. Service customer also was contacted and responded in a quickly manner. Get one if you can, as this is a solid wood guitar at a great price.
