OVERVIEW

All the advantages of Spanish guitar building applied to a full-size steel-string.

The D11-CE is the top of Cordoba’s Acero Series guitars, a line of all-solid steel strings approached from a classical or Spanish guitar building perspective. Most notably, Cordoba is using an integrated neck joint or “Spanish Heel” instead of a traditional dovetail joint to join the body and neck of the guitar. This method of construction offers a lighter weight and more stable heel joint that increases resonance and is less prone to movement as the guitar ages. The bracing pattern is a hybrid of a Torres-style Spanish fan pattern and X-bracing, and allows the top to move freely with an explosive attack and rich resonant tone.

The D11-CE dreadnought features all-solid acacia for the back and sides which give it a clear, bright tone, and distinctive figured appearance. The D11-CE also features a solid Sitka spruce top along with a beautiful ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge and binding. The styling is refined and sleek, using acacia wood on the double ring rosette and 12th fret fingerboard inlays, capped off with Cordoba’s signature elevated headstock with an acacia strip and mother-of-pearl inlay. The finish is a thinly applied high gloss polyurethane. The D11-CE also comes with the Acoustic Fidelity System II (AFS), Cordoba’s new proprietary pickup that offers both piezo and mic blending capabilities. Other features include a tusq nut and saddle, gold Grover tuners, Elixir NANOWEB Light Gauge (.012-.053) strings, and a Cordoba deluxe archtop wood case with built-in HumiCase humidification.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11-CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Too bad Cordoba Acero didn't sell well enough to stay alive. The D11 CE plays and sound as good as any guitar I have played or heard just acoustically or plugged in. I also have an Acero D 10 and and find it to play and sound the same, but without the electronics or the cut away. I like 1.8" nut. My big fingers enjoy the slightly greater width. Both are keepers for sure.

This is my comment to the previous review.
Your battery is DEAD. You talk about everything but changing the battery. CHANGE THE BATTERY. Then put the guitar in the washing machine and wash it out with soap.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11-CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i really did like the guitar. it did sounds good when it was plugged in the bad thing is that the electronics started to mess up after playing for about 2 hours and I would unplug it wait 30 minutes plug it in and I did not get any sound at all,, just a feed back type sound; i changed my cables tried a few different amp and still the same. I tried it again the next day and the same thing happened again..i also had a problem with the battery box the cable for the 9 volt is so long that I know it will cause a problem later it should be the type of battery box that you just put the battery into and close it because even now putting the battery in with that long wire what do you do. it is so long does it go in first or on the side of the battery any way you do it the cable gets kinked up. the cable jack to plug it in is on the battery box and it was not working to good it seemed just a little hard to plug into it the plug was a little to tight or something just did not feel right.. all that said I still liked the guitar. the neck being a 1.8 nut size was a real good fit. the action or set up was real good right out of the box. the sound of the guitar was a little soft but was still a good sound unplugged and it did sound real good when it was plugged in and working.. all in all I did end up sending it back because it did not work when plugged in and I do think that when you pay good money for a guitar it should have a lot better battery box and a better way to plug in the guitar, that area of the guitar could have been better done.. now the question of would I recommend the guitar I would like to say yes I just haven't had a chance to play it long enough to say that but the guitar had a lot going for it
