OVERVIEW

An ode to classic Spanish guitar design with an integrated neck joint and special bracing pattern for a lightweight, long-lasting acoustic.

The D9 dreadnought features the classic combination of a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, giving it a warm and balanced sound great for all musical styles. It also has a beautiful rosewood bridge, mahogany binding and rosewood fingerboard. The styling is refined and sleek, using acacia wood for the rosette and 12th fret fingerboard inlays, capped off with Cordoba's signature elevated headstock with a mahogany overlay. The finish is a thinly applied high gloss polyurethane. Other features include a TUSQ nut and saddle, chrome Grover tuners, Elixir NANOWEB Light Gauge (.012-.053) strings, and a Cordoba deluxe archtop wood case with built-in HumiCase humidification.

The D9 is the first of Cordoba's new Acero Series, a line of boutique, all-solid steel strings approached from a classical or Spanish guitar building perspective. Most notably, Cordoba is using an integrated neck joint or "Spanish Heel" instead of a traditional dovetail joint to join the body and neck of the guitar. This method of construction offers a lighter weight and more stable heel joint that increases resonance and is less prone to movement as the guitar ages. The bracing pattern is a hybrid of a Torres style Spanish fan pattern and X-bracing, and allows the top to vibrate openly with an explosive attack and warm, sweet tone.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D9 Acoustic Guitar:

I was in the market for a new guitar. I had to have an all solid and wanted to find one under 800 which is not the easiest thing to do. I had pretty much decided to go with a Blueridge which was going to cost over 600 (without a case). I happen to see the Cordoba on the Stupid Deal of the Day. It came with a case and was only 300. I immediately bought it and then immediately regretted the decision AT FIRST. I just figured that something would be inferior about an all solid wood guitar for that price. But then it arrived and.....WOW!!!!!! This is a great guitar for 3 hundred and the best thing is that it would be a great guitar for 8 hundred too. This baby is loud and has a rich, prolonged ring. The Elixir strings that came with it sound great. Plus, the HumiCase that comes with it is worth over 100 by itself. Seems like it stays in tune forever!! The nut is a bit wider than most acoustics but it isn't too difficult to adjust to. I could sell and easily make a couple hundred, but I want to keep this thing for myself. If you are in the market for a new guitar and aren't a brand snob, you will not be disappointed with this guitar.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D9 Acoustic Guitar:

I've played several all solid wood guitars, but this is the first I've owned. Did research for months about finding something of good quality at a good price. Had decided on another brand until I saw this on the Stupid Deal of the Day. Love this thing. It is LOUD and the tone just seems to carry and carry. And it stays in tune really well. I really like the Elixir strings that came with it, but I'm curious to try out some others. If you want to go off the beaten path and try a guitar that isn't so mainstream (Marting, Taylor, etc) then I would definitely recommend this. You will not be disappointed.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D9 Acoustic Guitar:

I have been looking for a all hard wood acoustic for a while that was affordable. This one I think I got for a steal with the Deal. I was worried about it being made in China, but it seems very solidly built. I like the difference in the tone because of the Spanish guitar influence in the design. Great all wood from a good company at a great price. Win, win, win...

Comments about Cordoba Acero D9 Acoustic Guitar:

Ordered as a SDOD this is an incredible value. I have been playing and collecting guitars for about thirty years. I play the classic 'A' list guitars like Gibson SJ200, Martin HD28 and my primary genre is singer/songwriter where there is a lot of open chords and finger picking. This guitar has an extremely warm, rich full tone with the included Elixir stings. I have temporarily packed away the 'A' list guitars as I can't put this down. It also comes with a gorgeous hard-shell case. I highly recommend this guitar.
