Cutaway for high-fret access and electrified to fit in at any jam session.
Based on the Cordoba C5, the C5-CEBK acoustic electric guitar features a soft cutaway and a slightly thinner neck for comfortable and smooth play up and down the fingerboard. The Cordoba Precision 3-band pickup system produces a rich and natural sound when amplified, and also includes an on board tuner for quick and easy tuning. Whether plugged in or played acoustically, the solid red cedar top and 5 fan bracing system give the guitar full and robust tone, with great sustain and clarity between the bass and treble strings. The back and sides are made from African mahogany and the fingerboard is rosewood. Other handmade refinements include a hand inlaid wood rosette, rosewood binding, bridge, headstock veneer, and heel cap.
For a nice price, these completely handmade nylon-string guitars have comfortable playing action and warm, resonant sound. My Five star rating reflects the overall value of the guitar which in my opinion is priced below it's class. I have been looking for an electric Classical for a few months and personally tried most all in the local Guitar Stores. Yamaha, Ibanez and Taylor. Bought the Black C5-CE after playing the dark stained version. The body size, neck size, beauty and overall playability were the features that sold me. I wanted a wider neck (but not the widest) so I may learn more classical picking without hitting multiple strings that some of the newer thinner neck versions had. The warm tones created with Cedar top and Mahagony back and sides, along with the true bone nut and saddle capped it for me; and seeing a review on Youtube of the beautiful black version, I was sold and bought on line unseen. Ordered with a 15% holiday coupon from Musicians Friend and it arrived in perfect condition within 3 business days. (great gig bag included too) I've been fan of Fishman already; and their Isys+ with tuner is right on and sounds wonderful thorough my Berringer ACX1800.The value of this guitar far exceeds the cost and with the extra Holiday 15% and free shipping I am very pleased- Highly recommended.
