C5 Is Grrreat

Features:

It's a classical guitar with all the features required to make it so.  It's exactly as advertised.

Quality:

The finish is top notch, the intonation isn't dead on perfect (except on two of the strings), but I only know that because I tested it, but it's close enought that I don't hear any stray sharps or flats.  The neck on mine appears to be cut from a solid piece of mahogany, there are not decernible areas of lamination, which is great with me.  The only real concern is the stings seem to have some rough edges on the clear treble units, but I'm not sure if that's normal or not for the brand that's on it, nevertheless, the strings sound great and the action is set just right so they don't buzz no matter how hard you hit them.

Value:

Solid cedar top with everything needed to learn how to play classical guitar.  The tone sounds really good, much better than any other in this price range.  You can't beat the price, I chose this over the cheaper C3M because the C5 has a more expensive looking finish and comes with a nice gig bag.

Overall:

It is what it claims to be and it looks and sounds beautiful, what more could you ask for?

I bought the Cordoba C5 two years ago, and I have enjoyed it ever since. The tone is great, and it is definitely worth buying. The Cordoba will beat any guitar in its price range, and it looks much better too. The only problem I have is that the inlays are not on the fretboard, but on the side of the fretboard, and I sometimes get mixed up. Another problem is one day, when I walked into my house, the bridge had come off. Luckily I was still on my 1 year warrantee. Get a humidifier.

The C5's Achille's Heel

Overall:
My C5 was received 4 years ago. I enjoyed the guitar very much, it was above-and-beyond good-looking for the price, and its sound was warm-semi-bright and projected well. At the end of last year I upgraded my strings for more serious classical guitar study...later in the same week I came home to a fully separated bridge. The glue was intact; the wood itself gave way with some wood fibers stuck to the glue on the bridge. I miss the guitar. I actually want to send it to a luthier to have it repaired...or I may just buy another one. My advice to any who want to get this guitar: if you live in dry/arid climates, get a HUMIDIFIER for the guitar case...this probably might have saved my guitar. P.S. mine was made in Portugal.
