First off I'd like to say quality control is all there except for the cosmedics. At this price though for a first guitar or just a tad smaller one it's a great deal. My wife, band mates and I all agree this little titian sounds better than my $450 Alverez with no electronics. Not that $450 is alot of money when it comes to acoustic guitars but its gives you a good idea of just how good its tone is. more laterPlayability: It plays great even with my large hands. Stays in tune!!! 18/1 Grovers & D'Addario EXP strings to match you can't go wrong. No fret buzz at all with the slightly smaller gauge strings. Intonation was accurate within 2cent wow. The daisy inlays seem larger in person than in the picture. Thats kinda hard to adapt to for a 25yr player like me but I feel its a good thing for a beginner though. The shallow body is great!! I even find that a nice thing to have as well. The rounded back helps alot with holding it in position. AH listen man. This thing plays great I'm simply amazed!Tone: Wow is all I can say. For this price you can't go wrong with that. I'm sure the EXP strings help with that cause they are top notch strings that I use myself. Projection of the tone is low however due to the shallow body and composite back, but wait! It does have electronics to cure that if you so desire to make it loud. For the beginner thats great though cause it makes it harder to disturb others while learning to play.Durability: Well lets just put it up against an all wood guitar in a smash up contest and see who obviously wins that. This is my 10yr old daughters first REAL guitar. She has two siblings as well so I already know what this thing is up against which makes the composite back a real big plus. When people ask what to get in a first guitar I always tell them get one that stays in tune. I know if you don't play guitar this seems like alot of money to spend but believe me it's worth every penny even if not for a first guitar. When learning to play its crucial to have something that sounds good when first getting it played right. It keeps their interest!!! Very important there. Stays in tune plus no fret buzz and intonation is all there. The smaller size makes it much easier for smaller hands period. Sounds great! Truely remarkable I wish they made them for boys as well. I'D GET ONE!If this is for someone starting out all thats left needed is determination. Help, patience, and funding from you along the way WILL be needed. If they want it they will get it with this guitar! Hey man if they give up you can always get $100 back out of it and help another beginner out right. Go for it its awsome!

We had initially ordered from another company (won't mention their name but they claim to have the "best buy"(s). Although they processed the order, they didn't bother to mention that the item was back ordered. We only stumbled on that tidbit of information on our own- they never bothered to call us and tell us that our order might not arrive until February or March! A Christmas present... in March!?!?
Thankfully we called Musician's Friend. The sales associate spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me to make sure that we would get the item we wanted before Christmas. The price was fantastic; the guitar arrived EARLY and in perfect condition. The look on my daughter's face was absolutely priceless!
By the way- this is the second guitar that we bought from Musician's Friend. Our experience with that previous purchase was EXCELLENT as well- I won't make the mistake of using a different company in the future.
Cannot thank you enough for saving my daughter's Christmas.
I WILL DEFINITELY SHOP WITH MUSICIAN'S FRIEND IN THE FUTURE.
I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO A FRIEND!
Perfectly sized for my 8 year old daughter- and it is comfortable for my wife to play, too. Fantastic sound.

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought the blueberry burst one. I had it for four months now and I'm completely satisfied with it. The widest portion of guitar ie. lower bout, is less than 14" wide and it's less than 3" thick I think. So it's a smaller, comfortable guitar to play and I put away my dreadnought yamaha fg700s and play the pixie instead.

The frets are leveled and they might be stainless steel because they are barely worn. I go thru nickel frets like nothing. Strap buttons are awesome. I play this guitar unplugged and it sounds super great with capo on the second fret. It also helps aleviate the small string spacing at the nut by moving the nut down the neck. At 12th fret the neck is 55mm wide and at nut it's 40mm. It has a agressive fretboard taper. Probably good for finger picking by giving you more string space at the bridge. Tuners are awesome. Basically, the whole guitar is great. The only thing I wish it had was less rounded edges as it slides off my thigh easily, ie. plastic being slippery. The guitar played unplugged does have great volume. It has nice low action and no fret buzz. I have it next to me at my desk so I can pick it up and play whenever. Very happy and would buy it again. Great value.

        I was surprised

        By Michael Ugrin

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ignore the girlishness, do yourself a favour and go buy one. Use it to record so you don't embarass yourself playing it live, or just paint it! It sounds awesome, and is a joy to play.
This little guitar is an anomoly. I had a gift card in hand, and I was looking for a cheap guitar to buy just for fun. I was walking through the acoustic section, and the pink sparkles of this Daisy Rock caught my eye. I kind of laughed as I picked it up to play it and noticed the small price. But once I played it a little while, I was blown away. For the price and the cosmetics of this guitar, it has a tone that will shock you. It keeps a perfect tune, sounds really clear and consistant and plays like a much much more expensive guitar would.
The guitar feels good to play. If you ignore the girly and childish looks of it, you'll realize it really is a well-built instrument.
Value couldn't be better. Built-in pickup and EQ together make a really nice sound, you get more than you pay for.

        my daughter's dream guitar

        By jhwlaw

        from NC

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is not going to compete with a Taylor or most other solid/solid top guitars. That said, my daughter loves it. She saved her own money for a guitar and when she was ready to purchase, she chose this. The reason was simply that the smaller body and slim neck felt better to her than the other guitars she tried and considered(big baby Taylor, Breedlove Passport & Seagull slim were a few). Sound quality was not a factor, playability was. The fact that it is blue and has a pickup cemented the choice. Now she is excited to practice and seems to be progressing rapidly.Fit and finish on the guitar are as expected. Composite round back, laminate top. There are a couple of "blemishes" on the top and binding, but they are noticable only on close inspection. The neck really is much slimmer than a standard guitar. Great for my 9 year old or other small hands. Elctronics are ok, but feedback at moderate volumes. A note about Musician's Friend. They were wonderful with transaction. They matched another merchant price and had it in my daughter's hands within 3 days. I have been shopping with them for 16 years and will continue to make them my 1st choice when shopping mail order.

        Nice acoustic-electric

        By Eliza

        from san francisco

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have the acoustic-electric bass from this line, and it is a fine playable little bass. Very nice for small hands. And a very pretty instrument. I was not sure what to expect in the way of sound quality, given the plastic back, but it sounds really good. The built-in tuner does not seem to be entirely sane, so I do recommend buying a little hand-held tuner rather than relying on the onboard tuner. Everything else is great. Really fine quality instrument for the price.

        great starter guitar

        By Welcome Aboard

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have very small hands and a petite frame, so I was instantly drawn to this guitar. While the plastic backing isn't as pretty as other wooden acoustics, it provides a weightless guitar body that is very playable. The guitar stays in tune very well, but I'd suggest buying a spare tuner as a back up. Another cosmetic con is that the finish scratches easily so be cautious when strumming with a pick. Overall, nice sound and quality.

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I looked and looked from Florida to Tennesse for this guitar and finally, I found her. I love playing and it's a huge step from my nylon string, the only problem I have is after awhile the B string gets twangy. Other than that I love. People come up to me a lot, I love your guitar's color! She's a show stopper for sure and I love the on-board tuner. Sounds great to, easy to play totally recommend.

Great guitar for the beginner or stage performer

        By Smurf E

        from Prairieville, LA

Comments about Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar for my 10 year old step daughter. I wanted a quality guitar for her to learn on. I had been looking for a Taylor Big Baby after playing a friends but every local shop was out of them. After looking on the net I was referred to Daisy Rock Rock Guitars. The claims of the quality of these instruments are on the money. When I opened the box, I initially was a little disappointed at the plastic back panel of this guitar but after tuning up and strumming a few chords I had changed my mind. It sounds great. Full tone. A little light in volume due to 3/4 size and thinner body. The built in tuner is tough to get used to but works very well. It is very touchy. Plugged into an amp it is true sweetness. Great tone and stays in tune period! I recommend this guitar to any lady and actually any guy with smaller hands. It is a joy to play. I am very pleased with the purchase and am glad I bought this guitar over the Taylor.
