Favorite Guitar

By Susan SurfTone

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and I've owned a lot of guitars. My DRG Rock Candy has the most comfortable neck I've ever played. The guitar's tone is great. I played it at a live show and received many compliments on the guitar's overall appearance. I was more than satisifed with the Rock Candy's performance and was confident that I'd turn in a good show with the Rock Candy in my hands. My DRG Rock Candy is my number one guitar for sure.

Awesome rock guitar for an awesome price!

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I don't know what I'd do without my Daisy Rock Rock Candy Guitar. The one in the picture is just pink, but the one I have is a rainbow sparkle and that's exactly what it does! Under the stage lights it shines and it makes me shine. I'd recommend this guitar to anyone who's getting their first electric guitar or their hundredth! The only problem I have ever had with the rock candy guitar was that the action came too high, but I just took it to a guitar tech and it's a very easy and cheap fix... you'd think that you're playing something worth thousands. If you're wondering what guitar to buy don't go any further. This one is it!

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar for a novelty laugh at a local guitar shop a while ago and was suprised immensely by its play-ability and sound. It's suprised me with it's speed. I noticed that the pickups on the guitar are brilliant for dropped tunings, (drop D, C, and B), when combined with a very gainy amp. All said and done, nothin' beats busting out riffs on a guitar that looks suited for a preteen girl.

This Is A Great Guitar

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar, as my review name says. I love this guitar to death. mainly because my mom gave it to me when she never realy did any thing else for me, as in she didn't konw what to give to a musician daughter, breaking the mold. And it is my first electric guitar. I loved it then. Imagine how much I love it now. After I have had a few years to fully appreciate the sound of this guitar, I love it even more. PLease try this guitar. I see this as a tribute to my mother when I flaunt this guitars beauty. I do this because I haven't really been able to do anything else for her, so this is my tribute. And the only thing I think I am capable of doing is reviewing this guitar in honor of my mother. please please try this guitar out. love this guitar

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I own the sparkle rainbow guitar. Let me just tell you that this guitar is worth what you pay for it. It has grover tuners so it stays in tune good. The duncan designed pickups make for a great sound. And being a girl....I absolutely LOVE the looks of the guitar. The picture does not do it justice. If you like things that sparkle this guitar is for you!

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I purchased this for my fiance who has recently shown an interest in playing guitar. I was skeptical at first (the price point wasn't the issue as I have several "affordable" guitars that will rock your socks off), mostly because it seemed like a gimmick to sell guitars to girls. Well I was WRONG, and kudos to daisy rock to get girls playing. I purchased mine used level 2 plus the labor day discount,(now I have to say when it arrived it WAS NOT level 2, much much lower, the stock Grover's were not on the guitar and the wiring looked like a monkey soldered the pots back in quick to sell it, the coil tap was even missing!). I phoned MF immediately regarding the issues and my rep Tim was Awesome! We came to the arrangement that he would ship me out the tuners Gratis and I would redo the wiring (no real biggie, I've been doing it for over 15 years anyway). So all said and done put together the way it should have been, plus a nice set up by me, this guitar is a real beast! Honestly the tone is great (Seymour Doesn't make bad stuff, even his over seas pickups are nice). The guitar is light, well balanced and the neck is smooth, thin and fast! The satin finish was a real nice touch on Daisy Rock's part. Played through my Fender Deluxe Reverb, or My Vox NT50H this thing really comes alive. It may be pink and it may sparkle, but it sure does growl! Honestly if you have a daughter, niece, wife, GF etc... that is interested in guitar this is a great starting point. Or if you are just a dude, comfortable in your own masculinity that wants to rock the pink sparkle paul, have at it, this guitar is well built, great tone and at a very very reasonable price point. If they made higher end models that weren't quite so pink or sparkly I would definitely consider one, just based on the build quality. Oh and don't let the Sycamore body fool you (SOO many comments on this VS Mahogany) it sounds pretty much the same, not enough of a sonic difference that anyone other than Snobs will notice or even care for that matter. Two thumbs up to Daisy Rock for a quality instrument that Im sure my girl will love and to MF for being awesome to their customers and making things right. Rock on good people.

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I really like this guitar. I collect guitars, and it is something I am glad I got. Diamond Sparkle is the color I got. It is HOT. I love this guitar. My friend think it looks a little flashy, but they cannot belive the tone I get out of this thing. They couldn't believe that it sounded good playing rock, metal, and all those other kinds of music. They said "Dude, I couldn't picture that guitar making that metal, rock sound" So, yeah, good guitar. check it out.

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

This is a cool guitar. I suggest this guitar over the Daisy Rock Heartbreaker Bass that I reviewed. It is good for country, but it would also be good for Rock/Metal. I would think it would be awesome for a metal god to have this guitar in his/her guitar collection(I bet some of them do, it is their dirty secret) I really do think this guitar is up with all those other exspensive guitars, maybe better in some cases. But, yeah cool guitar, good pickups, good everything. Check it out.

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar new for my daughter in 2009 on sale for $150, and since then it?s blown me away. It sounds amazing through my Peavey Classic VT 212 & Fender Hot Rod Deville 410. The neck is fast and the guitar is relatively light. The body has a really nice, almost ergonomic shape and the Grovers keep it in tune. I was a bit skeptical how the Duncan Designed humbuckers would sound (I have them on another guitar of mine & they suck), but the Daisy Rock pickups sound niiice. The push-pull switch on the bridge pickup is a great feature. It's been a blast experimenting with the single-coils and the humbuckers. Tone pots would be nice, but by rolling the volume up or down I can get different tones out of the amp. I wish my daughter would play it more often, but at least I?m having a good time playing this ridiculously pink guitar! For the price and just in general this is a great little guitar.

After my first show with it...

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

Let me first say I waited 3 months to own this thing. Im a guy, and this guitar is hot! Ive been playing on Les Pauls for the last 6 years and have been playing for 10. So this is a real big move for me. Once I got it home, i noticed that i seem to need to crank the machine heads like crazy just to get them to make a difference in the note. And when it does finally make a difference its WAY too much. Also, when performing, you tend to give your strings a bit of a beating. However, the strings seem to slip off the bridge, something Ive never seen before, and caused me alot of problems tonight as I performed. My only other concern is the finish, seems to wear and chip easy. My pick gave it a pretty good scratch earlier. Im kinda bummed about it.This guitar has an amazingly fat tone. It sounds great and feels great on the hands, due to its slimmer neck. It has some amazing features that you should definelty check out!

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

You know, this guitar is a very good guitar. Sometimes I like the pink, but sometimes I don't. People think I am very girly when they first see it . But, I keep it for the sound. I don't care what my fans say( OR BAND MEMBERS) They still like my guitar. Sometimes I have to fight to play my OWN guitar. My friends, my family, my band members. I really like the tone this guitar puts out. It really is great for the $$$$$$$$$. This guitar is totally reliable for gigging, but, like I say about all guitars. Keep a backup. Problems can happen with the best of guitars. Pickups failing, strings breaking, all that Jazz. It is very good for all kinds of music. I reach for this one alot. I actually hope to get another one for my backup on stage. And, because this one is very special. I love this one to death. I would be very upset if it got stolen!!!!!!Or broken, or scratched, or something.BUY THIS GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OR, TRY IT OUT,AT LEAST!!!!!!!!

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I am an active musician who owns now 7 guitars including LTD's, Epiphones, Jacksons, and a prs CE maple top. I am a tone junky, and believe me, this guitar is up to par with all those other guitars. When I picked this axe up I did so beacuse of the finish, the pink looks awesome! Right after buying it, I had emg 81 and 85's installed, and let me tell you this guitar is a monster. The guitar itself gets a great sustain, the pickups are made by duncan and are decent, but I would recomend switching them out for either emg actives, emg hz's or actual seymour duncans. Do this and you will not be dissapointed one bit. The neck feels great, and is slightly shorter than most other guitars so its much easier to shred on, the action is great, and it is extremely light, which for my kind of music we move around alot so it is awesome.

    Daisy Rock Rocks!

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

What a great guitar! I've been playing for several years and have played Fenders, Gibsons, Epiphones, and Yamahas. Daisy Rock definitely holds its own! Two humbuckers plus a push/pull tone control give this instrument a lot of tonal versatility. It would be great for any manner of rock, be it classic or punk. I've always loved Epiphone and Gibson Les Pauls, but lately I've been picking my Rock Candy over them! This is my second Daisy Rock and I love this company. The Rock Candy's neck is slimmer than most other guitars and is great for small hands. It was set up pretty well right out of the box. Plus I love the atomic pink finish!

    Great Guitar

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

For the money, this guitar is awesome. It's slim neck makes playing easy and the push/pull tone control gives it quite a bit of versatility. The Duncan Designed pick-ups are high quality and adaptable to a wide range of musical styles. With Grover tuners and a well-applied sparkly finish (the atomic pink is totally hot), the quality of the Rock Candy cannot be beat by other guitars in this pice range. Weight is balanced well - this guitar is not top-heavy! Would make a wonderful first guitar as well as a nice addition to a more advanced arsenal. For the record, I am a female musician and the idea of a "girl guitar" was a little off-putting at first. I assumed that they couldn't be well-made or sound good. I purchased a Retro-H at a local shop because it blew me away and the Rock Candy came shortly thereafter. My main guitars up to that point were Epiphone and Gibson Les Pauls.

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for a year, and it is awesome, pink sparkle Except, now I wish I had gotten diamond sparkle. No big deal, tho. It's great for all kinds of music, rock, metal, alternative, jazz, even country. I love it ran thru a fender amp, but it sounds good on peaveys, marshalls, and vox too. Lot's of raw tone. I liked the pickups right from the box. The push/pull coil tap gives you lot's of sound range. I recorded Metallica's Wherever I May Roam, and it sounded like the studio recording. I also recorded Avenged Sevenfold Radiant Eclipse thru a fender amp, and it sounded like the recording too. It does have schecter like quality. I would compare it to schecter, totally. I can almost picture a schecter guitar when I close my eyes and hear this guitar played. Good guitar for the money, like I said. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

I was looking to get a guitar for my daughter. This is the one I bought for her I was really saprised at how well it looked. I have been playing for 23 years and I have to admit when I got it and hooked it up it sounded very good. I played this guitar for about an hour before wrapping it up for christmas. I only wish that I would have had a guitar with this type of action and sustain when I started to play. I would not even compare this to my Ibanez Jem 7 but it does hold its own. Very well contructed and ease of play are a plus. Only draw back was it sounded a little tinty. Overall a great choice for beginner to intermediate players.

Comments about Daisy Rock Rock Candy Electric Guitar:

This is a very good guitar for any style of music. I use it with the Digitech Death Metal distortion, Boss DS-1, and the Dunlop Crybaby. It puts out a killer tone. I replaced the original humbuckers with a set of Seymor Duncan Alinco II Pro Pickups, and it sounds AWESOME!! It plays as good as a Gibson SG. It is really easy to reach the upper frets. I would recommend this guitar for anybody playing any style of music. It's really a great guitar.
