The guitar arrived right on time. Beautiful case with the D'Angelico Logo on the case [so a thief will know what's inside]

Have several high-end Acoustic-Electrics.

The guitar came as 'set-up' by most standards, very playable, don't know the strings. I planed 1/8" off the saddle and 1st string now 3/64th from string and top of 12th fret. That's my target on Strats, etc. I use Darco strings on everything~ mineral oiled the neck and bridge~ nice dark rich almost ebony look.

This is maybe 1 of 3 electric-acoustic guitars that sounds like a powerful Acoustic guitar. The brass bridge pins were new to me.... although I have both nuts and bridges of Brass on several electrics, I'd never seen a Brass string pin. Well I just bought 8 sets. Hit a harmonic on the 12th, it just 'chimes with clarity and tone'. Really great Bass response, deep sound but clear as a bell. Bought a Blackstar 2X10 20W Stereo amp, saw demoed on YouTube. Now that's going to serve the DA, an EPI Ultra III and a Rikki 12.

Fit, finish hardware top-drawer. The 18:1 tuners are a pain when restringing -have to modify a side-winder to fit. But, once its tuned the ratio, size of tuner heads are a blessing. The harmonics dead nutz on, neck straight, frets level and true.

Finally I'll say that this is made in Indonesia. I consider them the best fit and finish way ahead of China, Korea and Japan. [the literature lead me to believe it was Korean, I may have mis-read it]

I bought a Cherry Burst~ beautiful. Get your' now at this sale price~

Absolutely no support at Musicians Friend. Electronics do not work. They couldn't even tell me how to replace the battery. I sent it back.

Comments about D'Angelico Mercer Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Love this guitar.....not only is it beautiful, but the tone is rich with a lot of voluum. I play in a duo with gigs all over town, Elk's, VFW, hotels, fairs and community venues. I've been playing for 60 years and I love a guitar with bling and flair and this guitar fits the bill! Thank you Musicians friend another great product!

Comments about D'Angelico Mercer Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I needed a different option for recording acoustics and some friends had suggested I try out some D'Angelicos and I was not disappointed! Great sounding guitar (especially when tracked) and plays perfectly. No tuning issues and arrived with a great setup. Would strongly recommend for anyone.

Crystal clear acoustic sound with solid lows.
I compared with a Taylor 314CE because they both use sapele back and sides and have same body shape.
Mercer won on all levels..looks, sound, feel. Action was too high for me out of box so i had a luthier set it up to my liking and it plays perfect. Amazing guitar, amazing value!

Comments about D'Angelico Mercer Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This fine guitar came with a hard-shell case and at this price point many other manufactures only supply a gig bag or nothing at all. The finish and setup are very good and the sound and ease of play-ability is excellent. The guitar keeps tune and the action is set up low enough to play Barre chords or lower down the neck 10-15th fret easily. The head stock is beautiful and many people remark about it's ornate inlays and design.

Comments about D'Angelico Mercer Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The D'Angelico company jumped into the acoustic market a short while back with the idea that the quality on their Jazz guitars could be brought into a wider market. I am very happy with this addition. I have several guitars and am still prone to love at first sight. This comes with a very solid hard shell case and the moment I opened that case and feasted my eyes on this guitar I got that 'oh wow" feeling of joy. Beautiful finish, picked her up and could feel a very strong, well balanced body. D'Angelico equips their guitars with incredible tuners allowing for great precision. This guy plays evenly up and down the neck and chords are solid and well balance but I would not say they ring out just yet but I'm hoping the guitar just needs to pen up a bit. Be warned you will have to unscrew the end cap to insert a 9V battery for the pickup as one does not come installed. I played through a practice amp so I have not yet thoroughly tested the electric portion but the controls were very responsive and designed t not be accidentally adjusted during playing.

I do a lot of singer songwriter style fingerpicking and at first go round the natural acoustic volume was a bit low but I think a string swap will take care of that.

A beautiful well made guitar that I look forward to playing quit a bit. Recommended!
