Strike it rich with this dark beauty.

The Dean Black Gold Z Electric Guitar features a solid Z-shaped mahogany body and neck with a flame maple top. The transparent black finish allows the flame grain to shine through, giving this instrument a unique air of diabolical beauty. Finishing touches to the look include full binding on the body and headstock, pearl block inlays on the rosewood fretboard, and all gold hardware.

Of course, being a Dean, you know this beast is endowed with more than visual temptations. String-through construction brings out the high sound qualities of this tonewood: mahogany for great sustain and depth, the maple top for brightness and clarity. 2 high-output covered humbuckers mean business when they carry this tone to your amplifier. Whether you're chunking out a locomotive-from-hell rhythm or slicing the air with a face-melting solo, the Black Gold Z is a well that won't run dry.

Great guitar!

By Bizzarroman

from Sarasota, FL

When I first played this guitar I was amazed. It felt so much better than my first (it being my second guitar). It has great tone and looks to kill, and feels great to play. Only problem I've had is that the input jack has come lose a couple of times. I haven't even bothered to replaced the strings it came with. Dean quality, and it's worth the price.

You will love this one

I've had this guitar for about eight months now and i'm very satisfied with it. I'm playing through a peavey triple xxx stack and i get a real good sound of this beast, the clean sound is very good but it may be a little thicker and the distortion is great and heavy but i seem not to get enough sustain. But overall this is a great guitar. The neck is just incredible i've never owned a guitar with as fast action and I recommend it to everyone.

Man, I love this bad boy!

I've owned this for just about 2 months now. It rocks. It played perfectly right out of the box. The setup was flawless. It look like a work of art and it plays like a dream. I have had no issues with it and I have played it pretty hard. The sound is perfect for the band I play in. We do heavy groove, metal, old school thrash kind of stuff{like Helmet mixed with Slayer and Sepultura}. It meets all my METAL needs and then some. I'm playing my first show with this guitar this coming weekend and I can't wait to see all the other players drool over my Dean masterpiece!

Great Guitar

I purchased this guitar last year in Dec and have been playing it quite a bit. I can honestly say I like playing this guitar more than my Gibson Paul that I've had since 1980. I like the feel, and the way it sounds is excellent. The weight of the it is light and is balanced nicely. Very good buy.

Awesome guitar

Its killer looks do not reflect properly on a picture, as it happenned to me as soon as I saw it hanging on the wall of a music store I knew it had to be mine. Body shape matches greatly the standard Dean head shape, and the string through construction its just a plus for its nice looks.I costumized this baby with active EGMs 81/85, bone nut, jumbo frets and a new bridge and this baby its something else, it just stands out in looks and sound from the rest. The only thing is that the knobs and cable plug become loose really easily so I had to change that too, but thats not at all expensive. In the end, Im really happy with this Dean and very happy to have bought it. It feels great when you are playing live, it balances just right and its very light too.

Great Guitar!

I've had this guitar for about half a year and the headstock on this baby is big enough to row a boat, but its supposed to be this big, it gives it a chunkier sound and you get more bark out of it the only compliant I have on this guitar is the input jack it gets loose often I recommend you buy a new input jack they cost like six bucks but anyways great guitar!

5.0's that good

I've owned this guitar for about four months now, long enough to get really aquainted with it. This guitar has all the soul and scream of the best. The pickups allow plenty of articulation between strings , and they roar like mad! I was surprised to have this much output from a pickup with this much personality. Roll back the volume a bit and you get awesome blues sounds...the action is VERY low and consistent the length of the neck, making it a joy to play; I noted that with tapping I can really stretch across the fretboard without the strings jumping around because at one spot they're really low/high etc. Another nice thing is the smooth taper of the neck joint--I've never been playing up in the high registers thinking, D*** this chunky neck...Furthermore, you've gotta love the looks! Everything from the cream binding EVERYWHERE to the uniquely formed knobs to the matching flamed maple headstock...I really can't believe what a great deal I've got. The only thing I could even choose to complain about is I think there ought to be a coil tap built in. That said, I've had the volume pots modified so that I can tap the pickups independently and couldn't find anything else I'd like different. Maybe 24 frets...nah. I played a hundred different guitars in all sorts of price ranges and this one is possibly the best deal EVER. Dean is quality. Buy it. It'll make you a better player.
