Bret's customization of the Z played on the "Celebrity Apprentice" intro.
The Dean Bret Michaels Electric Guitar features a mahogany body with a 24-3/4" scale set mahogany neck. The Z body style is balanced and comfortable and provides complete access to the fast 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. It's fitted with custom designed hi-output Dean USA DMT "Time Capsule"
pickups and the string-thru-body design gives added sustain. Other amenities on this Dean guitar include a Tune-O-Matic bridge, Grover tuners, and black hardware.
Bret says, "Just like my career of 25 years, Dean Guitars has withstood the test of time, manufacturing the very best guitars in the industry for over three decades. Dean's acoustic and electric models have been there for me night after night all over the world. They are the only guitars that can keep up with me, holding up tour after tour. Dean Guitars Rock!"
Time Capsule Pickup
The Time Capsule series of pickups is what Dean currently uses in their original TC series guitars. This neck position pickup on the Bret Michaels Z guitar captures the biting tones of the vintage Dean instruments produced from 1977 to 1986 with very strong lows and mids creating the tone that was used to record multiple platinum albums during this era.

Comments about Dean Bret Michaels Z Electric Guitar:
Great guitar.Came set up,just had to lower the bridge.Truss is set good, intonation is dead on.It is ultra light, the lightest guitar I have owned.Very thin body but not too thin. The pickups are excellent, the neck is amazing. My only problem and it's an easy fix,if I fix it.The rear strap button screw is stripped but,it's just about all the way tightened. This guitar is overall an amazing guitar.I am no Brett Michaels fan,I just wanted an explorer that came with good features and wasn't going to spend $1400.Epiphone guitars are no match for these Deans.I've owned Epiphones,no thanks. This not your dady's 10 lbs guitar,it might be half that but it does not feel cheap. It feels like a sleek metal machine.
