OVERVIEW

From one of the most prolific musicians in heavy metal history!

A Dave Mustaine Signature V from Dean Guitars. Though that might say it all, you should also know that this beast comes loaded with screaming Dave Mustaine Live Wire USA custom active humbuckers, and Dunlop flush mount straplocks. With its beveled edges, this V really looks like it can fly. Mustaine remarks that this guitar's neck is even better than what he has played before, and that the deluxe inlays, which are like a dot/sharktooth combo, are remarkable.

I just picked this guitar up used at GC and instantly bought it.First off I got the black colored one and it's loaded with Seymour Ducan pasive pick ups.The guitar is shown in this site as a VMNT and also shows the fret board isn't ebony with shark & dot inlays...I seen it played for 5 minutes and bought it. I've scored some decent gear used from Guitar center and this one was by far my best find. The guitar plays past and the action was set low with NO fret buzz anywhere, The Ducan pick ups roar soon after putting between half and full.I got it used and couldn't believe the over all condition it was in buying off the rack. I assume it wasn't there very long and found it hidden in the back corner.Great guitar even if you don't get one used it's one of those guitars that can do everything and obviously desimate f you crank it.The V shape body sticks out under your arm so be careful where you walk when it's strapped to you. I backed up into a cymbal the first night playing it but lucky for me NO damage, it was a light bump.

This is an ok guitar for the $ but nothing special. Great for budget minded guitarist, it's fairly well constructed, fit & finish were terrible but the sound was great. The pups have an incredible amount of clarity & tone, the flat radius fretboard is a double edge sword although fast its very prone to string buzz. The fretboard is ebony as stated but seems to be of poor quality due to its light coloring, the frest were decently leveled and played good. Dean needs to do more with its final set up & inspection though. Mine was strung with the top E & A strings not even in the bridge saddles and it groves the saddle from being tightened. I have owned numerous Gibson customs, USA Jackson's, Parker, PRS and others so maybe I expected a bit too much but this wasn't even a close comparison with exception of the the pups which blow EMG's out of the water IMO.
No bones or excess thrills just a guitar & case. Pick ups are the only standout feature.
Fairly decent for the $ but lack QC from factory. Mine had serious finish flaws as well as some hardware issues.
You get what you pay for.

Best Guitar I've Ever..held really

By Music4life3304

Comments about Dean Dave Mustaine V VMNT1 Signature Electric Guitar:

You can do pretty much everything with this guitar. I particularly play music similar to Megadeth, so obviously that's the main thing my guitar gets.. but it has low action which is great for especially lead guitarists, amazing pickup sound (no buzzing), and I can even get a pro sound from my little 15 watt line 6 when I couldn't do that as well with other guitars. I use the V with a Metal Zone pedal, and can get pretty close to Dave's sound without having the pro equipment.
I love everything about it
Everything works more than perfectly!
Always loved this guitar, and when I bought it, it was even better than I had hoped. Definitely worth the money, and I honestly would have payed more for it.

Tone all day

Comments about Dean Dave Mustaine V VMNT1 Signature Electric Guitar:

Dean and Dave really made a great guitar here, it sounds great when distorted and maybe even better when clean. The only thing to be wary of is the factory quality. So to sum up everything is that it's a great guitar for the money, it plays great, its metal as anything and It gets you the ladies.
All you get with this guitar is the case.
The only problem I have had was the first VMNT I received had really bad fret buzz on the A string so I sent it back, got a new one and I have had no problems at all.
You can get a better the Daves flying V and it really doesnt cost that much

Great out of the box

Comments about Dean Dave Mustaine V VMNT1 Signature Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because I needed to add an heavier axe to my collection. Everything about this guitar is metal, and that is exactly what I needed. The pickups are amazing, the neck is fast and the action is low.

This is an awesome guitar for its price. I mostly play metal and this guitar roars. I am glad to have purchased it. Super sexy and super fast fret board. The best part is that its very light weight.

Worth Every Penny

By AU-001

Comments about Dean Dave Mustaine V VMNT1 Signature Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar during the 4th of July sale here on Musicians Friend. I received it today with a twinkle in my eye. No dings from shipping and I plugged into my Marshall and it's screams Metal. I was surprised to find that the signature Dave Mustaine pickups were also good for clean tones, this thing can do Blues to Rock to straight up Metal. I would recommend this guitar to any flying V fan or Megadeth fan. Dean Guitars and Dave Mustaine knocked the ball out of the park with his signature VMNT.

Gears of WAR/ TOY?

By FrankTheSnake

from chicago IL

Comments about Dean Dave Mustaine V VMNT1 Signature Electric Guitar:

I own this(dean vmnt silver). Nice action, nice sustain, ok paint job, ok frets, pretty fast neck. Best part about this guitar Dave Mustaine signature active pickups, screaming clarity best way to put it. Only guitar I know that comes with strap locks big plus. Craftsmanship is ok at best guitar feels more like a toy than an instrument. Not a bad guitar but the price for this is extremely outrageous.
