I have owned this guitar for 2 years now. And I have owned many, many MANY guitars. This is by far the BEST guitar I have ever owned and played. It is so light, the fret board/neck is so comfortable, tuning is awesome and the pick-ups kick butt. I own the Angel of Death VMNT and am going to purchase a Black VMNT next. I have turned a lot of people onto this guitar by just allowing them to play mine. You will not be disapointed with this guitar. GET ONE!!!!!

Ok, first off, my opinion will be a little biased because mine came with issues right out of the box. I will hit the lows and then comment on the highs. First off, mine had a switch problem when I got it. The distortion was screaming, but when I would go to clean I would lose like 75% volume. I was like 'what the crap'? Anyway, I'm a gearhead, so I cracked it open and low and behold the bridge pickup ground to the selector switch was completely unsoddered, just dangling. Well, fixed that, but in the mean time I was overly scrutinizing. The graphics were hot looking, except where that bevel starts. They could have taken a couple of extra seconds to dress up the union, especially for the asking price. Then I took off the jack plate, and crap just came pouring out, some white powder, finish and chips. Lastly, the bridge heighth adjustment screws were rather thin, to the point of looking fragile. Ok, with all that said, here are the pros. Very hot pickups, but extremely articulate. Harmonics ring out like screaming eagles. I'm not sure what I expected from a 'D' neck, I guess a baseball bat, but I was pleasantly surprised at its shape. It isn't Les Paul thick, but not quite Ibanez thin. It is somewhere in between. Very easy to play. Intonation wasn't spot on, but with minor tweakage it was perfect. Ultra light, I'm talking creepy light, but I didn't notice it taking away from the tone. It has great distortion, and only required backing off on the knob ever so slightly to have buttery cleans. All in all, I can't complain.  Still, its a solid part of my collection now. Go get your own!!!

I was fortunate enough to get one of these Dean Angel of Deth's in about a week. When it arrived my guitar tech was the first to look at it and was very surprised at the quality of the work. Especially the fret work. This guitar really screams metal. One thing I noticed right away was the shape of the neck. It's not a super thin neck like an Ibanez wizard stlye. The shape is a "D" but with some heft to it. Don't be scared it is very comfortable to play. The pic ups where a nice surpise as well. Yes they're active but, you can get some great warm vintage rock tones out of them. They may not be as balls out as some high output pick-ups out there but their articulation is great. Like most Deans this thing is big. Big head stock, big body and big case. I have to crank my guitar stand to it's max length so that it doesn't touch the ground when I rest it on it. Last note about it is the frets. They are a little different than what I'm used to. Not as wide as a jumbo but they stand a lot taller than any I've ever used. Makes for easy trils and taping. buy and enjoy
