    Dean

Dean delivers another design by the cowboy from hell.

Now you can own the Dimebag Dixie Rebel -- an electric guitar designed by Dimebag himself. Dimebag Darrell was a walking textbook of modern metal guitar techniques, liberally spraying bone-crushing power chords, dissonant intervals, tremolo arm insanity, and a shredding lead voice worthy of the masters. The Dixie Rebel guitar features an ML shape with sharp corners to enhance the rebel flag design. The graphic looks like a real fabric flag that has been to battle. Star inlays on the rosewood fretboard are highlighted by a" REBEL" inlay at the 12th fret.

With a fully bound mahogany body and set neck, you'll get the wicked sustain and tone you expect from a Dean guitar. The Dimebucker bridge pickup supplies tons of power, and a double-locking Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo setup keeps you in tune.

I?ve had this guitar for a couple of years now. I love the paint job, the Dimebucker sounds great (Best passive metal pickup ever!) and the neck is definitely a shredder?s dream. However, I?ve pretty much had to adjust the truss rod every time I?ve tuned it. I carry a lot of tools in the guitar case, because this thing constantly needs adjusting and this guitar does not handle tuning changes well. It?s also a fragile guitar, I have a Telecaster that I?ve dropped on the floor twice now and I?ve got the dents in the hard wood floor to prove it, but the Tele still looks new. You could never do this with the Rebel, It dents, scratches and cracks at the slightest bump. Funny that my toughest looking guitar is also my most delicate and fussy guitar. But in the end I still love my Rebel, it sounds as badass as it looks and it plays great, it will be my Metal guitar until it breaks! This, unfortunately, should be some time next year. I just wish Dean would take a look at the quality and durability of their instruments. I know what you?re thinking, it?s a made in China guitar, but why should I waste money on an American made one if their Chinese counterparts are flimsy compared to other Chinese guitars AND twice the price. It does not give Dean a good reputation. If I would have known all this two years ago I probably still would have bought the guitar but I would have haggled more over the price. In twenty years my Gibson?s and Telecaster will look vintage and still sound great, my Rebel will be a pile of dust with a Dimebucker in the middle.

I have owned this guitar for a year or so now, and like it but am not thrilled with it like I thought I would be for a guitar of this price range. This is a guitar purchased by metal players, and like Dime us metal guys (for the most part) like to down tune, this is not a great guitar to drop tune. The main issue I believe is the quality of the Floyd Rose style bridge, it does not handle drop tuning well. After 3 attempts at a set up in standard D by qualified techs I ended up sending mine back to Dean to set it up for me. Kudos to the Dean guys, they were great to work with, and I only paid shipping one way, good customer service. It plays nice now, great harmonics & a fat bottom end but is still a nightmare to keep in tune, even with 4 springs & 11g strings, the guitar did not have this problem in standard E 440. I guess I kinda hoped for a better quality bridge, which is really all this guitar lacks, slap a Kahler on it & it would be good to go I think.

Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

I was attracted to theis guitar by the paint job. I was also curious as to how it would play next to other american guitars I own. The guitar is made in China. As soon as I plugged it in I could tell it was a fine high quality instrument. The dimebucker pickup is a total monster and more than keeps up with my EMG equipped les paul. The licensed trem is good and stays in tune with no issues at all. The V neck is a little strange at first but is very fast once you get used to it. The only niggle is the strap button is right under the A scale on the 15th fret. I used strap locks and it gets in the way a bit when you are soloing in A. To try and overcome this I changed the button to the top of the guitar but the centre of balance is wrong and the guitar wants to nose dive if you dont support it. Apart from that its a great player.

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar a couple weeks ago at a music store down by beach I was at. It looked very odd and stood out amoung a row of Fenders and Paul Reed Smith guitars and was the only on of its kind their so of course I grabbed it first. And I must say this guitar is a MONSTER I plugged it through a Line 6 HD 150 and pushed on the insane setting and this baby sounded SOOO good. The highs where amazing and pinch harmonics came out so clear and loud. The action is smooth as can be before I knew it I was playing pantera licks just like dime. I abused the wammy till the point where my friends thought I was going to break it but it still stayed in tune. The mix match pickups is what really sold me on it I had this baby so loud the owner came and turned it down. They pretty much inspired me to get the same pickups on every guitar I have. Im not a big fan of the looks but I might see past it an snatch this baby up in a few weeks.

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

I recently bought this axe, and I must say Im very impressed. I wish it was made here, but I think all in all they did a good job. I did read about the cracking of the clear coat, mine has held up just fine. I play in a band, and I play this guitar every day,gig on weekends. So far no problems at all. I can't believe how well it stays in-tune. Great buy in my book.

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

I recently used this guitar. The action literally blew me away. The floyd rose let me dive-bomb and squeal to the point where the manager of the store took it away from me. I currently own a jackson rr1 randy rhodes "v" and this guitar completely blows it away. I like my jackson, but I love the DIXIE REBEL.

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

This thing is a beast a guy sold it to me after only owning it 3 weeks and barely playing it at all, the distorted sound is crisp and tight and the harmonics scream also stays in tune good with use of the whammy bar,and has a strong clean sound with the volume rolled back, i would recomend this guitar to anyone

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

I ordered the explosion back, but this was sent by mistake, and I tried it out anyways. This guitar really isn't anything special. I wasn't too fond of the tone, and the overall feel of the guitar. My ibanez 350dx was less than half the price than this, but seems to be worth twice as much.

    Worth The Money

Comments about Dean Dimebag Dixie Rebel Electric Guitar:

I have nothing but good to say about this Guitar. I love its action. I love the Dimebucker it is a High Output Pickup and if you play this Guitar Clean you will hear every mistake so it will help improve your playing. The Floyd Rose System keeps it in tune but it makes it harder to re tune so you will get plenty of practice adjusting it.Over All a Great Guitar.
