OVERVIEW

Advanced electronics make this one a great value for the stage.

Made with quilt ash, the thin body of the Exhibition 12-string adds comfort while helping to reduce feedback when plugged in. The slim D-shaped profile of the set mahogany neck is extremely comfortable for electric guitarists and features a 25-1/4" scale. Appointments include a smooth ebony fingerboard, pearl diamond inlays, black NuBone nut and saddle, Grover tuners, and DMT electronics with Aphex Aural Exciter.

Aurel Exciter
Optimized for Dean's acoustic/electric guitars, the Aurel Exciter adds air, bite, definition, percussive attack, and better clarity by enhancing the natural harmonics of the sound. No other exciter has the musicality of the true Aurel Exciter found in Dena acoustic/electric guitars.

Big Bottom
The Aphex Big Bottom circuit dynamically enhances the low end by deepening and expanding the bass tones according to an adaptive process. It's not just an equalizer boost - it increases volume before feedback. The effect fattens the tone while it extends the guitar's bass producing capability. The Aphex brings out the box and adds a warmer tone that makes your guitar sound bigger and fuller.

Simply press the Aphex button and the guitar comes alive. Experience world class studio/live enhancement of your sound. Case sold separately.

Comments about Dean Exhibition Quilt Ash 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Aphex:

I've been playing for 20 plus years. Mostly for myself with occasional stage appearances. I have several guitars, electric, electric acoustic, acoustic, bass, and a mandolin. I've only had it about a week but it exceeded my expectations. I was afraid it would not look as good as the pictures. It's better in person!! I was concerned about tone due to slim body. Even without being plugged in it sounds great! It took a few minutes to dial in sound once I plugged in and again, it sounds great! Plays well. Very comfortable! Did I mention it's beautiful too !!

Comments about Dean Exhibition Quilt Ash 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Aphex:

Worth twice the price when I compare it to others I tried first. Beautiful too, but that's never what's important to me. She's one of my 31, and for now, I'm playing my new Dean 12 everyday along with my Dove, my LL10, my Taylor, my Loar, and all the many others. It ranks with the best I've got, and I never had that expectation. Thought it would be 'good-enough', but lucked into something so much better! A $$$ steal as a level 2 blem that I still haven't found. Hey Musicians Friend; you are the BEST!

Comments about Dean Exhibition Quilt Ash 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Aphex:

The other reviewer were right when they said that this guitar is even more gorgeous in person! I've received many compliments on its appearance. I prefer acoustic guitar, so I was really hoping that this one was going to having that same huge sound 12 strings are known for when unplugged, and it really does, regardless of it's super thin body. Only downside is that the tuner isn't that great, and it only tunes to EADGBe (those notes in whatever octave). I use a lot of alternate tunings and for a 12 string (which can be a pain to retune sometimes) this doesn't really cut it. But yeah get yourself another tuner and you're good. I haven't been able to put this guitar down since I got it and I feel this is a great addition to anyone's repitoire.

Comments about Dean Exhibition Quilt Ash 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Aphex:

Problem with 12 strings it its hard to find a big selection in a store to try them out so the only thing you can do is read reviews, order online and hope for the best. Unfortunately, the best did not happen in this case. I should have known that a thin body would not produce the sound I was looking for, but the reviews I read said it would...they were mistaken. It's a thin sound, kind of tinny. If you are looking for a deep, resonating 12 string sound, this won't do it. Look, it is what it is, a $400+ guitar so you kind of get what you pay for. It was really, really easy to play. Bar chords up the fret, playing lead, no problem on this whatsoever. The neck was a little thin for my taste but I managed. It was beautiful! The quilt ash is gorgeous and it makes it very hard to not own! Lastly, the tuner on this thing is really lacking. Dean has an Eagle as it's symbol (made in China, just saying) and on the tuner the left wing lights up if you are flat and the right wing when you are sharp. This did not allow for good accuracy, plus, it was difficult to get the correct string to register on the tuner. Plugged it in and it sounded very nice, but I don't do that very often. Disappointed because I really wanted to like it.
