After reading countless reviews on EVERYTHING in the same price range for AC/EL 's -(except for this one) I made a trip to the music store and played Ibanez, Taks, Ovations, Seagull, Laguna, Fender, Epiphone, Mitchell and probably a few more, I never considered a Dean. I picked it up and played it & was blown away. AWESOME SOUND and Playability. I lined up several guitars within reach and kept going back & forth to them all, the Dean was clearly the best one without a doubt. Very warm and rich, then after buying it and taking to band practice and plugging it in - WOW, super nice. Do yourself a favor and at least try one out if this is within your spending capability, you will be pleasantly suprised. The finish is beautiful, very glossy. The built in tuner is right on, I tuned it with my Boss and checked it - exact. The EQ is very functional so you may dial in to your taste with no problem. I usually play an electric solid body and let the usual acoustic player try it out, he could not put it down, hearing someone else play it through the sound system and being able to devote full attention to the sound made me like it even more. Great job Dean, keep up the good work & Thanks.
This is my first acoustic. I can tell you that this guitar has a very big sound. The neck is fast for an acoustic guitar, compared to others that I have played. I put a pair of elixir strings on it and it sounds even better and has better action. I chose this guitar because of its looks and also because I wanted something different. It's worth a look if you are in this price range and you want to try something different. (i.e. not an ibanez, fender, etc.) of comparable quality. No complaints about how it plays and the look/inlay are very nice.
