Dean

A sultry acoustic-electric that bears the sonic marks of the metal master.

Dave Mustaine named his signature acoustic-electric guitar "Mako" because of its shark gill-shaped soundhole, dorsal-fin-shaped bridge, and shark's teeth pearl inlays. The soundhole provides plenty of projection while the sharp Florentine cutaway on the mahogany body with maple top promotes upper fretboard shredding. The built-in tuner ensures the only dischords you play are intentional. Dave uses his Mako in the studio for layering and texturing tracks and feartures it on the intro to "The Hardest Part of Letting Go." Other distinctive features on the Dave Mustaine Mako include an ebony fingerboard, black NuBone nut and saddle, Grover tuners, and B-Band A3TY preamp with the aforementioned tuner.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

So Unbelievably Great

Comments about Dean Mako Dave Mustaine Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

For starters, I have the Glory edition, but did not find it listed on the site here. Same specs though. So, I first seen this thing on [@] Session when Megadeth performed and I thought how slick is that. I did not know they had it available to the public, until I stumbled onto it online. I am not crazy about signature guitars usually and not a fanboy of Dave Mustaine.I totally love this guitar. This is my third Dean guitar and their quality is great. I do not have the luxury of driving down to a store and trying before I buy, so I am always hesitant. The finish and looks of the cutout put me over the edge and had to have it.It sounds full and rich, and plays awsome right out of the box. Did not have to touch nothing. The onboard electronics / tuner are stellar. I had this in my gigbag for three days and it is still deadnuts in tune. Cant say enough about this guitar and stoked about the purchase, since it is always a gamble for me when buying without trying first. Dean has never let me down. The only thing, I wish, is that Dean had a dedicated hardshell case for this. Maybe they do, but I have not found one. Action, fit and finish are top notch. I play in an acoustic duo playing country, classic rock and blues. Completely awsome guitar.

Dean...What more could you say?

Comments about Dean Mako Dave Mustaine Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have several guitars to compare it to
I'm a Professional musician and I recently purchased this guitar at a local guitar center. I had been looking at it online and it was slightly out of my price range so I had given up on it. I went to guitar center with all intention of "settling" for something I'd be a little happy with but as I was standing in the store someone traded this bad boy in!!! I got to looking at it and they put a 299 price tag on it, i could not believe it I paid in full immediatly and had to wait 24 long hours for a police hold before i could come back and get it, it nearly killed me lol, but I went back first thing in the morning and got it!! I bought me a pack of martin strings and played the guitar in the car all the way home. I restrung it, set the intonation and action to my taste "I'm a bit picky" lol and this guitar is amazing, I held it for 6 hours playing everything i could think of and the guitar is phenominal. I would deffinately reccomend this guitar to anyone. Plays and sounds as good as some guitars i own that were triple the price...
