    Really neat piece

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

I have been going to my local shop off and on for about 2 years now and everytime I go I find myself picking up the MAB1 and just strumming away. I finally bought one and I really do enjoy this guitar. I think the finish on the guitar is really neat, I look at it at times and think that there really is chrome on the guitar paint. I have never owned a guitar with a Floyd Rose, and that is the probably one of the coolest things with it (I just need to learn how to use it well). I am used to my Les Paul which has a pretty chunky neck on it and this one to me feels paper thin. The only thing I truely don't care for are the EMG's. I have been a huge fan of the ceramic magnet pickups for high output and high gain playing, I do understand that EMG's are supposed to be the best for this but I am just not a huge fan, but I don't mind them enough to change them. Really cool rig and I plan on hanging on to it forever.

    A standard import Dean

    By MikeNY

    from New York

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

I played one of these in the local shop, and after reading some of the other reviews, I'm not sure if some of you just got lucky, or just have much lower standards than I do. The only thing really decent on the guitar I played was the hardware and pickups. For the price they were asking, the workmanship and features were quite poor. First, density and resonance of the body wood seemed closer to balsa than anything else. If you pay $800-1k for a guitar, it should at least have some halfway decent materials, but this one didn't. The neck build was also poor. The fretwork and setup was good, but the inlays were shoddy and cheap looking. Not flush with the fingerboard in places with some gaps in spots on the edges. The neck itself was made out of fairly low density maple. The neck splice was poorly done and it looked like it had a slight gap that had been filled in with wood filler prior to finishing. The volute was also carved somewhat unevenly. The "Armor Flame" finish looked very much like a shrink wrapped and clear coated graphic rather than actual paint. This experience is pretty much on par with most of the import deans I have played. I love most of the body shapes, but until they start spending their money on quality construction instead of artist contracts, I will not be buying a guitar from them.

    Middle pickup needs to go

    By OCDist

    from LA

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

What a great looking guitar, and the neck feels great. I got mine after a clinic where MAB signed it. The EMGs in the bridge and neck sound good, but the middle pickup has a huge drop in volume, and the pickup is in the way of your picking. I have lowered the middle pickup all the way down, and my pick still hits it. Very annoying. That pickup needs to go. Other than that, I had to go through few guitar before I found one without a chip or paint blemish out of the few MAB signed. Sans middle pickup is a killer axe.

Top end Guitar for mid range price

    By Neoclasiccl

    from Florida

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

I have both the MAB1 and The MAB2 and I was very surprised at the quality of these guitars. While not as good as a high end jackson (it's pretty close) the price difference makes up for it. I have a USA made Rusty Cooley Dean and these Korean MAB's are very close in quality. I highly recommend this guitar. If your thinking of buying it go for it. The Dean tech's in Tampa FL go over each one before they are shipped out to the resellers this ensures quality. The only down side of these guitars is the cases are a little flimsy but cases are replaceable.

    Pretty Sick

    By Go_Navy

from Naples, Italy (but I'm American)

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

This guitar is pretty sick. I played it and after we left, I immediately started saving up for it. The pick ups have a really sick metal sound (EMG's of coarse), and the neck its ultra thin. The graphic is a little flaming(no pun intended). The only thing i would have done differently is put a reverse headstock on it, but overall i would definitely recommend checkin it out.

The Best guitar i ever had!!

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

This guitar is very awesome. It has a very heavy metal and jazz tone. I have 2 more guitars, a fender stratocaster, jackson rx10D and none of them sound so perfect like this one. The freatboard is made to make your fingers fly above them. If you're looking for a Heavy Metal sound or jazz sound this is the best choice. Although it has a killer graphics, making it so beautifull. What are you waiting for?? buy it, you will not regret it!!!!!!!!

    The Holy Grail

    By Stallion1975

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

I ended up going to see a Michael Angelo guitar clinic in my city a few months ago. He ended up taking the MAB model off of the wall and shredding on it. I ended up buying it after the show and having him sign the back of the neck for me. I was blown away with how well this guitar played. It's one of the few rare guitars which truly play themselves. I talked to the manager of the store (a friend of mine) and he told me that the guitar wasn't professionally set up by the store for Michael. They offered to do that for him, but he said it wasn't necassary. I couldn't beleive that it was sent from the factory like this:) The pick ups sound amazing. The volume knob is placed perfectly for volume swells. And the finish is amazing. It was done by the same artist who did Dimebag Darel's tombstone. Buy this guitar! I will have it for life!

    the Best!!!

    By Anonymous

Comments about Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB ArmorFlame Electric Guitar:

I own two of his guitars the armorflame and the lazer. Both are spectacular guitars. I did not get two because I am a crazy MAB fan but because the guitars are great. If you like playing virtuoso guitar this has it all with the EMGs and Floyd Rose you cannot go wrong. I have played all the famous brands like Gibson, Fender, etc. But this guitar has everything those guitars have and more. The only flaw is that since it was not made in america the wires in the back are messy so a little soldering may need to be done, but a very very quick fix. Trust me i will use this guitar for the rest of my life!!!
