I just bought the MLXT Phantom the other day, a replacement for a BC Rich Warlock that I sold to get the Dean. I learned the roots on the BC, and honestly the Bronze Series Warlock was perfect for the job. But upgrading to the Dean was just such a smoothe transition, the action, sound quality, responsiveness, and just sheer SOUND that can come from the Phantom is superior!! It sits perfecly balanced over your shoulders, its relativley light, the lack of inlays is NOT a prob, the Floyd Rose is orgasmic (still practacing with that tho...) All in all, this is the best guitar ive ever played, and I've played my fair share. I read these reviews in helping in my decision on what guitar to buy and take THIS review to heart; the Phantom Dean is perfection; balance, power, and quality.

Do not spend your money on this guitar. it is not good. I owned this guitar for almost a year now. The licenced FR is terrible. The action cannmot be adjusted lower without the e string buzzing against the 1st fret. The humbuckers have too much bass in them so you get a very dirty tone. I have immoblized my FR because i was tired of all the work into changing just from a drop tuning to a standard. If this could be your first FR guitar just don't get one. And dont get this guitar just because dime has one. Dime spent a butt load of money on his guitars and they are nice. Save your money up to either buy a true FR or a different guitar. You will regret getting this purchase. If you don't have a FR already keep it that way, the novelty wears off in a couple of months. If you do get this guitar then prepare to call every local music shop and inquire how to tune FR. In a final point, it is hard to play anything other than metal in this guitar. you will not be asked to play at anything but metal areas.

This guitar is amazing! It sounds as good as it looks! The pickups are a really nice blend of warmness and punch. Metal machine!!!
When I first ordered this guitar I looked at other peoples reviews and saw that they were generally positive, I wish that I had read over the negative ones more thoroughly. This guitar was one of the worst purchases I have ever made, from the day that I got the guitar there were problems. Literally not even 24 hours after getting the ML I had to take it into my local shop for 200 dollars worth of repairs! Although this is a decent guitar you shouldn't waste your money on it.
The Dean ML Noir XT really has put up with two years of hell with me. I've taken out the stock pickups which were too muddy for me and have replaced them with a Bill Lawrence XL-500 and L-500. Not trying to sound like a Dime fanboy, just like the pickups. Neck's profile is nice and smooth, decently low action, bridge is easy to work with, and the overall playability is astounding. Sounds great for most genres that I play.
I have been playing this guitar for about 2 years now and I still crave to play it. I gig with it every week. I play metal, punk, hardcore rockabilly and country. Always sounds great thru my Vow amp. With the flat neck and super low action, it practically plays itself. I recomend it for anyone and any music. Even country legend David Allan Coe has been seen playing an ML.
The Modified Modified jagged V-profile Rail is awsome and the pickups are not too bad. The softer tones are a little fuzzy But mine is used and I was using a First Act amp. Overall it is worth more than it is priced. I suggest you get this guitar if you are into Hard rock to Heavy Metal and if you want somthing worth more than its price.
ok well this guitar ripped it was awesome i loved playing witht the folyd rose and it had everything that i wanted out of a guitar but then after like a day. i noticed that the high-e string was like1 1/8 of an inch away from the edge of the fret board. so i try to fix it by shimming the neck and what not. i go to put the screws back in it pushed up a fret i try to take the screw out it breaks off......yea it realy pissed me off over all this was a great guitar sounded good action was nice and low i could sweep like anything. i gave this a 2.5 on the quality cuz mine was build shitty but im assuming i just got a bad one over all great guitar. i just wont buy a dean again
This guitar is amazing. I dont know what to say I mean ive played this thing for maybe 8 months and this thing just blows me away.. the stock pickups were alright but I put in a dimebucker and a seymour duncan 59 and it sounds wicked! P5622018 play through a randall rx120D and it sounds amazing. The floyd on this guitar is awesome never goes out of tune no matter how much I pull up or dive bomb, it can always come back up and stay in tune.. I would recomend this guitar to anyone who is at an intermidiate or advanced level.
Been shredding this guitar for 2 years strong now and hasn't let me down once. Don't let people who have no idea about how a floyd rose works discourage you. Fret buzzing can be quickly solved with a fret polish or simply raising your action up just slightly. The rails are cool, but to make this thing really scream, get a gold EMG-HZ and put it in the bridge and it sings like a church choir. Most guitars are going to need a little TLC before they sound the way you want. As for the bass issue, set your bass on your amp to 4 and it sounds just fine. It dive bombs and recesses great amd sounds amazing with lower tunings. Don't hesitate to get this beauty while you have a chance.
The minute I saw this guitar I wanted it. Ive had it for about 3-4 years now and it still hasn't failed me. The floyd rose works just fine, though it does take a little getting used to and a few minor adjustments. Its a little heavy but I think its worth it. The fret board is comfortable to play with, and the action is perfect. Overall if your looking for a guitar that not only sounds good but looks good, this is the one.
From the moment I saw this guitar, I fell in love with it. The pickups are amazing, it picks up those classic Dime squeals and has a very nice bottom end. Sounds great with distortion and heavy music, but also sounds good switched to the bridge pickup playing clean. The Floyd Rose works flawlessly and keeps the guitar perfectly in tune (if done correctly). Great for any level of player, but not recommended for people who don't want to mess with the 'trem system (which is easy to learn). My only complaint is it's a bit heavy, but you get over that quick; and if you have problems with the Floyd Rose, just do a quick web search and it's easy.
