I just bought the MLXT Phantom the other day, a replacement for a BC Rich Warlock that I sold to get the Dean. I learned the roots on the BC, and honestly the Bronze Series Warlock was perfect for the job. But upgrading to the Dean was just such a smoothe transition, the action, sound quality, responsiveness, and just sheer SOUND that can come from the Phantom is superior!! It sits perfecly balanced over your shoulders, its relativley light, the lack of inlays is NOT a prob, the Floyd Rose is orgasmic (still practacing with that tho...) All in all, this is the best guitar ive ever played, and I've played my fair share. I read these reviews in helping in my decision on what guitar to buy and take THIS review to heart; the Phantom Dean is perfection; balance, power, and quality.

Do not spend your money on this guitar. it is not good. I owned this guitar for almost a year now. The licenced FR is terrible. The action cannmot be adjusted lower without the e string buzzing against the 1st fret. The humbuckers have too much bass in them so you get a very dirty tone. I have immoblized my FR because i was tired of all the work into changing just from a drop tuning to a standard. If this could be your first FR guitar just don't get one. And dont get this guitar just because dime has one. Dime spent a butt load of money on his guitars and they are nice. Save your money up to either buy a true FR or a different guitar. You will regret getting this purchase. If you don't have a FR already keep it that way, the novelty wears off in a couple of months. If you do get this guitar then prepare to call every local music shop and inquire how to tune FR. In a final point, it is hard to play anything other than metal in this guitar. you will not be asked to play at anything but metal areas.

I own this guitar, and I love it, it's awesome and it's really really fun to play. There's only one bad thing, when you change strings you have to have a special tool to keep the string holder straight when you put it back in. But overall it's an awesome guitar.
This guitar is amazing! It sounds as good as it looks! The pickups are a really nice blend of warmness and punch. Metal machine!!!
ok well this guitar ripped it was awesome i loved playing witht the folyd rose and it had everything that i wanted out of a guitar but then after like a day. i noticed that the high-e string was like1 1/8 of an inch away from the edge of the fret board. so i try to fix it by shimming the neck and what not. i go to put the screws back in it pushed up a fret i try to take the screw out it breaks off......yea it realy pissed me off over all this was a great guitar sounded good action was nice and low i could sweep like anything. i gave this a 2.5 on the quality cuz mine was build shitty but im assuming i just got a bad one over all great guitar. i just wont buy a dean again
I have been playing this guitar for about 2 years now and I still crave to play it. I gig with it every week. I play metal, punk, hardcore rockabilly and country. Always sounds great thru my Vow amp. With the flat neck and super low action, it practically plays itself. I recomend it for anyone and any music. Even country legend David Allan Coe has been seen playing an ML.
I have owned this guitar for 8 months now and I am not very impressed with the tremolo at all. If I want to use the wammy bar, I can't because I know the guitar will just go out of tune. Last time I tuned it it took me an hour and a half. The good thing is if I don't use the wammy bar it stays in tune for a few weeks. It is fun to play but its kind of a hassle.
This ML is an awsome guitar, but with the whammy bar part... you forgot to tighten the nuts at the top on the guitar so that the strings don't de tune themselves. Then when you use your whammy bar you can squeal and dive like Dimebag Darrell as much as you want wihtout going out of tune. Then won't have to tune your guitar until you need to change your strings.
This guitar is a freaking amazing guitar! I put a dimebucker pickup on it and it made it sing! perfect for playing hard rock or metal music! Guitar is great for any level player!
The first thing I did when I got it was put a dimebucker in it, between that and a boss distortion it rips up high and down low right where I like it. Right out of the box the action was lower than any cheaper model strat I've played. For the money, I've never played a sweeter sounding guitar.
i went into a store to play this n the sound was like nothing id ever heard(unless it was on a cd)but it blew me awaythat a guitar this cheap was so great sounding and if youre unsure of which guitar to go with then give the phantom a try
I love this guitar. it sounds great and plays even better, and looks like a demon. this was my first guitar with a floyd rose or floating bridge and if you are not familiar with this its a bitch to learn to tune, that is my only complaint, but once you get it in tune it will not go out of tune untill the strings are shot. Great guitar, i definatly do not regreat buying it!
