I got my Blueburst Performer a few days ago and I simply can't put it down. I bought it from Musicians Friend and had never played one before. So I took a chance based on the other great reviews. Those reviews could not have been more right. This guitar is worth every penny and more. The last guitar I purchased before this Dean was a Blueridge that cost three times as much. I then had to have it professionally set up and a pickup installed. This baby came ready to play with nice low action and big sound. I don't even feel like I want to change the strings.I did not really know what mini jumbo meant as far as size goes. Sounds like a contradiction in terms. It is a little smaller than I thought but the size makes it all the easier to play and the sound is big enough. This guitar stays in tune extremely well. This Performer proves that you do not need to use the absolute best materials to build an instrument that plays well and looks great.I have played mostly without amplification so far but did plug it in for a while and am very happy with the electronics. You could spend a whole lot more money and, yes, the guitar you buy would probably be made with better materials overall. But as far as basic engineering goes, this guitar is put together well enough to please the eyes and ears and keep more money in your pocket.Buy it!

I bought this guitar after playing for a year because it looked like a solid guitar and for the price I thought it was a great deal, however I was wrong. I only had this guitar for two weeks and then the input jack fell into the guitar. It cost me to get it fixed. Not only was did the input have to be fixed but the action on my guitar is very high, which makes it hard to comfortably play for extended periods of time, which will also cost me more money to get fixed. The guitar does have beautiful tone, but with the negatives I've mentioned, unless you're a beginner you would be better off to spend more money and get a better guitar

    Beautiful work of art.

I found this guitar by total accident. I own 2 other guitars and was not looking for a 3rd. I own 3 now and this Dean is my top baby. It stays in tune like everyone here has already stated. I am a beginner at playing guitar. Matter of fact I am just about to move onto chords as I finally after 2 months on the scales.I overpaid for this guitar at a guitar shop. $250.00 U.S. This was a demo guitar and the worker pushed it off as it was new. For new it should not of had scratches from a pick. First thing I did was put on top dollar strings. I can't stop playing it.I would buy another Dean without thinking of it.Even though I was taken advantage of, sort of, I would still buy another Dean. I got very lucky after reading all of the reviews here.

    AWESOMENESS!

I've had this guitar for getting close to 3 years now and this thing hasn't failed me yet, I bought it at my local guitar shop, I tried it in store I liked it, so I bought it. although I warn you if you put extra light strings on it ( like I did) the low E and A strings buzz, nothing horrible though. overall I am VERY glad I bought this guitar

    Gorgeous

    By DeanFan

I was playing this guitar in my local store yesterday and couldn't believe how amazing it is. The action is great, and it fits so comfortably on your lap, the neck feels great and the sound is gorgeous! I could not for my life put it down until i was informed the store was closing. At such a great price I'm very anxious to buy it. It is cheaper to get it from here, so that's what i may do, and I'm hoping to own this by the end of November.

    nice beginner guitar

    By Guitarman1000

I just traded for the patec/bb(blue) and it's a pretty good guitar for a beginner and maybe someone who just wants it for rhythm and some lead. It's built pretty well, though. It does not have a pick guard which over time will result in scratches to the finish and then through the wood, etc...Simple solution, add a clear one. I did and it looks great. It's really made to plug in if you really want to hear it right.

This guitar looks great...the pictures do it nothing. The electronics are good for the price of the guitar. it sounds good but the 6th and 5th strings buzz like crazy! it gets very annoying!! its a good beginner guitar though.

Look No Further! Get Your Wings!

    By Mongo Lloyd

The choices are limited in this range. I have checked out most models from all major manufacturers. Nothing even comes close to the Dean EA Performer Archtop in this price range. Nothing. Fishman electronics. Grover tuners. A sexy archtop, buffed to perfection. The only improvements could be better bridge material, and better bridge pins (which are cheap enough to get). Got mine today. Beautiful blueburst. Changed the strings immediately (which you need to do with ANY guitar)... and viola! Awesome, clear, ringing acoustic sounds flooded my room. Sounds even better plugged in. The Fishman pre-amp gives you bass, treble, mids and presence adjustment, plus volume. I could not be happier. Forget Yamaha, Ibanez, Takemine and the others. Get this Dean. You won't be disappointed. It is sweet.

    Great guitar amped

I have had this guitar a while and it is a nice addition to my collection. It is very attractive and hard to believe that a guitar this nice looking is as cheap as it is. It doesn?t have a full body sound but when you plug it in it?s got a really sweet tone. The neck is more like my les Paul so I can play more lead than on my other acoustics. For the cash, it?s a steal.

    Solid guitar for the price

    By GuitarNut723

I don't own this guitar but a friend of mine who's played for over 30 years in various bands bought one and plays it for gigs all the time. The tone is incredible when amplified and noodling around on it during the breaks when it's off it sounds smooth and full in acoustic mode. The neck has that nice "Strat Neck" feel so it plays fast. The Fishman pickup really makes this baby sing!Right now I own a Baby Martin A-E and this one will be my first full size acoustic-electric guitar I own. I still can't believe the price relative to what you get for the money. My buddy is not given to faint praise on guitars either and he loves his Dean. His guitar stable includes an American Standard Tele, an HSS American Standard Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Dean Metal Body Resonator. Not a bad neighborhood for a Dean Performer to find itself in, eh?
