High-output EMG pickups fuel this Dime-inspired metal warrior.

Being a Dean electric guitar, the 7-string Razorback 7 255 looks as good as it sounds. Dangerous-looking edges are highlighted by color-contrast bevels on the body and outlines on the famous Dean headstock. V inlays with Dimebag Darrell's razor blade at the twelfth fret plus all black hardware make the Razorback a wickedly stunning guitar.

The Dean Razorback 7 255 Electric Guitar features a mahogany neck and body and a rosewood fretboard. The V-shape neck has a strong, set joint and a 1-5/8" nut. Grover tuners and a locking tremolo keep you in perfect tune while you dive-bomb the night away. 24 fast frets facilitate wicked, shredding solos and lightning quick chord changes. 3-way switching, volume, and tone control keep things simple, yet tonally flexible, and with tons of presence.

    2 powerful active EMG-707 humbuckers
The 707 uses two alnico magnet loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fat top end. Because of a more natural tone, it has loads of output but isn't muddy.

Dimebag Darrell Abbott's return to Dean Guitars was one of the many things cut far too short by his death near the end of 2004, but his many drawings and ideas have kept the guitar makers at Dean inspired.

Best 7 string guitar money can buy

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

The Razorback 7 255 is hands down the best 7 string guitar I own. The EMGs sound great for metal, blues, hard rock, and clean. The thin V shape neck is very comfortable. The Floyd Rose is very smooth. The low B string on mine was hard to keep in tune sometimes no matter what tuning you play in (i play in double drop). But it will stay in tune after you tune it 3 or 4 times. Over all this guitar is killer in looks, and tone. And playing is easy for rhythm or shredding. If I were you just click on "buy" and you will have one of the best guitars out there!!!

    Great playability...thats it

    By Alex Murphy

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

I owned this guitar maybe 8 months before it broke entirely. because of it I will most likely never buy dean again. The good - the guitar played great, the best action i've ever had on a guitar. It also got a lot of people's attention. The EMGs were great as well. The guitar overall had a great tone that worked anywhere. The bad - drop this once and expect to replace it. the paint job was badly done and chipped with ease. If you let go of the guitar neck it would fall to your feet. The wood the guitar was made of was very low quality. It was hard to keep in tune (and i know how to tune a floyd)All I am saying is try before you buy.

    Metal

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

Well, I've been looking around for good seven strings for a few months now and finally found this one at a warehouse. Before, I was actually not a huge fan of Dean guitars. I plugged this one in, and the pickups were just hot. Real power with those active buckers. Sound can be calm, smooth or just plain out crazy. Just buy one; you'll love it.

    Great 7 String

    By Robert-XjbXe

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

The Dean Razorback 7 has aggressive looks and sound. The EMG 707's are powerful and flexible, the V shaped neck feels great and the licensed Floyd rose is just as good as the original. The only issue I have encountered is the Low B goes out of tune slightly after about 6-10 hours of play.

    Best guitar ever built

    By PhillCantu93

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

I first wanted this guitar after finding out that Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry) uses this masterpiece of a guitar. I was also a somewhat big fan of Dean guitars, so I picked one up at a local music shop and played some licks by bands like Mors Principium Est and Morbid Angel. The neck feels perfect and the EMG 707s are clean and dynamic. This guitar is one meant to be played.

    Can I marry my Razorback?

    By Anonymous

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

Ok I was skeptical about this guitar because of the painted neck. Usually i just don't feel right playing with a painted neck; however the neck on this guitar great. The V profile on the neck feels very natural. The EMG 707s are powerful, and this guitar is just gorgeous. I keep it tuned to standard (because tuning it is, admitably, frustrating at times) with the lowest string being a low B and it doesn't get muddy at all. It's really good for playing all the newer Trivium stuff and i pretty much use it for anything in standard tuning. If you get this guitar you won't regret it kiddies.

    Dean 7-string

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

Pricely I would say , but it has all the features I want with easy access and playability on the neck. Can be played with both positions, really big guitar and case. Only thing wrong is that the toggle/3 way switch broke and theres no sound from 1 of the 3 opinions leave me bassy sound thats only good for solos and sweeps .u will need an angled patch cord . Mostly stays in tune after in case and traveling place to place .Has all the feature rather then the ibanez RG7 with a shity body . Try to find a cheaper use one or dent/scratch not worth 1000 even though i pay for in. Try it out first .made in Korea

    It Kicks a**

    By MetalMan385

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

From the begining i have always like looking at it, then i got to play it its v neck gives you the most freadom to rip up kick a** solos and the active pickups give it a nice deep sound, the best thing its that it only plays the stings you hit. If you are looking for the altamate guitar this it the way to go!!

    Incredible 7 string!!

    By Guitarbarian7

    from Boston MA.

Comments about Dean Razorback 7 255 7-String Electric Guitar:

The Dean Razorback 7 255 7 string guitar is Incredible!!I bought this guitar because it is a 7 string guitar that is not in the "RG/Strat" body shape. I love 7 strings, but dont like the "RG/Strat" shape.I am amazed at how good this guitar plays and feels.Be warned, this guitar is HUGE!! It is a little bit heavy since it is made entirely of mahogany. The EMG pickups sound fantastic! The floyd rose on this guitar stays in tune better than any I've used in the past including the original floyd rose'.The neck is suprisingly fast and smooth. The fret dressing is flawless!I love the Dime style volume knobs. Very cool!!There were only 2 things I could complain about with this guitar.1. The toggle switch will sporadically cut out when switching to the neck pickup.2. The EMG pickup in the neck position is pretty much bottomed out from the factory. The neck pickup is too high and was very difficult to lower. These are the reasons I gave it a 4.5 in quality. After fixing those two issues, I can say this is the most lethal guitar I've ever owned!!Top notch Dean guitar!!Buy one. You will not be disapointed.
