Well, for my 16th birthday last month, I got a $300 gift certificate from my parents plus $75 from relatives (I know, I know, that makes me sound spoiled, but I have never gotten that much money ever). The next day, I went to see if there were any guitars there that were within my taste. I saw some nice Ibanezes and Jacksons, which were nice, but they were too expensive and the feel of the Jacksons just wasn't right. Then... I saw this guitar.I didn't know if my eyes were decieving me when I saw the price tag. WHAT!?!?!?! I HAD to get it. And I did...while bargaining with an employee to get it $30 cheaper. My dad had to pay extra, but he's glad he did, and I'm glad I did as well. I couldn't imagine getting something different. This guitar is the best guitar I think I've ever laid my hands on. The neck is super thin, but not so thin that the foundations of it are weak. It allows me to shred like I never have before, and the sound is so much clearer then my other guitars, but I still love those guitars, just not as much as this! :-)The Dimebag treble and Dimarzio rhythm pickups make this guitar sound amazing heavy, and suprisingly, for being such a heavy sounding guitar, the clean sounds arent too bad at all, either. Being influenced by Dimebag, I can now see why he's played Dean guitars all of his life. They're incredible along with ESP guitars and Ibanez guitars. The feel felt just right for me right from the start, and this guitar can go from anything smooth like bitey, slightly overdriven blues to just face disintegrating metal. This + Marshall AVT50= DigiTech DF7 Distortion+ BOSS GE7 Equalizer= MONSTER TONE. Enough said. For those who read this review, I DEFINITELY recommend you try out any of the Dean Dimebag guitars or any Dean guitar for that matter. You won't regret it!

First off, I own a the set-neck boneshard razorback but tried this one out in a guitar store just to see if mine was worth nearly a thousand dollars more. Firstly, the description here is erroneous as the body is actually made out of basswood NOT mahogany and the neck is a bolted on maple unit. While this makes the guitar lighter, it also detracts from the tone and the sustain. Obviously the hardware has been similarly downgraded to cut costs save for the grover tuners. The Dimebucker has been swapped for a proprietary Dean humbucker which I found to have less articulation, power and sustain. The Floyd is also gone which made it ridiculous as a Dime signature. I love deans and love my razorback but this new model really seems like a hackjob. As a beginner guitar it's overpriced and far too unwieldy and as a flashy pro guitar its under equipped especially considering at this price the competition is offering name brand hardware and real tone woods with set or neck through construction. If you have to have a huge pointy guitar (and they are awesome) I'd say go with an Epi explorer or LTD EX until you can afford the real-deal set neck razorback or if you win the lottery a USA made version.

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

I owned this guitar for about 6 months, and have to say I was sorely disappointed with it. The intonation was all off, the action was too high, it didn't pick up pinch harmonics for crap, and worst of all, I sold my (discontinued) Schecter C1-FR to get it. Needless to say, I sold it. It wasn't all bad though, I mean shredding on this thing was pretty nice and it's tone wasn't the best but it was pretty good. Maybe I just got a bad model of it, but never will I buy another Dean DB again.

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

The RazorBack DB is a Freat sounding Guitar. Got it as a Birthday Gift and loved the way it sounded! Great for Rock and Metal! The lack of the Floyd Tremolo is a bummer. Though the Guitar is Great without it! 2 Thumbs up Dean!!

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar for christmas and as soon as it came a band member and I took the coffin like case out of the box and when we opened the case our jaws dropped to the floor. It is by far the best guitar I have ever played. The only problem I have with it is it is so long you need a lot of room to play it unless you want to bump it into everything. If you're looking for a good rock and metal guitar invest in this one,it is definately worth it.

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

I picked this up and started to play it. I was very impressed with the playability. On the other DIME guitars I'm not too crazy about the Floyd rose, mostly because of the maintenance. The guitar sounded really great. I feel this is an excellent guitar for the price. You get the Dimebucker pickup and mahogany body. It is basically a razorback without a floyd rose. So In my opinion... you're getting a guitar for half the price.

MY NEW FAVORITE

By MORBID MIND-P1NXB

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

So I recently discovered that finally, dean made a more affordable model of the razorback. I freaked. My local music store ordered it for me, and I had to at least play it. When I did, I fell in love. The popular v shaped neck layed in my hand perfectly, and being more thin lined than my other guitars made faster playing easier. So I took it home, and ran it through digitech death metal distortion. It blows all of my other guitars out of the water, and then some. The body shape is something I've heard a lot of complaints about, and my dad doesnt like the size. To me, I couldn't feel more comfortable. Derived from the ml, it has the v body shape with the explorer style arm. I love the v shape at the bottom, because it falls right over my knee, and lets me have more control of where the body of the guitar is, and haveing the arm on it, lets me hold it in the "traditional" stance. When on stage, it also helps out when it comes to solos, or parts where it takes more stability, and not so much moving around. All in all, it fits your body, and I know it sounds cheesy, but having a larger body surface lets me "feel" my playing more. The pickups arent bad, and they come out of the case dialed in, harmonics are set, and pick hand harmonics come out beautifully. I play a lot of slipknot, five finger death punch, and static x. It fits all, and when set to clean, you can go anywhere.

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

i played this guitar yesterday, and i was delighted. i had never played a razorback before, but i had always wanted to. it seems like this guitar's smooth neck, hot wired humbuckers, and razor looks were designed to play "cowboys from hell". if you're thinking about getting a razorback, consider this one.

Great Tone and Lighter than you think

By Brad DeRosby

Comments about Dean Razorback DB Electric Guitar:

Sorry but I have to give this one a solid 10 !!!
Has Grover Tuners, Dean Dime Humbuckers and a cool style.
Mahogany body and neck but not heavy like a Les Paul. I was expecting a heavy guitar but wanted the mahogany because of the great tone it gives any guitar. Very well made. Rock Solid.
You have got to be kidding me. A great guitar that sounds like this and a price you CANNOT beat!
