OVERVIEW

One of Dimebag’s final designs.

The Dean Razorback V 255 electric guitar features a mahogany neck and body and a rosewood fretboard. The V-shape neck has a strong, set joint and a 1-5/8" nut. Grover tuners and a locking tremolo keep you in perfect tune while you divebomb the night away. 24 fast frets facilitate wicked, shredding solos and lightning quick chord changes. The EMG pickups provide plenty of excellent tone. 3-way switching, volume and tone control keep things simple, yet tonally flexible, and with tons of presence.

Being a Dean guitar, the Razorback V 255 looks as good as it sounds. Dangerous-looking edges are highlighted by color-contrast bevels on the body and outlines on the famous Dean headstock. V inlays with Dime's razorblade at the twelfth fret plus all black hardware make this guitar wickedly stunning.

Dimebag Darrell Abbott's return to Dean Guitars was one of the many things cut far too short by his death near the end of 2004, but his many drawings and ideas have kept the guitar makers at Dean inspired. These Razorback V 255s were some of Darrell's final designs, and we're sure they will inspire you, too!

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

I highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a an awesome high gain metal machine. The Floyd Rose does a great job of staying in tune even when used to the extreme(trust me I have). The neck is very fast and perfect for shredding.

Sick combo

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

So, I had been looking for both a new amp, and a new guitar. My buddy had convinced me I needed a tube amp, which I agree'd, except for the price, then I found the Peavey Valveking 112 combo. Cheap, for a tube amp, and I have always prefered Peavey. So that came in the mail a week later, plugged in my Epi-SG 1966 reissue, sounded better than before, went and got my BC Rich Perfect 10 Bich, played for a while, sounded great, but I still needed a little more. Both guitars have stock pickups, and have use for their own styles, but I wanted something Metal. I knew I wanted EMG 81/85's, for the reputation and sound. I had been looking at the Epiphone SG Prophecy, since I am an Epi-fan for the price they're awesome guitars, after about a week of deciding, I went with this, the same day the price dropped on the silverburst, so I ordered without hesitation. When it showed up, I didn't really know what to expect... very balanced. Good custom fit case. The headstock at first was large to say the least, but I've gotten over that. Stays in tune VERY well, and with a tube amp just use the fine tuning pegs while your amp is warming up. It is however, a pain to drop the tuning to drop D/C due to the locking system at the top. When I first plugged it in, I was amazed at the distortion (Lead channel built into the amp, haven't had a need to plug in any of my pedals since I got it), but wasn't too impressed with the clean sound. After a few days, I hit the magical spot and it sounds just as good as any of my other guitars do clean, if not better. I play alot of Ska music, and this guitar sounds awesome for it. The Pick up selector does wonders, for heavy palm muting, go with the neck, solo's with both, or the bridge depending on what you want, and everything else both or neck. Well worth the money, though I'm worried about putting my Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings on it, from what I've heard they aren't so great with floating bridges.

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

ive had the exposion version of this guitar for about a year i havnt had a single problem with it. it takes a little getting used to the shape of the neck. Mine has the EMG pickup set in it and i love them, if your a sloppy player then i wouldnt recommend the EMG'S cause they pickup everything you do. very well blanced and has a fast neck! recommend this guitar to anyone from beginner to professionals. plus its a DIME guitar and i love his playing

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

Ok so out of the box I noticed that my bridge pickup was slanted so i ignored it.when i actually plugged it in i was dissapointed that the dimebucker i was excited about wasn't what i expected. the tone was muddy and just bad in my taste because i tried everything. Different settings, eq pedal different strings.Another thing was I swapped out the dean pickups for Emgs 81/85fixed that problembut when i put ernie ball super slinkies on the bridge fell back which i fixed but the spring clamp petrudes now so i cannot put the back panel onAlthough the guitar is lightweight and its playability is stupendous. Wayy more comfortable tha my Ltd m1000 or my rhoads vGreat guitar just needs work

best bang 4 the buck

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

Speaking from experience, I know that sometimes a guitar design doesn't sell as well as anticapated, and far more are produced than bought. I am 100% sure this is the case here. If you are looking for the holy grail of guitars, this is your opportunity. The price they are asking is far below what one would normaly pay for this level of quality. This is one of the most solid guitars I have ever played.

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

This is one MEAN guitar. The pickups are what I'd desctibe as angry and aggressive. Perfect guitar for metal, hard rock, even blues if you want to add some bite. Smooth, fast neck that just screams to be shredded on (if only I could!) You will NOT be disappointed.

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

I just got mine in a few days ago. Shipping was way fast. I put a new set of strings on it right away, and I haven't had to tune it again yet. It sounds great with the emg's. It was in almost new condition, I couldn't even tell that it had been used. Best of all it came with a fitted case. It is an unbeatable deal. It also has a little trap door in the back where the 9 volt goes. The only thing that I think could improve is the neck thickness. I have played mostly Jacksons, so I am used to a thin neck. It was hard to play it at first. Other than that, it's great.

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar & i love it, feels great in my hands, I've read comments that say the guitar is heavy, actually I disagree. The balance is also great. Do not go for the cheapened version you can find the more expensive one not used for less then what these big retailers are selling them for in other words shop around. The emg's are just amazing fat and clean, the hardware is consistent with USA models. I play it through a Line 6 Spider 3 for practice and through a first gen EVH 5150 full stack when jamming with the guys, it roars when ya turn it to 11 :) you will not regret the purchase if you get one, so what are you waiting for?

        Dean 255 Razorback V Explosion

        By DeanPlayer-I0xPd

        from Detroit Lakes, MN

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

This is honestly the best guitar ive ever played/owned. Ive owned Gibsons, Esps, Other Deans, Jacksons, Fenders, Pretty much any brand you can think of, and out of all of them this guitar is my favorite to play. The neck is amazingly smooth, The pickups are amazing, of course when arnt emgs amazing? lol. The body is comfortable for all positions. The graphic is killer. Perfect sound is the main thing. I play through a dimebag distortions pedal and a marshall half stack and it is the best setup ever.Bottom line is if you buy this guitar, you will want to buy another. R.I.P Dime

        Great Playability

        By Andy62887

Comments about Dean Razorback V 255 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar 2 weeks ago and it arrived last week I played it for 3 days wich were 3 great days, I sent it back because i noticed two chips out of it after i got looking at it. I cant wait for the other one to show back up . This guitar has a fast slipery neck and the LFO is actually great even though ive heard bad things about them. The explosion graphic is pixel but i think its awsome. And the Emg 81/85 combo is always great. other than the cosmetic flaws in mine I was overwelmed by the sound and playability wich were flawless. Cant wait for the replacement. THX Dean For a great Guitar
