A wild breed of guitar!
The Razorback V Standard looks as good as it sounds because it's a Dean. Dangerous-looking edges are highlighted by sleek bevels on the body and mirrored on the famous Dean headstock. V inlays with Dime's razorblade at the twelfth fret plus all black hardware make this guitar wickedly stunning.
The Dean Razorback V Standard features a mahogany neck and body, a rosewood fretboard and a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker pickup at the bridge. The V-shape neck has a strong, set joint and a 1-5/8" nut. Grover tuners and a locking tremolo keep you in perfect tune while you divebomb the night away. 22 fast frets facilitate wicked, shredding solos and lightning quick chord changes. 2 humbuckers with 3-way switching, volume and tone control keep things simple, yet tonally flexible.
Dimebag Darrell Abbott's return to Dean Guitars was one of the many things cut far too short by his death near the end of 2004, but his many drawings and ideas have kept the guitar makers at Dean inspired. These Razorback V Standards were some of Darrell's final designs, and we're sure they will inspire you, too!

Ok, first off, I DO know what I am doing with a guitar. That said, The only flaws with this guitar is excessive filler around the V inlays and rough fret ends. Otherwise the lic. Floyd Rose is good, tuners are good and work just fine as long as you unlock the nut. The Dimebag pickup was very bass and treble heavy with a serious loss of midrange. I replaced it with a Dimarzio D Activator and it sings now! The body and neck joint seems very secure, the V neck shape is comfortable and plays fast, 16" radius is slick and fast as hell, bends or chords. You will need a setup when the guitar arrives! I repeat: it will need a setup! I play straight into a Krank Chadwick head and my tone is very clear articulate, with a midrange heavy crunch. Very underrated amp, awesome heavy tones!!!! And the red Dean Razorback V, the tone creator!!! Buy it or regret it!!!!!
This is my first Dean guitar. I thought since I liked Dimebag Darrell sound so much that it would be cool to get his signature guitar and especially since it was onsale. One major problem that I have is the guitar never stays in tune for me. Maybe it's something I am doing but I think it might be the guitar. Also the grover machine heads are nice but sometimes they wouldn't turn so I had to tighten them. There aren't 2 tone controls but you really won't need them. Overall it is a great guitar, beautiful paint job, and I would buy it again if I had the choice.
I was in my local music store the other day. I've known the owner for a few years and he alwayw ays bugs me to buy one of his guitars. I had a few minutes before my lesson so i decided to try this guitar out. I was amazed. If i had the money i would have bought it right then and there. I was playing through a fender FM series and it sounded great. It could use a better neck pickup but the dimebucker is amazing. The floyd rose was set perfectly, it wasn't too stiff but it wasn't too loose so you could rest you fingers on it. The action, feel, and play were amazing. It out-did the 2000 dollar jacksons and the prestige series ibanezes. This is a great guitar for an intermediate guitarist. Check it out!
I just got the metallic red Dean Razorback V and it ROCKS! This guitar plays like butter the neck is so smooth which makes it easy to play the sound is really great it sounds just as good as guitars that are twice the price. This is one great deal, you better get it while they still have them or else you'll regret it! Now I know I will never play another guitar unless its a Dean.
I have the Dean Razorback V and when I got it there was a slight fretting problem. But I sent it to Dean and they took care of it and dropped tuned it for me...For the price you better get this now or Oh well you Lose...I have 5 dean dime series. And I love them all.....metalnorm!!!!!!!
I have 5 Dean Dime MLs...and just bought this guitar and even tho I had to put my own pick ups in it, like all the other ones as well (I use an EMG 81/85 setup) This guitar has moved very quickly to the top of my guitar food chain. I also own 4 Jacksons...this guitar is an absolute STEAL for the money. If you're a metal guitarist...you'll love this guitar.
Buy this guitar while you can! My main guitar is a Les Paul Studio with EMG's and the Razorback V Standard is quickly becoming my main guitar. The sound is heavier than my Paul and the neck feels awsome. The only thing that I neeed to adjust to is the V shaped body when playing sitting down, but I'm quickly getting used to it.I have owned other Deans that I have liked before, but this one is something else!
I just got this guitar for my birthday a few days ago, and i love it. Ive played everything, ESP, Ibanez, Gibson, Hamer, Jay Turser, Suhr, Ran, Washburn. I have to say though Dean is NOT my favorite guitar company, I like the razorbacks and the USA models and thats it. ESP is my favorite guitar company but this guitar is a steal atm and I got the Classis Black. It looks great*duh*, sounds great, and the best part is that is plays phenominally. The neck is fantastic and i love how it sits between your legs while your standing up. I docked from Quality because the paints really thin and its not the best floyd out there. Although you can dive bomb and it has a decent flutter and all the while stays in decent tuning. The dimebucker is ok but i plan to replace it with wish an invader or a blackout. Neck pickup is great since I play alot of sweeps and taps and stuff. My recomindation is GET IT you wont regret it, especially if you have the time and money to put a little work into. Im putting a Gotoh Floyd in mine and changing the bridge pickup.
Just received this guitar and it is amazing! Great action, licensed floyd stays in tune with divebombs. Seymour duncans sound great. If you are on the fence, take my advice and wait no more.
At first, I wasn't sure about this guitar. Why would they be selling it so cheap if it was a good guitar? But once I had it in my hands, I new that this guitar is a BEAST!!! Excellent tone, excellent style. The pick-ups are PERFECT for thrash metal!!! The only thing is that it needs to be adjusted a little when you first get it. But most guitars need adjusting anyway. I highly reccomend this guitar!!
