Comments about Dean Stealth Floyd FM - Trans Brazilia w/Case:

I'm very pleased with this guitar. I've had it for just over a week now. I searched and reviewed guitars for weeks that had a balance of price ($1k max for my budget) and quality… and also came with a GOOD Floyd Rose. My observations of this guitar match EytschPi42 Youtube review of the Dean Stealth Floyd Dime Slime. I saw the video right after I'd placed my order, and was glad to see such a positive review from someone who was prepared to NOT like the guitar.

Although the Dean shape isn't for everyone, I grew up listening to some Pantera, and have a place in my heart for the iconic shape. I prefer natural colors on guitars. So I didn't want the Dime Slime Stealth. But the manufacturing must be somewhat consistent, because all of hp42's observations on the Slime Stealth matched what I found on my trans brazilia colored guitar.

The guitar body was much lighter than I'd expected which gives the instrument a slight imbalance toward the head stock. The tone out of both pickups is excellent. The guitar comes tuned to 440 with about a .040-.042 low E and a .009-.010 high E set of Strings. I don't run a super heavy metal Dime Bag tone, but the guitar sounds great with my more BLS/Zakk Wylde type tone.

Strap locks of some type are a must as my strap slipped off the front stud a few times. The toggle switch is a bit stiffer than the SwitchCraft toggle that I'm used to on my other guitar.

Overall I agree with the Youtube video. For just under $1k, you get a guitar that can compete with instruments that cost a lot more.
