This thing is beautiful. I was worried about quality not knowing much about Dean, but I am very happy and glad about purchase. Looks awesome and sounds great after i changed the strings even though they come with so D' exps i think. My guitar actually look different than the pic, mine has a more wood color head stock on it, and the rosette is the cool one that kinda looks like wheat grass or something. Very pleased!
Loved this guitar so much that I traded my 1984 Pontiac Fiero for it straight up and walked home. I have a D-28 Martin and a G-100 Gretsch and I prefer this old box over both of 'em. Both the tone and overall voice of this instrument are completely unique. I'm sold on the brand, and I will never play a show without her round my neck.
It's a great acoustic. Rich sound, different than that of most acoustics.
Whether you're a beginner, looking for a quality guitar for a decent price, or an experienced musician looking to add to your collection, this beauty is a great choice. The only thing better than the looks (the pics on here do not do it justice), is the full, bright tone. It has great midrange and highs. It's sound is very comparable to that of Taylor, Gibson, and Martin, for a fraction of the cost. Bass and lows could be better, but using quality, higher gauge strings(EXPs, Elixers) make a tremendous difference. Low action makes it very playable for beginners, and it holds it's tuning quite well. Buy it. You will not regret it.
I bought this guitar from a local shop. One of the first things that you notice is the guitar is an attractive instrument. A close look and you will notice that it appears that the guitar was put together fast. The seams where the top meets the sides is a bit choppy and the sides and rear finish does have what appears to be pin size air pockets in the finish. Overall still a very good looking guitar. The neck feels great and well suited for those with smaller hands. Very easy to manuver. The sound is fairly define so long as your playing in quiet. This guitar is not very loud. Electronics would def be a plus. The action was a bit out of whack and these was a great deal of fret buzz. For this price this is a good deal.
