Comments about Dean Vendetta 12-String Electric Guitar:
Please Note: I have no interest in jangly sounding 12-strings. I love The Beatles and The Byrds, but what I like to listen to is not what I like to play. I like it loud and dirty - closer to Sabbath and Stoner rock sounds than standard clean or jangly 12-string sounds. This one gives me exactly that! Turning up the gain on my 2x12 amp and stomping on a Boss DS-1 gets me closer than ever to the sound I hear in my head. The quality was FAR better than I expected for a mid-priced guitar - especially a 12-string. The pickings are fairly slim for a solid body 12 in this price range - that's not Dean's fault, just an industry observation. I do totally love the glossy black with white trim finish. It would be nice to have more options for someone looking for a more traditional guitar finish, or perhaps different paint colors. This is my first humbucker-equipped guitar, and I like that it's nice and quiet turned down but flat out roars like I need it to when the volume's maxed out and the distortion is rolling. I'm stunned that I'm the first to review this - I couldn't find any demos or review videos, and I took a huge chance on buying this, but I'm beyond glad that I did. I won't hesitate to by another Dean or to recommend this to a player looking for an affordable, high quality, great sounding electric 12 string
