The Dean Vendetta guitar/amp pack comes with everything you need. A guitar, firstly. A nice little 10 watt amp, cord, gig bag, tuner and picks. This is great for any starter guitarist, like I was. I learned everything I know now, on this guitar, plus it's great for the price. The rosewood fretboard agrees with your fingers and the action is not bad at all. The amp is great, especially since it can run you more to buy an amp and guitar separately. The quality of the guitar itself is great. It is extremely durable, and I know this because I abuse the thing. You can slam the neck with your fist, shake it around, and abuse the whammy bar like theres no tomorrow (trust me, I've done all of them). The amp is so/so. I do like the boost feature on it, (even though since I have bought it, I have inherited a Marshall amp from a family member which is now all I use). I've heard people complain about the gig bag, but I have had no trouble in the past lugging the guitar around with me in the gig bag. the cord frayed very easily, but I have bought another one since then, and it is always good to have an extra crappy cord lying around. I would recommend getting new picks, seeing as the ones that come with the axe are extremely fragile. The value for this guitar is unbeatable. This was undoubtedly the best money I have ever spent. I guarantee you will be absolutely satisfied with your purchase.

I ordered this for my son for Christmas. When he opened it Christmas morning, the amp wouldn't power on. He was obviously disappointed that he couldn't use it right away. He borrowed an amp from a friend and used the guitar the next day and loved it. I contacted Musician's Friend to see if I could send the amp back on it's own. I was told that wasn't possible since it was a packaged product. They sent me a return label to return the entire thing. I was also told that since I had used Paypal as my form of payment, I couldn't exchange the item, but I could return it and purchase another. I did go ahead and order another, but was surprised to find out later that it cost more than the first. When we got the replacement, the amp worked, but there was a huge chunk of wood missing from the neck of the guitar. Since it is just a starter guitar, my son decided to keep it anyway, since it was now 3 weeks after Christmas. I tracked the returned one through UPS and saw that it had been delivered, but I still hadn't received my refund. I called 3 days later and was told that the warehouse was backed up due to Christmas returns and I would get my refund when they got around to it. I'm disappointed in the product and the service. Poorly handled.

For the cost it's a good deal, Yes, I'd buy it again, The strings that come with it are like re-bar, So order a few packs of good strings and you'll have fun with it. Had a minor problem with the input jack nut coming off so check things out , make sure it's tight, aside from that, I'm very happy with it. Arrived at the time stated and in great condition.

I'm a hobbyist who wanted to play around with an electric after using acoustics primarily since I started. Wasn't sure I would like it, so I wanted an entry level package and this was definitely the right buy - fun to play, good quality, solid, I could go on. Would highly recommend for anyone else in my situation or just beginning in general!

This has 24 frets so intonation setup is necessary. Also, neck needs to be checked for elimination of fret buzz. If you are a novice, have a pro do the setup. I bought this for an extra on showsights, but I use it anytime. This is not an expensive unit, so treat it well. It should last a long time. Really, the next step up is over the top. A killer deal. I have over 30 years on stage.

Second set we bought . Red this time. This guitar can make a lot of sounds; Fender and Gibson. Great pick ups. Takes a beating in the bus and still stays tuned and ready. Good "used" condition if not excellent when received. Would be best for a teen beginner rather that tykes. We jammin.

Great guitar for the price, the stock pickups are garbage however, the bridge sounded like broken glass and the neck is far too muddy with no articulation, so id reccomend a pickup swap (i personally put a pair of seymour duncans in, and now it screams) i would also reccomend getting a new amp, i dont know if mine is just crap or they all are, but mine sounded like crinkling tinfoil and was quickly replaced with a peavey. the cable lasts for a while but should also be replaced.
ive heard different stories on what its made out of, the description itself mentions both basswood and mahogany (which it certainly isnt mahogany) and even paulownia. id say its paulownia.
everything feaurewise is fantastic except the strap buttons and tuners, the tuners are easily broken and should be turned very slowly, too quick and youll mess up the gears. the strap buttons are very small, and its dropped off the strap on many occasions (its a very tough guitar by the way) so id reccomend some dimarzio strap locks.
couldnt beat the price, get it if you want a guitar thats great for customization
