The Dean Vendetta guitar/amp pack comes with everything you need. A guitar, firstly. A nice little 10 watt amp, cord, gig bag, tuner and picks. This is great for any starter guitarist, like I was. I learned everything I know now, on this guitar, plus it's great for the price. The rosewood fretboard agrees with your fingers and the action is not bad at all. The amp is great, especially since it can run you more to buy an amp and guitar separately. The quality of the guitar itself is great. It is extremely durable, and I know this because I abuse the thing. You can slam the neck with your fist, shake it around, and abuse the whammy bar like theres no tomorrow (trust me, I've done all of them). The amp is so/so. I do like the boost feature on it, (even though since I have bought it, I have inherited a Marshall amp from a family member which is now all I use). I've heard people complain about the gig bag, but I have had no trouble in the past lugging the guitar around with me in the gig bag. the cord frayed very easily, but I have bought another one since then, and it is always good to have an extra crappy cord lying around. I would recommend getting new picks, seeing as the ones that come with the axe are extremely fragile. The value for this guitar is unbeatable. This was undoubtedly the best money I have ever spent. I guarantee you will be absolutely satisfied with your purchase.

I ordered this for my son for Christmas. When he opened it Christmas morning, the amp wouldn't power on. He was obviously disappointed that he couldn't use it right away. He borrowed an amp from a friend and used the guitar the next day and loved it. I contacted Musician's Friend to see if I could send the amp back on it's own. I was told that wasn't possible since it was a packaged product. They sent me a return label to return the entire thing. I was also told that since I had used Paypal as my form of payment, I couldn't exchange the item, but I could return it and purchase another. I did go ahead and order another, but was surprised to find out later that it cost more than the first. When we got the replacement, the amp worked, but there was a huge chunk of wood missing from the neck of the guitar. Since it is just a starter guitar, my son decided to keep it anyway, since it was now 3 weeks after Christmas. I tracked the returned one through UPS and saw that it had been delivered, but I still hadn't received my refund. I called 3 days later and was told that the warehouse was backed up due to Christmas returns and I would get my refund when they got around to it. I'm disappointed in the product and the service. Poorly handled.

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

I first bought this as my first guitar. I didn't know much about guitars before I started, so I decided to buy this because of its great reviews and it looked like a great deal. Honestly, I didn't think this guitar would be good because of its price tag. When I first opened it and plugged it into the amp, I got a great and clear sound. I was extremely surprised at the quality of the guitar. I felt that I wouldn't need any other guitar but this one and that it was perfect. I owned it for about 3 years and I'm still using it. The quality of the guitar is amazing and was a lot better than I expected. As for the amp, it was also more than I expected. At first, when I saw how small it was I expected bad quality. It was actually quite the contrary. When I plugged it in and turned the distortion up, the distortion was actually pretty good. It was better than I was expecting. Of course, a 10 watt amp isn't good enough for gigs, but this amp is an amazing practice amp. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a amp for practice, but not for gigs. The guitar however, I would recommend it to anyone. Beginners and pros alike. The guitar is amazing and so is the amp. I would recommend this package to anyone looking to start guitar.

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

Overall you get what you payed for, and more! The only thing is that I don't know how to calibrate the tuner, but other than that it's an awesome guitar/amp pack!
The guitar itself AWESOME! The amp is good for the price, and the cable is surprisingly good! I haven't used the strap very much, but it seems really good.
You get picks, amp, strap, gig bag, cable, and a tuner. Really good price for what you get!

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

ive heard differing views on waht
Great guitar for the price, the stock pickups are garbage however, the bridge sounded like broken glass and the neck is far too muddy with no articulation, so id reccomend a pickup swap (i personally put a pair of seymour duncans in, and now it screams) i would also reccomend getting a new amp, i dont know if mine is just crap or they all are, but mine sounded like crinkling tinfoil and was quickly replaced with a peavey. the cable lasts for a while but should also be replaced.
ive heard different stories on what its made out of, the description itself mentions both basswood and mahogany (which it certainly isnt mahogany) and even paulownia. id say its paulownia.
everything feaurewise is fantastic except the strap buttons and tuners, the tuners are easily broken and should be turned very slowly, too quick and youll mess up the gears. the strap buttons are very small, and its dropped off the strap on many occasions (its a very tough guitar by the way) so id reccomend some dimarzio strap locks.
couldnt beat the price, get it if you want a guitar thats great for customization

A Guitars Suited For the ANYONE

      By Neil Mayer

      from San DIego, California

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

This guitar is EXTREMELY an all-around guitar built for heavy rock, punk, and light metal. It's clean tone makes it sound like a gibson hummingbird (its true), and its distortion with the included amp is suited for ANY genre. If i had to compare this guitar with more expensive brands, this guitar has identical sound to a GIbson Les Paul (its true!!) and has suited me for 5 YEARS!!! YES, 5 YEARS!!!!!! AND ITS STILL GOING, ITS PLAIN AMAZING, I'LL GIVE YOU THAT. DOn't settle for something twice the price, when you can get this for 75% off the price!

I still like the guitar, and this is a decent package for the price. However, the width of the fretboard at the nut is only 1 5/8". I have average size hands and am having a hard time with muting strings when learning chords. May not be the best choice for someone just starting, especially if you have large hands or fingers.

        Dean Guitar Package

        By DeanMan1996

        from San Antonio

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

I purchased this a few months ago, and was blown away by it, the guitar was AMAZING! All I had to do was adjust the pickups and and tighten the springs. The sound is great, but if the volume is REALLY low, the higher strings occasionally don't pick up. And the amp, though 10W, is LOUD! the one thing i'd change is the boost. It doesn't add distortion, it just adds a WHOLE LOT of bass, for distortion, just crank the gain. One thing i did was buy an effex pedal to give me more sounds, but other than that, this package is AMAZING!!!

        See all my reviews

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

If you want out of the box crunch, this package is for you. More on that later.First off, I am very much a newbie, and just starting to learn to play again after a 20 year layoff. I will admit that I originally ordered the Epiphone Les Paul Special II package, but after seeming to be on backorder forever, I got impatient, and changed my order to this package.Quality. Guitar: The guitar itself is very nice looking. I got the red, and am very happy with the looks. The only "quality" issue I have is with the height of the volume knob. it is about 1/8" of an inch higher than the tone knob. You wouldn't think that is much, but it is very noticeable. Could be an easy fix. The action may be a little high compared to the last electric I had, but it seems to be very playable compared to the cheap acoustic I gave up on. I had to tighten the nut on the input, but that is normal. I played with the whammy a little when I first got everything setup, but if you want to stay in tune, I would not use it that much. I took the lever off completely while I am still learning.Amp: I was surprised by the quality of the amp. If you like distortion, this amp has plenty without an effects peddle, almost too much. I have found it hard to get a "clean" sound. I know this package is geared towards heavy rock/metal, but it would be nice to get a clean tone when trying to get each string of a chord to ring when just starting. You can get heavy distortion with the gain turned to 5, turn on the boost, and you have more than enough. if that is the sound you are looking for, this is the package for you. Plenty of crunch without a peddle. The Rest: Plan on getting a different cable. The one that comes with the pack is very thin, and only about 9' long. Good for plugging into a tuner, but not much else. Speaking of the tuner, I would recommend getting a different one. I happened to have a decent one from my cheap acoustic, and use that one instead of the one included. It is nice to have one with a "needle" so you can see if you are getting close. The strap is just fine and comfy, the gig bag is ok, but would have rather of had them leave that out and include a better tuner.Overall I believe it is a "good" package for the money. The guitar seems to stay in tune fairly well, and should get better after the strings are broken in, as long as you stay off the whammy. I was pleased with the amp. It's not one you are going to perform with, but more than good enough to practice with. Again, if you want out of the box crunch for very little money, this is a very good deal.

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

I was looking for a guitar package to start out with, and I came across this. I looked up a few things about it, and I think it will be perfect to start out. I heard the strings aren't that good, so I'm getting power slinkies for drop tuning. Also heard the cable and strap suck, so I'm getting replacements. Overall, I am looking forward to getting this guitar.

Would highly recommend for anyone else in my situation or just beginning in general!

Comments about Dean Vendetta Guitar & Amp Pack:

I purchased this dean vendetta package because I wanted to start playing guitar again after a 3year break. My budget was low so I went with this guitar. I wasn't expecting much and I had my fingers crossed that It wouldn't sound as terrible as the Fender Squier that cost more then this dean. And when the guitar came to my door and I pulled it out the only problem was a minor chip of wood at the tip of the neck. After tuning this guitar and getting it ready to test I was rather impressed. This guitar sounded 10x better then I thought. I would recommend this guitar to beginners and even pros who play on stage. Obviously a new amp would be needed for a pro, but anyone just starting to play this amp is perfect! Overall I'm very impressed... Dean has never let me down before!

the dean vendetta is a very good guitar for the price the neck is smooth and thin for fast action the guitar stays in tune pretty good the tremelo holds good and the guitar stays in tune pretty good even when you use the temelo arm the amp is decent with good gain i still perfer to use a pedal but the tuner is a sinple letter with just eadgb on it so you cant tune to drop c with it unless you can do it by ear whicxh isnt to hard but the strap sucks dosnt feel right to me i just use my old one works fine the guitar is a nice lightweight guitar i recomend it for anybody that wants to play even to people that havent played before so i give it a 5 out of 5.
