Take the advice of an old picker who builds hot rod guitars and amps. Get one of these. Better, get two. You will probably wear the frets out from playing this guitar so much, so get another one while the price is right.
I have played for 50 (yes, 50) years and owned Gibsons, Fenders and everything in between, but this Dean is in a class by itself. It can growl like a Gibson, be played finger style like a Gretsch, scream like a Fender Strat and even sounds good playing a rhythm track. Mine was good right out vof the box, but I tweaked the set-up a little and got more volume and a little better playing action. I don't think I will change pickups or anything because I'm completely satisfied with the guitar as is.
The quality is great!! A few years ago I would not play anything but a U.S.A. made guitar, but the imports have improved to the point where I own six of them and hardly ever play my Gretsch or two custom built electric guitars. I can hang in there with any guitar using any amp. (I have Fender, Kustom, Vox and one custom built amp.) This is one of the best playing and sounding guitars I've ever seen and it is my favorite.
I can't believe a great guitar like my Dean XMT with the vintage tremolo can be made and sold for the low cost. I would pay more than double the price for this guitar. It is perfect in every way and the quality has to be seen to be appreciated.

    Great Beginner Guitar

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

I got this as my very first guitar aside from a cheap strat knockoff that i never playIts a very nice guitar for the price and it has ore sustain than the natural wood that is alot lighter which a friend hasThe pickups sounded quite nice from the factory but i swapped them out for dimarzio dp100 super distortion and dp159 evolution and it sounds great with way better harmonics than my dean deceiver fmf with emg 81 and 85 pickupsThe guitar doesnt stay in tune very well but an inexpensive set of tuners would fix it right upThe neck feels pretty well although it is much more thick than my deceiver but also costed less I have the black painted one and for a cheap guitar it looks quite nice I use this guitar for all my drop tuning playing since my Deceiver is a pain to tune because it has locking tuners and everyone that i let play it says they love the guitar equipped with the dimarzios and 2 of my friends have bought them after playing mine...one of which even prefers it to his schecter C-1 :-)

    Best guitar for the price!!!

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

well i bought this guitar a few weeks ago. I got to say that it was the best choice i have ever made in my life this guitar has everything that a guitarist wants, 2 humbuckers, 24 frets!!!, a great body, and you can create a variety of sounds with it. But every guitar has its disadvantages. When you use the whammy bar on this guitar the string go out of tune. But i found a way to fix it without having it to take it to a music store. Everybody says that it gets out of tune because of the spring tension. But the main problem is in the nut and the saddlers. All you need to do is buy a lubricant for guitars and lubricate the nut and the saddlers and BOOOOOM its fixed!!!! i hope this helps a lot nad again this is a great guitar!!!!

    Great

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

To start off I have to say that the Dean Vendetta was a great choice. It has a nice glossy finish and I love the 24 frets. The pickups are good for the price but aren't great by any standards so I had them replaced. The tremolo is very tight and the guitar tends to go out of tune pretty fast. It sounds great for the price however. I liked it from the second I took it out of the box.

    They sent the wrong guitar

    By Shoiym

    from Cincinnasty, Ohio

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

I ordered this guitar and received another. I received a seven string non-tremolo version. They cost more but I really find the seventh string useless. I didn't want to bother repackaging the thing so I kept it. The seven keys are heavy and the nose dives. These guitars are made of a really lightweight wood in the body. The sound is really good on this guitar and I do like it. I feel forced to buy a six string trem version to enjoy what I wanted. Package says "Inspected" obviously not very well. I will keep this seven string but it is not what I wanted. At the price I got I would be stupid to return it as it costs more than this six string version.

    Great to Start with

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

I got this guitar a little less than a year ago. out of the box it was great, finish was good, i got it in metallic red. The frets are great i had no action problems. It sounds great in standard, drop D or drop C. very versatile and options are good.My switch was loose, when i tightened it i lost the neck pickup entirely, frustrating for a while, but further tightening solved the problem. As far as he pickups go, the stocks were GREAT for metal. but flip it to clean and it was muddy. not a great sound and was so annoying i ripped mine out and put in some Ibanez S series stock pickups.I have read from other customers that they had issues with the input jack. I am no exception. I had to remove it to mess with it because my sound kept cutting out. Now my screw that holds the jack in place has fallen out and i have to replace it. No big deal. The neck plays real nice, its smooth and perfect for rhythm and solos. super light weight like its not even there, but it still stays pretty durable. except for my strap screw hole is stripped, and it slips out occasionally. For a first guitar as far as metal heads go i would strongly recommend this.

    From a very pleased beginner

    By David D-hmhga

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

This is my 2nd electric guitar, my first is a Fender Sratacaster (2single coils + 1 humbucker). The Vendetta XMT with its (dual humbuckers) has a superior sound, no matter what posistion the pick-up selector is at. Upon its arrival, I took it to my friends son (playing 7yrs) for inspection and of-course his opion. While in his capable hands it delivered up serious chunk - which is why I bought it- but it was also capable of very nice clean tones as well. He also gave it two thumbs up, and was even more impressed when I told him what I paid for it. Although he did try the tremolo bar which came with the guitar, he didn't comment on it much more than saying (he just wanted to see if it worked, and that he never really uses whammy-bars). Iv'e never used it; so I really cant say much about it either - other than it did seem to work. I got the transparent flat black finish, it allows the wood-grain to be seen in brighter lighting. It's a look I happen to like very much and have only seen on Dean guitars. Iv'e been told it wouldn't hurt to spend 20 bucks on some higher quality volume + tone (pots), but I feel if its not broke why fix it. And by the way everything does work great; but the pick-up selector switch was a little loose out of the box - and it took a couple of minutes to tighten up. So, in my humble (beginner) opinion, I would buy it agian. I love it. I read many reviews before buying this Vendetta, for me it seemed the best in its price range, and maybe better than some of the other more costly guitars. P.S. It doesn't weigh as much as my Fender or my friends Jackson, but don't let that fool you this is a quality product. I find that I can actually play it longer with less fatigue. I hope this review was helpful.

Not as good as I thought it would be

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

I bought this guitar a month ago and when I ordered it I was very exited the first thing that struck me as soon as I got it out of the box was the "made in China" sticker my expectations dropped when I saw that the second thing I noticed was it was dented already that upset me, then I noticed how light it was TOO light my suspicions were correct it dents very easily. I do like the guitar though it plays well and sounds good however its been a month and now I have a serious problem I can't fret the third fret I get a horrible buzzing sound and it really interferes with my playing hopefully I can get it fixed but if I have to replace my month old guitar I will be very upset

    Not to great

    By WISHIHADABETTERGUITAR

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Vintage Tremolo:

I bought this guitar just as a starter, so i dint expect much specially from a cheaper dean, and i got what i suspected.Everything stays in tune alright but the neck is slow and almost sticky... not cool, its ok for rythim but not mich else. the nut catches the strings when you use the tremolo so you end up playing like thee different strings. The strings that it came with broke after useing the trem! So if you buy this buy new strings to! For the money buy a cheap jackson or ibanez they are always good.
