4 channels with selectable voicing for maximum versatility.
Each of the Egnater Tourmaster guitar amp's channels has an identical set of controls, but that is where the similarities end.
Clean/Vintage 1 is the cleanest of the four. Within this channel lives a range of Classic tones ranging from pristine sparkle with the voicing switch set to MODERN to a punchy, aggressive drive (think clean JTM) in the CLASSIC mode. Pressing the button to activate the CONTOUR control opens an entire new range of beautiful clean, almost acoustic, tones not often found in a tube amplifier.
Clean/Vintage 2 has a very similar voicing to the Clean/Vintage 1 channel. This channel has more gain, so it can be pushed into mild overdrive. Sweet blues and classic rock tones are easily coaxed out of this channel. The contour knob adds another level of unique flavors.
Overdrive 1: From AC/DC crunch to modern rock, this channel covers a lot of bases all by itself. Dial down the gain and the feel is pure classic rock. Push the gain and enter into more modern, saturated territory. Scoop the mids with the CONTOUR control for monstrous metal or set it for classic British rhythm.
Overdrive 2: The Tourmaster's most intense channel, you'll find ferocious gain with a wide range of tones to suit the '80s shredder as well as the heaviest modern metal player. Scoop the mids with the powerful CONTOUR control for massive crunch or push the midrange for a solo tone that cuts through with serious authority.
Power Grid: This is a really cool feature your will only find on the Egnater Tourmaster amps. Using a group of 5 slide switches on the rear panel, you can set the power output for each channel individually. There is a 3-position slide switch corresponding to each of the four channels and a single FULL POWER/ HALF POWER slide switch. In FULL POWER mode, you can choose between 100w, 50w or 25w per channel. In the HALF POWER mode, you can between choose 50w, 25w or 10w per channel.
With the Tourmaster 4212 tube amp, you not only have a wide array of tones available from the preamp channels, but with the Power Grid you can introduce any amount of power tube distortion you wish to each channel: all preset, all automatic.
The Tourmaster 4212 amplifier is loaded with custom-voiced Egnater Elite-80 speakers from Celestion, and includes heavy duty detachable casters and metal slide handles.

Maybe Bad Luck, Maybe Not

Four different channels to tweak. Two cleans/ two overdrives, each with a Modern/Classic option. Four foot-switchable sounds, 8 configurable overall. It's hard NOT to find a great tone with this amp.
Beware, not all parts made in USA.
This is an excellent price for what you get. Four-channel tube amp: a great idea for a great price.
Maybe I had bad luck with my Egnater 4212 combo. I've owned it for less than two years,
and has been in the shop twice for a burnt power rectifier. The fuse would blow, and then it would not turn on. I would replace the fuse and it would blow again. I was told by repairman that internal parts are all made in China, and not built to last. I guess that's par for the course with most products these days anyway. Anyway, on my second time in the shop, I noticed someone else had dropped off theirs for repair too! Coincidence?
Also, this amp is a back-breaker, weighing in at 95 pounds. If you gig regularly, it gets old lugging this beast around.
Anyway, I'm selling mine as soon as it gets out of the shop. Let someone with more time lug this thing into the repair shop.
Also I live in Boston, and surprised at the lack of Authorized Service Techs that cover Egnater warranties. I had to drive a long way for service.
To Egnater's credit, the customer service is decent(they actually answer the phone when you call), and they backup the lifetime warranty.
And to support the other reviews here, this is a great sounding amp.
The tone shaping options on each channgel is great. Having four channels to tweak is certainly valuable.
I could have just had bad luck with my amp, but something tells me this particular amp is not going to last as long as your old Fender Twin.
Not worth the dough, better amps for the price

Lots of features, especially the ability to dial down each channel's power.
Solid, well built
Not that great of a sound. The first and second channel and very close. The third channel is a crunch that can be obtained through most good pedals. The lead channel screams, that's the best one. But overall, the sound is no better than a Fender DeVille with a few choice pedals. I am comparing it to the Blackstar HT-60 which I have and the Bogner Shiva. Shiva is quite a bit more money but blows this amp away. Blackstar is about even with it, but costs a lot less.
Overall, I will dissent from the others and say this amp is so-so in sound. I was expecting much better when I ordered it, but ended up returning it after a few hours of playing around.
Egnater Tourmaster 4212 - AMAZING

Excellent. I am planning to get another smaller Egnateror 2-channel head and cab for gigs and leaving my combo at home for practice since it weighs a ton.
Amazing amp. So versatile and can fit any genre of music and is LOUD!
Excellent. Great tone! The lows sound great the highs are crisp, from the cleanest channel to the dirtiest. Wattage grid on the back helps immensely. You can't really tell the difference until you turn the volume past approximate the 10 o'clock mark. The record out feature is great too. Only a little bit of the tone is lost, but it is miniscule and when recording, you add anything that's lacking. Footpedal is solid enough and the lights are bright enough to see in bright light. FX works great and I love the controls for the FX loops in the back of the amp. Of course, the tube mix knobs as well as the Classic and Modern selectors is what really makes this amp shine.
The bad thing about this amp is that it weighs what seems to be as much as a house! Of course, when you have 12 tubes, what do you expect. I should have thought a little long about it and gotten the head and a 2x12 cab. Luckily it comes with wheels, which aren't the best. I'd advise replacing them with more rubbery wheels to make it smoother.
Handles are made well and heavy duty. The inputs and outputs seem to be pretty durable too.
I'd say, for the price, it's a great value as you're getting a few amps in one.
