I own 22 guitars. They run the full gamet of vintage and modern from Gibson Les Paul Customs to Fender teles, to Jacksons, Ibanez, and ESP and from $6000 to $600. I have never, I repeat, never played a guitar better than the two Epiphone signature models I just purchased. I own the Joe Perry Boneyard and this Ace Frehley edition. My Silverburst Les Paul Custom (Gibson 1984) with original PAF pickups doesn't in any way outshine either of these two beauties. They are tonally superior to every Jackson and ESP I have. Unbelievable tone and sustain accompanies any Epiphone signature model. I have played the Zakk Wylde Les Paul too. It is also wonderful, but not quite as artist authentic as the Joe Perry or Ace Frehley. Do yourself a favor, and ignore the impulse to save for the Gibson headstock and buy one of these signature models. You won't regret it.

I have played "Lead Guitar" for more than 20 years. I own a first edition model of this guitar. It is beautiful, and sounds great, but the quality of this guitar is not what it should be. The action won't adjust as low as a "quality guitar" should, either. Do not pay list price for this guitar. Don't get me wrong, I like the guitar. I'd just like it more if I paid less, what it's actually worth!

i got lucky

By sixstringpsycho

I recently purchased this guitar, and I?m blown away buy it, not only is it in near mint condition (it?s a 2001 model as well) but the actually guitar is out of my price range and looks and sounds even further out! I haven?t put it down since the purchase and am blown away; I would certainly recommend this guitar to anyone from intermediate to professional.

no regular les paul

By Jiggetybop Shalome

Since I got this guitar in the summer of 2005 I have had no problems with it. The guitar is beautiful to look at and plays as well as a guitar twice its price. All the hardware is chrome and unlike the picture above mine game with chrome rounded Grover tuners. NO other les Paul comes with Diarize hum buckers and they sound great. The guitars flamed top is great and the back is as reflective as a mirror.

You wanted the best.........

I bought this guitar at the end of December 2006. After a lot of messing around with the set up from the factory I got it dialed in and perfection. The guitar is awesome. With 3 Dimarzio Super Distortion pick-ups it kicks out. The selector switch set in the center all three pick-ups are on and it is loud. The down side is you really can't get much tone adjustment out of it on that setting.

My Curely

By Al-ipWw7

I bought my Ace Frehley Epiphone a couple of years ago. My son has borrowed it when off and on, now 18 years he wants one on his own. It sounds chunky and powerful. The pickups in combination with it's body give it great sustain. We both use it. Good Value and craftsmanship!

Probably The Best Rock Guitar Ever!!

By FrehleyFreak

from Royalston, MA

Anyone who loves Ace, and loves Les Pauls, buy this guitar! It plays so unbelieveably awesome right out of the box!!(might wanna get some Gibson Vintage Reissue VR9 strings to put on it)It even sounds great on the clean channel! Action is right there out of the box! The finish is so beautiful, I just have such a big smile thinking of it now!

Great tone and sustain

By Patrick-6VIQF

For the price, the guitar not only has great action and feel, but the tone and sustain makes it seem like the Gibson version of the Les Paul.

Bang for your buck

By Bluesrocker2286

from Converse, TX

I had a seymour duncan distortion in the bridge with the Dimarzio pickups that it already has. Also I had grover tuners placed on it. Not much difference between this guitar and a Gibson, if any.
