AJ-220S - Worth it...

Some string buzz, raised the action by loosening the truss rod now plays great with no buzz. Put some Elixar Lights on it also, sounds great. Not much sustain, but that's comparing it to my Martin D-18, apples and oranges.... The finish looks awesome and I am a huge fan of the satin neck, very slick and fast playing, not sticky at all like some high gloss finished guitar necks. I'm very pleased with the purchase and would buy another one without a doubt. Try it, you can always send it back but I doubt you'll need to.

This is the second Epiphone AJ-220s I've purchased from Musician's Friend. I kept the first one even though it had a rattle you could hear near the headstock. It was the truss rod, and it was engaged. I foolishly kept that one instead of returning it. I sold it at a loss.
The 2nd AJ-220s I just purchased was horrible. Fret buzz all up and down the neck. I checked the truss rod and it wasn't even engaged. And the solid wood top was of the lowest quality. Needless to say this one's going back to MF.
Hopefully the third one will be the charm. Epiphone does make good guitars, especially for the money. But I'd be very hesitant to recommend this model. I'm glad Musician's Friend has a good return policy. You just might need it.

Comments about Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar:
This is the one of the beat guitars you will ever get at this price range. It's got great action, superb sound, stays in tune, and looks killer. This guitar sounds better than most guitars I have played with that cost double or triple. It is extremely fun to play, and has actually made me a better musician. It looks to be very well constructed, and I have found no cons with this instrument as of yet. And for the price, I won't feel guilty beating it up. I am very happy with this purchase, and definitely recommend this axe.

Comments about Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar:
I went out to my local guitar shop, as I usually do at least once a week. I rarely buy anything, I just jam out on their guitars and see if there is anything I might want in the future. I picked this one up and knew right away that it was a great guitar. I bought it on the spot. Everything about this guitar is perfect. The tone is fantastic, it has a great overall sound, and is built extremely well. I have six guitars, this one being my best, and four of my other ones cost more than this. This guitar is a great deal, snatch it up when you get the chance, you won't regret it!

Comments about Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar:
I went to a Musician's Friend owned retail store today and looked at this guitar with a co worker who was wanting to get a guitar to learn to play. I played 4 different guitars, and we took this one home. Plays well, nice deep and warm tones, good action, and stayed in tune well. The best guitar we played at this price point.

I saw the infomercial video Epiphone sent through my email and I just had to try it, cause I couldn't believe it had fooled all those musicians. Beautiful, great sounding, and dirt cheap the perfect combination for me. This is my everyday guitar to help save some wear on my higher end vintage guitars.

Comments about Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar:
Great value for the price. Nice low action - mine had NO BUZZES all up and down the fretboard. Good little "cabin guitar" - for when you just gotta have one around. Had mine sent to my folks house 1,100 miles away so I wouldn't have to travel with a guitar on airplanes. Delightful instrument, lived up to and exceeded my expectations - its not a Gibson, and I wish it was short scale, but this was a fun little purchase. Thanks MF, ya done good ! (I'm gonna get another one and send it to my In-Laws house.)

Comments about Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar:
Excellent depth and range of sound after changing to lighter strings and a minor trussrod adjustment. Plays easy and sounds great, especially for the price. Volume sounds like it is amplified.
