OVERVIEW

A modern take on the popular 200 jumbo style at a price that makes it affordable for anyone.

There's something magical about the big-bodied, all-maple jumbo “200” acoustic guitar. It’s got a classic sound and classic look that has powered hits in rock, pop, and country for over 75 years. Now the Epiphone 2014 Limited Edition EJ-200 Artist offers you all that magic for less money.

The King of the Flat Tops, Reborn
The “200” jumbo style might be the world’s most famous acoustic guitar, known equally for its majestic look and focused, complex sound. Since the late 1930s, many of the great rhythm guitarists and singers have made the “200” their primary acoustic instrument both on stage, on recordings, and even on record covers, including Don Everly, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley, Gram Parsons, Buddy Holly, and Pete Townshend who used a “200” Jumbo to compose the songs for The Who's rock opera Tommy. The “200” Jumbo acoustic guitar is still a must-have for guitarists in every genre of music. And now the Ltd. Ed. “EJ-200 Artist” makes that classic sound affordable to everyone.

Based on Epiphone's legendary EJ-200, the Ltd. Ed. “EJ-200 Artist” features the same “Jumbo” body as the original with a select spruce top with hand-scalloped bracing for superior tone along with select maple back and sides which not only support the top but also help amplify its classic full-bodied tone.

The body has 6-layer black and white binding and the easy-to-play hard maple neck has a 25.5” scale length with medium frets with a 1960s SlimTaper profile that makes playing chords and rhythm easy. The hand-glued dovetail neck joint also contributes to the EJ-200 Artist’s deep rich bass, clear mids, and brilliant highs that fill a room with jumbo-sized projection and volume. The solid rosewood fingerboard is fully bound and inlaid with pearloid dot inlays for a simple but elegant look. Its reverse belly rosewood bridge has a compensated saddle for solid intonation and tone. Choose from a variety of finishes from the drop-down menu.

Tuning is made easy, reliable, and intuitive with Epiphone's precision 18:1 ratio vintage style "Deluxe" tuners. The back of the headstock has a “Limited Edition” logo and the front of the headstock has a '60s era “Epiphone” logo.

Quality You Can Trust
Backed by Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson's famous 24/7/365 Customer Service, you can rest assured that your Ltd. Ed. “EJ-200 Artist” will have jumbo sound without any jumbo worries. But hurry, this is a Limited Edition model and won't last long.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200 Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I purchased this guitar as a restock, listed as "mint condition". However, the pick guard was well worn around the edges and the fret board was very dry in appearance. I am not one for eye candy, I kept it. Exceptional sounds, good action and, hopefully, an excellent value. There was to be "Limited Edition" stamped on the headstock, but was missing from mine. And yes, this is a big guitar with a big sound. I purchased the acoustic gig bag from Musicians Friend and it does fit this guitar nicely. I do love this guitar. Fun to play, great sound and easy action. And that's the bottom line.

The guitar I recieved, was flawless, The pictures on the site don't do this guitar justice. The sound is very BIG, I never heard an acoustic so loud. The action was perfect for me, out of the box. Musicians Friend, shiped the guitar lightning fast too! If you are thinking of buying this guitar do it you won't be disappointed!!!

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200 Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I got this guitar to get back into playing and have a guitar in my apartment. I don't consider it as good as a guitar costing more but that being said I enjoy having this guitar to play. It does a good job for a beginner or like me getting back into playing after a short break.

Well built, great sound, comes with 12's, 13's will improve dynamics. single piece back veneer and poor neck/peghead wood choice are visual negatives. I have decided to keep based on sound but disappointed in asthetics. I expect better from Epi...

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200 Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this on line, and the first guitar was defective. Guitar Center and Musicians Friend were very helpful in replacing the guitar. I'm still get into it, and letting the guitar settle. My experience with Epiphone is they have nice guitars, love the tone and feel, but depending on where they are made the guitar can be an amazing bargain, or a fair weather friend. I'm hoping this will be a keeper!

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200 Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I always wanted a 'super jumbo' so I jumped at the chance to get one at this price the last time MF had a batch of these EJ200s.
It's loud and sounds good. Looks great, too.
Mine was set up real well out of the box & didn't need any adjusting. The action is low but doesn't buzz anywhere.
I might buy another one in Sunburst this time. (I got Natural before).
The hardest part about owning an EJ200 is finding a case or gig bag that doesn't cost at least half as much as the guitar!
