...I received this guitar last year. I decided to play it for a year and then give it a review. I play about 275 shows a year in various size venues both inside and outside, year round, alone in a solo setting as well as in acoustic duos, trios and in full production bands. I have used this guitar in all of those live performance situations as well as numerous recording situations and general 'around-the-house' playing. So, how did it hold up? This is a absolutely great guitar. For years I have dreamed of owning a Gibson J200, but I actually play music for a living and it is my only source of income, so the price has just been too prohibitive. The price on this guitar is ridiculously affordable, well within anyone's ability wiling to save up for a few weeks. The sound of this instrument both plugged in and unplugged is pretty diverse. The two pickups blend well and stand alone fine. The stereo function is a real plus. I experiment with two gtr cables and blend two channels on my mixer with various settings and slightly different effects. It's about the funnest guitar to play that I have ever owned. The body is very well constructed and light, especially for a jumbo bodied guitar. I've had to do seasonal adjustments on the neck, but I have never owned a guitar that didn't require this.It is a great sounding guitar with an ease of playability that is usually reserved for guitars I've played worth thousands of dollars. When it comes to the looks of the guitar... I have a black one with gold hardware and it is a beauty. I get comments on it everytime I take it out of its case at a show. I can't bear to keep it in it's case when I am home. I always seem to have it within arms reach or at least in my line of sight. If you do buy this one, you will definately have to buy the case that goes with it as not many genaric cases will fit around this big guitar. The case I bought for mine provides great protection, but one of the clasps doesn't fasten (had to be something). After one year of dragging this guitar from gig to gig and session to session I can truely say that this is one thing I have bought in the past 5 years that has actually been worth the money spent. I would highly recomend this for songwriters as wll. Strum one chod on ths, and you'll feel like writing a song with it. A pure joy to play.

Don't buy this thing. If you want a jumbo, shell out for a nice one. This one will not last.
Well Epiphone and I have been through alot together. Played many many shows with epiphone guitars and they have all been great... Until this one. Got this baby and plugged it in just over a year ago and it sounded great. The 2 pickups really gives it a good rich tone. Sounded great and played several shows with it. Now just after my warranty is up... The electronics in it have gone bad. This has angered my beyond belief. I would expect a pickup out of a $200 guitar to last 1 year, but this is pathetic. This will be my last Epiphone purchase. I don't recommend buying this.
Good for 1 year until all electronics died suddenly
worth about $100. Might as well consider it just an acoustic as apposed to an Electic Acoustic.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I've been playing this guitar for about three months now. It is, by far, the best guitar I've ever owned. In my opinion, this is the best guitar on the market in this price range.
Sounds great unplugged as well as plugged in.
Mine has different electronics - it doesn't have the E-sonic. It has the Elan-4TN electronics system. I'm not sure if that is new or if maybe the E-sonic replaced this system.
I can't figure out how to get the tuner to work properly - it's possible the battery needs changed or something. But this guitar stays in tune very well.
Physically, it looks like a Gibson. Epiphone is, of course, owned by Gibson and is a sister company. This is the Epiphone version of the Gibson J-200. The only real difference is that this guitar (mine anyway) was made in Indonesia and the Gibson J-200 is hand-made in Nashville. And this guitar is over three-thousand cheaper. I've played both of them and there is very little difference in tone. Gibson does use a higher quality wood and it's solid whereas this guitar has a spruce top and maple back and sides.
The finish is gorgeous and it looks much more expensive than it actually is.
Out of the box, I changed the stock strings to Black Diamond lights (11s. The guitar comes with 12s I think). That elimited a buzz on the low E string. I also had it adjusted just slightly and it sounds great. Maple will mellow out over time, so give it a chance.
I play a lot and I play hard (classic rock, progressive rock, Roy Orbison style rockabilly) so I change the strings once a month.
Fantastic guitar at this price. It's not a Gibson but it might as well be.
Mine is the Vintage Sunburst color.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
My first epi was built in Kalamazoo. Folk size and a friend still has it on his wall for my return someday but for now my 200 was put together in a far off land and setup by Gibson. The brass on the frets were sharp but a titanium file fix that quick. A set of light Elixir strings and it as good as it gets for a file and a set of strings.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Great Looking "eye candy" Guitar lot of flair
Good sounding guitar limited resonance
Versatile player bluegrass, counry, western, blues, folk styles.
Construction: selected Top; select Spruce means, it does not mean that it is Laminate. It is solid wood, just not of the same cut. Which means it will have different grain patterns, that is all.
This guitar lookd like a Gibson J-200 and plays like a Epi DR-100. I had thrre of them two from China and one from Indonesia in SNBT and BLK.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I owned a GIBSON DOVE CUSTOM, that I purchased in 1972, and sold it in 2011. I have to say that this EJ-200CE actually plays and sounds better. I am very pleased that this could even happen, and also very surprised. I chose the Natural Finish.

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Ok so I got this guitar about a month ago and I have not put it down since. I have played many guitars through out my 10 years of playing and for a good guitar on a budget you cannot go wrong.
Pros
Due to the size of the guitar you definatly get a richer sound.
The electronics allow you to fine tune how you want to sound over a PA system.
The action of the guitar when it arrived was almost perfect (I tend to fine tune it to my preferences.)
Cons
Size (if you have trouble playing a Dreadnought or jumbo guitar this is not a guitar for you.)
The batteries that this guitar take are button cell batteries which was more unexpected but can cause issues if you don't have spare batteries at a gig.
Overall I truly enjoy this guitar the play and feel are exactly what I am looking for on a guitar on a budget. I will be updating this review in a few months to see if I will change my mind.
Pros
- Action Like An Electric
- Looks beautiful
- Sounds Great
Cons

Comments about Epiphone EJ-200CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
First off, I am no means a great guitarist or feel my option should away you one way or the other. The guitar itself is beautiful and has a nice finish. This would be a 4 or possibly a 5 star guitar but upon receiving the guitar it has a loud buzz on the low E string. I know this will be fixed when I take it in to be tuned but that is going to cost me more money. However, I still love this guitar and would recommend it.
