I've been playing this for 2 solid weeks and couldn't be happier with this ES-175. Great job Epiphone.
This guitar has all the features you'd expect on a quality guitar. If you want a hollowbody, you need to try this one. I tried the Emperor Regent but it has only the 1 pickup in the neck position. They and all 1 pickup models are not good for chordwork due to the limited and bassy tone. (They'd be fine for jazz solos.) The tone & volume controls, the beautiful finish, the tuners, the solid feel are some of the reasons that this model is really nice. Evan at twice this price it's a great guitar.
It did not come with the case included and I was unable to find one at MF website. It is an Epiphone model #eemcs and can be bought at zzounds.com for under a hundred.
My experience is mostly with strats, gibson acoustics, a les paul and also trying countless guitars. I owned 2 other Epis before and didn't warm up to them because they were bassy, having just the 1 neck pickup and they were difficult to tune. Not true with this model. The tuners seem very good and the guitar stays in tune well. I'm picky about tuning and I love the ES-175. The finish is very good. I was very surprised at how glossy and beautiful the guitar is.
This guitar has to be rated a solid 10 for value in my opinion. I don't remember trying another guitar that delivered so much quality for so little money. (well, except for the Squire Affinity Tele at less than 2 hundred). I did try a Gibson ES-137 which I liked but the action was not real good and the price is prohibitive.

Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
I don't usually write gear reviews, as most of the things I've bought have met my expectations of value vs. expense.
But this Epiphone ES-175 does not. It is one of the few pieces of musical gear I've ever come across whose value far outweighs it's price!
As others have said, this is a GREAT guitar for the price. The workmanship is exceptional. I've only experienced a little problem with the pickguard buzzing against the bridge pickup. Solved that with a little sliver of self-adhesive cork in between them.
The intonation was spot-on right out of the box. I did have to adjust the truss rod a little bit, but that's a simple fix and now I don't have any buzz on any of the frets.
Put on a set of D'addario XL chrome mediums (flatwound) and the guitar sounds great.
I'm extremely impressed. Fantastic quality in this guitar for the price.

Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
Can't comment on the strings as I always replace them (Ernie Ball 2208 11's in this case), but the rest of the guitar is perfect, no finish flaws, great sound, nice finish on the frets. I have never set up a floating bridge guitar before, but it wasn't too bad. A little patience and the intonation is perfect. Great tone, playing with the controls gets you alot of variation. I love it!

Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
Of all the many new and vintage guitars I own, this is my favorite. The Epiphone ES-175 is one of Epi's more expensive guitars, but it's a terrific bargain compared to anything like it made by anyone else. It harkens back to the great Epiphones of the 1930's. The only really bad thing you could say is they are out of production and in time, you won't be able to get one. It would have been nice if it was offered in "natural" and with P-90's, but having one of these beats the heck out of having NONE of these. Even my ex appreciated this guitar. I had two and she stole BOTH of them! I can't fault her taste in guitars, though.

Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
This guitar is the real deal. My Epi ES-175 reissue is gorgeous in sound and looks, a true pleasure to play--and stunning at this price. The quality control on mine was perfect: construction is solid and clean; fit and finish are immaculate; set-up was spot on (for the strings with which delivered); tone is rich at the neck and has a nice crunch at the bridge. Hardware is very good, especially the tuners. (Looking hard, only the volume/tone knobs seem not as nice; may be a bit on the heavy side for some--but I play it sitting anyway.) It is a beautiful guitar.

Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
Great quality and exceptional value.
This is a nice gigging replacement for my Gibson ES-175
That I am much less worried about.
Solid feel and nice warm tones.
Neck has great feel and shape.
Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
I think this guitar is worth the price and although I have others, I play it on a regular basis.
The features are what I expected to come with this "Jazz Box". Grover keys, tune-o-matic bridge, strap pegs, bound neck, retro style tail piece and a really nice sun burst finsh make this a great looking guitar.
It played well out of the box but needed minor adjustment to intonation. A change to a set of #12 D'Addario flat wounds made this a very pleasing package. I did feel that an upgraded pup was in order and so replaced the neck postion with a Seymour-Duncan Jazz.
A slight buzz from the pick guard at the bridge pup was fixed with a slice of cork from my favorite Charddonay.
All in all, I am happy with this purchase. Be reminded though that this is a thick body guitar and may be a little heavier than you expected. I use this guitar in my studio and therefore always sit down to play. Some may find that "standing up" is not comfortable.
Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
I own a couple of Epi's and the other is am American made Gigson Epi 335. The 335 came with rather cheap tuning machines and pickups but other than that it is built like a tank. The ES-175 reissue on the other hand is sweet. It is a quality made guitar with Grover tuning machines and potted pickups that sound good out of the box. I bought this guitar as I needed a good jazz guitar that wouldn't break the bank and this definitely filled the bill. The Florentine cutaway is beautiful as well. It came strung from the factory with 11's and a wound 3r'd which were too light for the sound I was trying to achieve. I immediately strung it up with a nice set of DR Flatwound 13's and this required me to set the action and intonation however once I got it setup it plays and sounds like a dream. I cannot believe that Epiphone can offer such a high quality guitar at such a low price and quality control was on the job the day mine was built as there are no buzzes ot rattles etc. Prior to purchasing this guitar I did my homework and read nothing but rave reviews regarding this instrument and I highly recommend this for guitarists of all levels. It's just a sweet guitar period and sounds great right out of the box. Mine has a limited edition custom shop sticker on the back of the headstock which would lead one to assume that it won't be in production for long or the price will rise drastically in the near future. Epiphone has hit a home run out of the park with this little gem and by the way the guitar is a bit heavy!
Comments about Epiphone ES-175 Reissue Electric Guitar:
This is a great sounding Jazz box, and a bargain for the money. Mine is about 4 years old and made in Korea's custom shop. Smooth Jazz sounds, and on the treble pickup a nice Spanish sounding electric.
Epiphone has put this in the out of production listing, so if you can find one new out there, they are probably not going to be around much longer.
