so i bought this guitar about 5 years ago, it was one of the very first guitars i had ever bought by myself, so there is a little pride in me when i see it. everytime i look at this guitar it holds memories. my first gigs, band, ect ect. now realize that after 5 years anything is going to wear down a little. so straight out of the package into a laney 100 watt. perfect bliss, i insantly fell in love with it. the guitar can give you a wide variety of tones if you know how to rig it and your amp the right way. quality built, after 5 years the only damage done is i had to replace the pickguard and the neck binding is slightly loose. i compared it to a gibson sg standard. the sounding is very alike but the epiphone had a more treble tone to it. its a sweet looking guitar for beginners and experienced alike. it wont dissapoint.

Mine is a 2005 Vintage White, but somehow it isn't like any other Vintage White Epiphone SG310. Mine is more cream, and turned a darker cream in spots. It is fading really quick, witch is strange. I took off the Made in China sticker now, and its a white under neath, not a cream and also there was a sticker on back of the body and that was taken off and same, so they messed up with the paint and clear on this one! On the neck they messed up painting, a section about 4 inches long, is a different regular white and like drippy look, like spray paint. I am suprised it passed the inspection! It is a comfortable guitar, but the worse sounding humbuckers ever made. I have played a few, and they all sound horrible. If you switch the humbuckers and maybe throw on Grovers, it would be perfect.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This is my first Epi, first SG, and I am impressed. Bought it sight unseen off eBay. It arrived in good shape, almost set-up. The "white" is more cream, like everyone says, I think it looks good. This guitar was put together well, no sharp edges, nice strings, even finish-all same shade of cream. It is comfortable to hold sitting down. The tuners are fine-Grovers. No upgrade needed there. I don'e think the set neck vs the bolt on would be a problem for most folks. Get one!

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

The Epiphone 310 was my first guitar and served the purpose well. With it I encountered electronic and pick-up problems occasionally that were simple fixes like loose screws or wires. Mine was strange in that some days the tone was easier to adjust or it was easier to tune. The tone is very dark and round through tube and solid state amps but can have nice twang for bluesy rock tones. Warmth is hard to find, but the sound is very clean with little buzz. Standard hit or miss by Epiphone.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar to use for my new metalcore band I was joining. But, when I got it the bridge pickup just would not put out the sounds and volume I needed it too. So I changed the bridge pickup to an emg 81. This now sounds fantastic. But the only problem I have is that the nut broke when I changed the strings. Also, that the bolt on neck is a pain. When moving around on stage I noticed that the pitches I played would bend and stretch due to the bolt on neck. I really like this guitar, but I suggest you get the g400. Much better guitar and much more worth the price.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

The G-310 is a good guitar, especially for the money you pay for it. The way to get the best sound out of it is to change the machine heads and maybe the pickups, but it's honestly a very good guitar. The ONLY complaint I have is that it goes out of tune faster then other guitars usually do.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar. When I bought it from my local music shop, I was looking for the g400. But listen, this guitar does the job. I'm a metal player and play many genres but metal is what I spend the majority of my time on. And I have to tell you this guitar holds it together. Shocking really. Only complaint is that the stock bridge pickup is awful for taking gain. It gave under the pressure of my line 6 amp. Overall, if you put an EMG 81 in the bridge, you are looking at a potent metal machine.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I bought a red Epiphone SG-310 in a shop two years ago, and I can honestly say it is the best guitar I have ever owned. The action is perfect, the pickups have just the right setup, and the neck, despite being bolt-on, helps give it incredible sustain. I had a 62' G-400, and the set-in neck broke off, even though it was set in... this is the best looking and sounding guitar I have ever played, and it it is so much more that just a starter instrument.

Comments about Epiphone G-310 SG Electric Guitar:

I have several Gibson versions of this guitar and although it has a screw in neck vs a set neck the guitar plays and sounds very close to the much more expensive Gibson version. If you want an SG that will do a lot without spending a fortune, I would say this is a great way to go.
