OVERVIEW

Modeled after the famous SG, but with a new dark look.

This back in black menace definitely sends a message even before you start playing it. The Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar is a twisted version of the Gibson '62 SG with solid mahogany body and slim-tapered set mahogany neck. The rosewood fingerboard has a VII inlay at the 12th fret and the headstock is highlighted with a Celtic cross. The deep SG styled double-cutaways let you reach all 22 frets with ease. Separate volume and tone controls for each of the open-coil high-output Alnico V humbuckers give you complete control of your sound. An innovative integrated killswitch/tone pot lets you create a sonic strobe effect. The Goth G-400 is bathed in a satin black finish and sports black-chrome hardware. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

I have a G-400, and I've liked every G-400 that I've picked up. So I'm sure this one is the same as the rest, only with a few different cosmetics. I just wanted to comment on the ad for the guitar. You say there's a VII (7) at the 12th fret. Then you say that it has pearloid trapezoid inlays. This makes me wonder if you have any clue about what you're selling. Are these really Alnico V pickups? If you can't tell pearloid trapezoid inlays from no inlays at all, and you can't tell 12 from 7, then I begin to doubt if you know the rest of the specs.

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar. It has an excellent sound, a great amount of sustain, plays very well, which is unusual for a guitar with a painted neck. This is the guitar I'll be playing for a very long time, I suspect. And, it's extremely lightweight, even for an SG. If you like a guitar that's nice and light, sounds good, and plays well, for a low price, snag yourself this guitar!

Can't get any better than this

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar at a local guitar shop in town today. I plugged it into a Line 6 Spider IV and shredded away. It was perfect. It sounds great in Drop D and Standard. I'm used to playing my Japanese Strat, and this guitar blew it out of the water. For the price it doesn't get any better than this.

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

I have had my SG for about three and 1/2 years its been all over the US, Korea, Japan, even in the Philippines! This guitar is by far one of the most durable guitars I have had and it still sounds and plays great! The inlay-less fret board is great if you are playing your own music cuz it makes it harder to see what your doin! I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!!

great buy but hard to find in stock

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for a couple months and find it to not only be a kicka** value but the envy of the rest of the band. Every time i play this guitar, everyone in the club melts. I thought the stock pickups were fine for the price but i bought this instead of a gibson so i can spend the extra money on pickups. My new pickups are Duncan invader in the neck and Dimebucker in the bridge. The harmonics on the guitar are amazing. The only problem I had that I didn't like the stock volume/tone knobs. I thought they brought the guitar down by making it look cheap so some Gibson speedknobs remedied that. My only regret is not buying one of the Epi Goths that come with the Floyd Rose Tremolo. Seriously consider this line of guitars even if your not into the whole Goth style the cost to value ratio is just too impressive to pass up..

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

I purchased this as a birthday present to myself, and boy, this is one fine quality guitar. The tonal quality is just amazing. The freatboard is so slick, and easy to get around on. This is by far my favorite guitar to date.

insane guitar!

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about 2 months ago, and i have to say is wow. This guitar has sick tone while clean, and handles distortion better than any BC Rich guitar I've played. This guitar is great for any style of music because it sounds like a real gibson sg clean, just a little smoother, and with distortion, sounds just sick. The SG design is great for fast palm muting such as in death metal style, as i play. It seems as if the guitar knows when to feed back. With the great flexibility with tone and volume controls, you can get sounds out of it that even my strat can't. And the guitar is so light that it amazed all my musician friends. The top heavy thing really isnt that bad either. I would most definitely recommend this guitar for punk, metal, hardcore, or rock and roll bands that want that goth look.

Comments about Epiphone Goth G-400 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is soooooo great. It is loud, with an awesome design. I love the satin black finish with the "XII" inlayed in the 12th fret. You can tune it to heavy metal, even to a funky 70's sound. The screaming humbuckers have an awesome sound to them!
