This is fine instrement.I have looked all over for this gutiar and have found and im glad.
I have just acquired a joe pass emperor in cherry sunburst and it is one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever had. It plays beautifully and it makes me want to be a jazz player, which i'm not (maybe some day).
Bought this one 3 yrs ago and haven't had a problem with it. It plays, and sounds like the day I bought it. The first time I saw this guitar, I was tuning it up and was amazed how smooth the machine heads were and the neck had a great feel to it. I knew I had a quality instrument in my hands and bought it without even plugging it into an amp. This is my fav electric guitar. Love the old 50's sound I can get out of it, and it has a great jazz sound. I've used it in a few hard rock and metal songs too with great results. I own a Les Paul and an American Strat too, but I like the Emperor II more.
I purchased mine in '97 or '98. (It's been a while). Lovely instrument and easy to set up for low string height and fast action. Better action than my American made lefty Strat. I recommend heavier flat wound strings, but a low E larger than .052 won't fit into the tailpiece properly. I'm delighted with this instrument. Tuners hold the strings in tune very well. The wood bridge makes this a versatile guitar for jazz and blues. The only minor complaint I have is that the gold plated pieces (tailpiece, pickups and pickgaurd brace) have developed minor pock marks over time). But the sound just gets better every year.
I got this guitar for a bargin two years ago now and it is honesly one of my favourite guitars in the world! I have got a few nice electricks now but this is by far the best and my favourite!
I bought this guitar from MF in '95. Has great sound, but months after receiving it, the bridge pickup came unhooked. Has a great warranty but I lost the paperwork. It's been beat around, but it still sounds good, with just one working p/up.
Lefty's typically have slim pickin's... This is a great guitar for your "Keeper Collection". Very good action and adjustability of neck. Infinite variation on tone. BEAUTIFUL finish. Commands recognition & appreciation with a timeless look. The balance in your lap or on a strap could not be better. BUY ONE - You'll Love it.
