    Epiphone

Epiphone supports your right to rock on a Paul even if your handedness is left.

While all Les Pauls share common design features, the Les Paul Custom differed from the Les Paul Standard in that it's body was solid Mahogany without a Maple cap. Epiphone's LP Custom follows that tradition by using a solid, carved Mahogany body giving it a slightly mellower tone. Like the originals, attached to the body is a solid mahogany neck with a hand-fitted, glued-in joint for optimum neck-to-body contact and acting almost like one continuous piece of wood. The neck features a very comfortable and fast "SlimTaper" neck profile that has become the most popular profile found on Les Pauls today. The result is a tribute to Les' timeless guitar design with the sound and feel that you can only get from a real Les Paul. The Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar has all the right stuff in a southpaw configuration. Based on the original Les Paul design that, since 1954, has been shaping rock history with its powerful tone and prolonged sustain, the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Left-Handed Electric Guitar has 2 Alnico Classic humbuckers, set mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with block inlays.
At the heart of the Les Paul Custom is a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucking pickups. Patterned after the original Gibson '57 Classics, these pickups combine Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire to give you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response that doesn't hold back when you need that classic humbucker crunch! The neck pickup is an Alnico Classic while the bridge pickup is an Alnico Classic Plus. The "Plus" is slightly over wound to give it a little bit higher output without sacrificing its rich, vintage tone. Other time-honored Custom features include gold hardware and body, neck, and headstock binding. A classic solidbody at a working guitarist's price. Get an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar and add your own chapter to the story of rock guitar. Includes Epiphone hardshell case.

I have had this guitar for 2+ years and in that time have played many live shows and countless hours of studio work. The pickups are ok out of the box, but a pair of Burstbuckers and new pots make the guitar really sing. It required a full setup at delivery, but once done, I would put it close to my 73 Gibson LP Custom (minus a few thousand dollars). This is a great guitar for the money, highly rated for a lefty. I have been playing for 40 years so this isn't a teenager's review, it's well worth the money.

I purchased this guitar with the intention of keeping my Les Paul at home. Although the black finish with the gold hardware is beautiful, the quality of that hardware leaves a lot to be desired. Despite setting up the action to Epiphone specs (and verifying intonation), I still have fret buzz at the 2nd and 3rd frets on the A string whenever I bend a note. The saddle screws also rattled, and the only fix for that was to shove debris into the briddge to make it stop. Also, the bridge pickup cover rattles if you play it for long periods of time. I would expect issues like this with a lower end guitar, but not one in this price range. I know lefties can't get too picky, but IMHO if you're going to buy Epiphone, I wouldn't recommend this specific guitar.

    singing as a guitar palyer

Comments about Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar:

I own this awesome master piece for more than 5 years and it keeps getting better and better every day. I personally recommend any left handed guitarist to own this guitar as one of his/her essential instruments. This guitar is very well crafted to accommodate the need to shred easily or even for any chords. I am not surprised to see the price went up since I bought it 5 years ago. It does deserve every penny paid for it.

    Monster Energy

Comments about Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar:

I got this Epiphone Les Paul Custom with a black finish back about two years ago, and this beast still feels great in my hands. I threw an EMG 81 in the neck and an EMG 85 in the bridge and this thing sounds like a MONSTER. I would definately recommend picking this guitar up to any southpaw, definitely worth the price.

    Decent Studio Guitar

    By TTCS2008

Comments about Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a year and a half ago now and it's held up nicely. The gold finish on the pickups and hardware starts to fade after about 6 months, and the frets start to show wear. As far as tone, it's decent, but nothing close to a Gibson. The price is too much for this thing, it's much to heavy to have great stage presence live, and it's just plain old average.

This guitar rocks. I picked one up in March of 2007 and it rocks my world. I do see some imperfecitons in the quaility of the guitar itself, but the sound is what is important, and when it comes to sound you can't beat this guitar.

    Pretty dang cool

Comments about Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar:

Since I can't afford a Gibson Les Paul, I figured I'd get the next best thing, and I wasn't disappointed. My only complaint is that the neck binding is a little rough in a couple places, but other than that it's a great looking guitar. I might replace the pickups some day, but then again, maybe not. The stock ones sound pretty good, although they lack the high mid-rangey Gibson Les Paul tone. A fine guitar for the money.

    Excellent buy

    By Nick-GXz7u

Comments about Epiphone Left-Handed Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for over a year, now, and I play with it on stage every week, and nearly every day in the studio. It's got a great, warm tone for the clean stuff, and sound pretty mean through my POD Pro. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who love the look and feel of a Les Paul, but can't afford the much more expensive Gibson Les Paul Custom. PS - One of the pegs for my guitar strap came out last week, and the wood threads are stripped now. Beware.
