Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

Bought this for my son, who plays classical guitar, as his first electric.

Guitar is great and package price was very low, especially after additional rebate.

The amp is, definitely, the weak link.

For the price I paid, the package makes sense, even if we get a new amp soon.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

4/5 stars. For a starter guitar, this package deal is excellent! Everything arrived as described and WORKED.

The Guitar: 22 frets. There was no noticeable warping and the body had no noticeable scratches. Set up is passable. I will still probably take it in for a professional set up as the action is slightly high above fret 12 and I feel it would play better if adjusted. It holds its tuning decently for a newbie guitar. Pick up quality is surprisingly decent considering the price. I have heard much worse in this price range.

The Amp: The amp has gain and clean with adjustable treble and bass. It also has a headphone jack and audio device jack, which I have not tried but am happy that are there. The standard VOX headphone amp is an extra cost, so it's nice to have the headphone feature.

I was able to tune in a nice clean sound on this little 10 watter. The gain channel was another story. If you need something to sound really saturated and muddy, then this gain is for you. It has one tone. It can pass for garage rock such as White Stripes or classic rock such as Black Sabbath. It won't really work for modern metal, punk, rock or anything needs control.

The Cable: It's your standard instrument cable that works and probably will go bad in 3 to 6 months...no issues upon arrival though. I wish they'd include a 20 foot cable, but beggars can't be choosers.

The Tuner: The tuner comes with a battery and does the job effectively. 10 points to Epiphone as this saved me additional expense.

The Strap: For a starter strap, I was impressed. You can't really find cheapo straps in guitar stores, so this is a great inclusion. More saved.

The bottom line is that you can't get much else like this for the money and it really is a great deal. The guitar holds up against most 30% higher priced instruments and comes with a great amount of free stuff. It is definitely worth it for any newbie or for a bang around at home guitar that you don't have to worry about. Plus, it came playable and scratch free.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

The guitar plays like one in a much higher price bracket. I love this guitar its making learning easy, it stays in tune has great tone and the humbuckers sound awesome for a guitar in this price bracket. The amp though is aweful buzzes lots of feed back and no durability its already fried. I would highly recommend the guitar but that's iT for the extra money go pick up a line 6 practice amp.

Beautiful guitar. Feels great. Do not yet play but learning has been a lifelong dream. Lessons are next on my agenda. This appears to be a great guitar to learn on. Price was right and the craftsmanship appears spot on. Fast shipping, received it in only a couple of days. I will be doing more business with Musician's Friend in the future.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

This is a great electric guitar if you already picked up an acoustic guitar and want to try out an electric. You also get an amp with it. It's a great bundle. It came in good shape and looked awesome. I've had it for two months now. I've been playing for 3 years, but this is my first electric.

Although I had one problem with it. The lower frets seemed to be out of tune, even if the string was in tune (open fret). I guessed that the nut was too high, so now I'm looking to lower the nut by sanding it down or even replacing it. I'm not sure if it's the nut or the fret placement.

Overall, this is a great bundle. It's worth it.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Electric Guitar Player Pack:

I'm just learning and it does great. Yes the strings hurt and get out of tune but what new thing doesn't get out of tune? Great craftsmanship and sound. My experienced friends say it's a good not great guitar. Can't go wrong with this set up. New strings would help but you can't buy a drum set and expect the factory heads play great either.
