This is my first online ordering experience with a guitar but I am so happy with it. I opened the box and was blown away with the beauty and craftsmanship of this guitar. Online pictures do not do it justice.
I picked the guitar up, tuned it, plugged it into a small peavey practice amp and started playing. The sounds were awesome and the guitar felt amazing and there was no fret buzz. The Humbucker/Single Coil pickup controls are great for a variety of sounds.
I am extremely happy with this purchase. I just don't want to set this thing down. It is amazing. I used to have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and this guitar is just as good or better. I will be playing guitar a lot more now.
The only problem with the online ordering is the 3 or 4 days I had to wait. It was killing me. I was like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.
I got it and now I am a Very Happy Customer...and it was worth the wait.

This is a beautiful looking guitar with a 60s profile D shape neck. The pickups are hot and super bright. The neck is about the same as a bridge pickup in a lot of Gibsons. But they sound great, especially if you roll the tone off a bit. The guitar was in poor shape as far as setup when I received it. The frets were atrocious, the literally felt like there was sand glued to them, they also needed to levelled. Intonation was out on a few strings and out so far on the G string that I have wound it back as far as it will go and it's still out. Also the nut was high, I ended up replacing it with a tusq. The action was fairly high when the guitar arrived and not able to be lowered as it buzzed out pretty bad when I did so, so obviously they'd noticed this and just wound it up until it stopped buzzing, not good.
All in all, a good guitar, I do love to play it, but expect to encounter some setup issues.

I bought the Heritage cherry burst one this time. The set up was perfect right out the box. Bought this to keep the fret wear down on my Gibson Les Paul. This is my second Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top that I owned. Great Guitars for the price.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop Pro Electric Guitar:

I ordered a Vintage Sunburst, and it's really a beautiful guitar. The finish was gorgeous. For a mid-priced guitar, I was impressed. Obviously, if you hold it up next to a Gibson, you can tell the difference, but it's beautiful enough for me. I swapped out the pickups with a Seymour Duncan Alnico II in the neck and a Seymour Duncan Custom SH-5 in the bridge, in addition to swapping the pots with Gibson pots. However, I did play it a good bit before I modified the electronics. Obviously, the guitar needed a bit of work out of the box. The strings were a bit high, the truss rod and nut both needed adjusting, and the pickups were set low. It still played fine in this condition. I wasn't the biggest fan of the push/pull coil splitting, although they were fully functional, but that's just personal preference. It's mostly the reason I swapped the pots. I wanted higher quality electronics and didn't mind sacrificing the coil splitting. I was pretty impressed with the stock Burstbucker pickups. They really do give that advertised Les Paul sound. Nice and fat, with a good classic punch. I took the guitar to a shop to get set up when I had it modified, and once this was done, I was in heaven. The guitar plays like a dream. Smooth, fast fretboard. Great rollback on the volume and tone knobs. Honestly, I can get just about the same tones that I could with the coil splitting just by rolling back the knobs. It's been a struggle to put this guitar down since I had it finished. By sticking a few hundred extra into it, I now have a guitar that sounds and plays like a much higher end guitar. Well worth the investment. One thing I do have to say is please, please, go get your guitar set up or do it yourself if you know how. It will make all the difference in the world. If you're looking for a high quality guitar at a reasonable price, this is a tough option to beat.

I've owned many different guitars, all Fender, Gibson or Epiphone. This has to be one of the best instruments I've ever owned or played. Outstanding tone, feel, action, etc. These are no joke.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop Pro Electric Guitar:

My wife really wanted this guitar mainly because, like me, she loves LP's plus being a professional decorator she wanted to use it secondary as a wall hanger. The finish on her's is more of a "Blue Burst" than "Trans Blue" but close enough. I told her I should play it through an amp before she paid for it and when I did I was surprised at how well this Epiphone played and the pickups sound pretty good. Although the body and neck are made from India mahogany known as "Nato" and the top has a maple veneer, it still sounds pretty good. I have been playing guitar since 1979 and I must say that guitar pickups , to me, are a big percentage of a guitars sound. Put cheap humbuckers in a Gibson Les Paul and you'll see what I mean. How many times have you heard someone say that their guitar was okay but then they changed the pickup's an now their guitar sounds great? That's my point. The fit and finish are spot on. The Epiphone (Kluson copies) tuning machines work really well. This Epiphone Les Paul stays in tune very well. The neck shape is very comfortable too. Should you choose to purchase one of these Epiphone Les Paul Standards, please do yourself a favor and purchase the matching Epiphone hard shell case. Given the restraints Gibson puts on Epiphone, Epiphone really goes the extra mile to be innovative wherever they can.

Wow is all I can say. I;ve played$ 3500 Gibsons and they left me flat. This Epi is awesome. I love the vintage sunburst. It is even better that expected. The Pro bucker pickups are simply wonderful. Coil splitting that actually works great. I cant find a bad setting anywhere. I've always bought Fender because of the neck profile. This slim taper neck is great. Epi has made me a believer. I bought a blem and I can barely find the blem. Thanks Musicians Friend. You have stepped up in delivery, quality, and price.

I guess I'm just unlucky. This guitar was sent to me with a broken selector switch. That was a real let down because the guitar was beautiful. It felt relatively good in my hands and sounded good. I would have exchanged it but this is the second Epi Les Paul that was shipped to me with fatal issues. Gonna save up some more and go with a Gibson and hope for better results.
