I got this a few days ago and was so pleasantly surprised by it's quality. I thought I would be getting a few notches down from my beloved LP Standard, but no... this thing looks, plays, and feels just as nice and comfortable as that and sounds even better to me. The stock pickups are amazing and it really feels like you are playing a high end Gibson. Do yourself a favor if you are browsing around for an Epiphone Les Paul... BUY THIS ONE. Doesn't matter what color you get, but definitely give this one a chance. You will be very pleased!

This is a great guitar, perfect for those who are serious about getting into guitar. It was my first guitar, and I have been playing obsessively for five years now. I still use it as my main guitar, even though I have five other guitars now. I play through a Blackstar HT5 into a Ampeg 412 with Vintage 30s, and the tones I can achieve with just my guitar, amp, cab, and a reverb pedal can suit just about any style of music perfectly. It is truly wonderful.
For such a low price, this guitar has many features unseen by others in this price range. The set neck, solid mahogany, carved top, and adequate hardwear really make this guitar a bargain. Asthetically, I find the brown of the rosewood fretboard to clash with the black, white, and chrome color scheme of the guitar, but dying the fretboard black has made my guitar look incredibly sharp. As for the electronics, the switch, pots, and capacitors are adequate, and the neck pickup is great. However, I found the bridge pickup to lack depth or precision, so I replaced it with a pickup for GFS, and I couldn't be happier. The hardwear is all adequate. Most of the components on this guitar are perfectly fine and may never need to be replaced, unless you are as OCD about this stuff as I am.
Aside from the quality of components previously mentioned in the last section, the construction of these guitars is rather hit or miss. My own guitar has a neck that isn't set flush with the body and cracks developing in the finish as a result of this innacurate setting. But then again, I paid $100 less than sticker price as a result. Nearly every other guitar of this model that I have played has been flawless, however. So just hope that you're lucky, haha.
I have had this guitar for five years, and I am still happy with the purchase. If you want a Les Paul, this is a really good choice. The only guitars in this price range that can produce classic Les Paul tones orther than this guitar are at Rondo Music.

Got this a few days ago, to my surprise. Gotta give props to Musician's Friend for great service!
The guitar is gorgeous, the pickups are high quality and the overall craftsmanship is great. This is second Epiphone I buy and I am more than pleased.
This is the third time I buy an item from MF. And if you're new, I would totally recommend. The service is outstanding.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I'm an intermediate guitarist, and while I may not be the best, I have played lots of guitars. This one feels very natural, and fun to play.
I listed a slight fret buzz as one of the cons, and while this may turn some off, the fret buzz is only around the first frets on the low strings.
Apart from that, it's a beautiful guitar that is fun to play, keeps the Les Paul sound I fell in love with while playing my buddies for the first time, and is definitely a crowd pleaser for sound and looks.
A must have for anyone who loves guitars, but can't shell out thousands for a Gibson.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I have had this guitar for a few years now, and it has held up pretty well for all the strife I put it through. It has a good feeling neck profile, not unlike that of a Gibson LP. I typically don't like this chunkier, rounded neck shape, but on this guitar it just works for me.
The guitar is tonally versatile just with its stock pickups. You can obtain any type of tone you want with a decent amp and some tweaking. I have achieved heavily distorted electrifying metal tones and sweet shimmering cleans with no problem whatsoever. The dense mahogany really does give the guitar a nice, full-bodied tone.
The only issues I have had with it are the switch and the nut. The switch stopped working correctly after a year or so of use, but it was easily replaced and hasn't given me problems since. The nut had a chunk break off on the low E string side, but I simply glued it back together and it has held up pretty good since.
Overall, I would suggest this guitar as an affordable, worthy alternative to a Gibson LP. With a few modifications one could make it a better instrument, but it is pretty solid and sounds good fresh out of the box.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
This is a great guitar for someone who is on a budget or is playing at an intermediate skill level. it feels great, sounds great, and looks great. Because it is a Les Paul you will not have access to the higher frets, but that will be the case with any Les Paul. It's heavier than a Strat, but lighter than some other Les Pauls so its more bearable in longer gigs. Get a case for this guitar because it is one that you will want to keep safe.
The neck on this guitar is AMAZING. It feels great and only gets better with age. The pickups have a good top end but can still hit those beefy bottom end sounds. The rythm pickup is smooth while the treble pickup is brighter and sharper. To get the best sound, don't have the pickup selector in the middle, or else it sounds a llittle muddy.
Still in great shape after a year. Stays in tune, good sustain. The alpine white finish is gorgeous. This was a guitar that was ready to go right after I took it out of the box; I just had to adjust the intonation, thich is a pretty easy job.
Amazing price. The Gibson Les Pauls are great, but for someone on a budget it can be dificult to come up with the 2 grand for one. This is a steal for what you get.

What a work of art. The white is just dazzling to look at. I paired this up with a Line 6 spider 4-15 amp and it is sweet and smooth, or harsh and biting, whichever you prefer. I love it.
Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
This is a reall, really great guitar, it was my first electric and it has served me well since I bought it, never had any problems, it hold it's tune very well, the pickups in it sound fantastic. It suits just about every musical style in my opinion. It is an all around good buy if you're looking for a good electric guitar on a budget.
Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I got this 2 months ago, and it is just amazing. Iv'e played the ESP mirage deluxe and Ibanez RX170 but this axe is way better(my opinion). Don't get me wrong, those other guitars are great and well for some different styles of music but i use this for everything...and i mean EVERYTHING! The only problem i have for it is the the nut is a bit loose but you can fix it. The pickups are great sounding, and i haven't heard fret buzz at all. I suggest guitarist at any skill level buy or at least try out this guitar in you local music shop. You wont regret it!
Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar:
I got my Les Paul when I was about 10. It was a great guitar to start out with, well at least as soon as my hands got big enough to fit around the signature fat necks that these guitars have. I love the bright tone in puts out and with some light gauge strings, this guitar makes for a great blues guitar. Note though, going back and forth between this guitar and my Telecaster isn't easy due to Fender's slim necks, but the difference isn't a deal breaker. I love this guitar.
