OVERVIEW

A professionally appointed Les Paul Ultra with a quilted top from Epiphone.

Epiphone's history and association with Les Paul dates way back to the days when Les, working at the Epiphone factory on 14th St. in New York, created the world's first electric guitar. Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone by reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra PRO electric guitar combines the best of Les Paul's original design with new features that set this Epiphone guitar apart.

Professional Electronics
The Les Paul Ultra PRO uses Epiphone's 4-wire, nickel/silver base humbuckers with newly tooled, USA-style bobbins. In the neck position is Epiphone’s chrome-covered ProBucker-2 with warm, thick vintage tone. It's uniquely paired with a chrome-covered ProBucker-3 humbucker, an inspired by version of Gibson's BurstBucker-3, that features unevenly wound coils and Alnico-II magnets that replicate that "Patent Applied for" airy tone. To top it all off, both volume controls feature push/pull potentiometers allowing you to coil-split each pickup for single-coil sounds. Combined with the 3-way toggle, you get 6 unique sounds from one great Les Paul guitar.

Premium tone woods
The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra PRO guitar has a solid mahogany back with a stunning, carved quilted top. Its solid mahogany neck is hand-fitted and glued into the body for excellent neck-to-body contact and resonates almost like one continuous piece of wood.

Loaded with add-ons
Other features on the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra PRO included quality Grover tuners, a traditional cream-colored pickguard, and LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Ultra PRO Electric Guitar:

This is a beautiful guitar and sounds great with the Fender 40 amp I purchased along with it. The problem I have had is the 3rd G string will not stay in tune. I talked to a service rep and he suggested having in setup so I did which was an expense I wasn't expecting and the action is better but the 3rd string still is giving me problems. I am giving it another week then may have to try something else.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Ultra PRO Electric Guitar:

This Epiphone Les Paul Ultra Pro is replacing an old Gibson SG. The LP Ultra Pro has superior tone for both lead and rythm playing. The chambered body sounds great. This guitar has outstanding sustain, much better than the SG. The neck is fast and comfortable. This instument has great tone for playing gospel and spiritual music. I am very pleased with this guitar.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Ultra PRO Electric Guitar:

One of the rare few guitars that drew my attention from the dozens hanging alongside it. It did not disappoint once plugged in either. The action was flawless and played as if it was built and set up just for me. I didn't need another guitar, (so said the Mrs), but everything about it felt so right that I had to have it. The tone is warm, bright, and punchy and the pickups respond well to the dynamics of my playing. Notes sustain as they should well into the upper frets. It's surprisingly light for a Les Paul. Weighs less than both my Strat and my Dot Studio!
The one complaint I have is the satin finish on the back of the neck, but, with as much playing time as she's sure to get, I expect it will polish up very soon. Cheers and well done Epiphone!
