This guitar is an excellent guitar for starters or even for the more experienced players. The stock pickups and tuning machines are something that should definitely be taken into consideration. I replaced all the electronics with EMG Selects and I've got straplocks, new knobs, and I've customized a standard Les Paul pick guard to fit around the knobs. It really is a great guitar.
This guitar is incredibly inexpensive, so i will not try to compare to my epi les paul standard or ibanez arx320. My friend has this guitar, and i have played it several times It is a good gift for beginners
I got this guitar 2 years ago for my birthday, and never really liked it. Sure it looks cool, and the sound is okay, but the fingerboard and the tuning knobs stink. I say, save your money to buy a real Gibson Les Paul.
i'd say that for the price you are getting alot of bang for your buck. i've had this guitar for 2 years and it still plays well. the intonation is a little off, but that can be fixed. i've lugged it to out of town shows, and on a couple short tours and it's been fine. like i said, great deal for what you pay. the tone and volume knobs control both pickups, but that's not a big deal to me. everybody i know that plays a les paul leaves it on the rythm switch anyways. great deep tone, though. i love it. good guitar at a great price.
This guitar is soooo sweet i have owned it for like three years and it still hasnt let me down. the humbuckers guve it the les paul sound and the price is incredible. i suggest that if you just have started playing guitar that you should get this guitar cause its definately affordable.
