A gift from someone who knows what a huge Joe B fan I am. Epiphone delivers in a big way, finally making a guitar that lives up to the hype of advertising. The weight is very well balanced for a guitar that weighs in close to 10 lbs. The "D" shaped neck feels amazing and you can get some amazing sustain both from chording, and single notes. Even without effects, the guitar sounds great plugged in. You can use this guitar for many styles due to the wide tonal range the pickups can provide.

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Joe Bonamassa fan. I thought I would pay homage to Joe by picking up one of his signature guitars, one I could afford at least. I have had a Gibson Studio Les Paul before and it had amazing tone and feel. This Epiphone had the cheapest feel of any guitar that I have purchased in my life. The paint job and woodwork seemed almost plastic-like. The pickups sounded horrid. The knobs did not spin level at all. The case was falling apart right out of the box. I was instantly dissatisfied with this guitar and boxed it back up after 10 minutes and shipped it back to MF the next day. MF was good in exchanging this guitar for an actual Gibson 50's Tribute Les Paul even though it took two weeks to get the transaction completed. The Gibson was a little more money but it was worth it. The Gibson is a far better guitar all the way around. Sorry Joe...maybe someday I will try your Gibson model.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition 2014 Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar:

So having the Gibson Joe Bonamassa I wasn't expecting to much from this Epiphone. However, I will say this, the quality and set up right out of the box was almost shocking. It has that same chunky neck, singing sustain and heavy body as the Gibson, but the feel, and build quality may surprise you. In some weird way it doesn't seem so USA handmade, but it's fit and finish are perfect and doesn't feel like and "Asian" instrument. So it doesn't reek that personal "made for me" thing when you open the box with all of the white wrapping, printed endorsement certificate, and cheesy case. But if you take it out, sit it in a room for a while, play it and set it up in a few days, you may have a piece that your can call Honey.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition 2014 Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar:

I've always liked the value of Epiphone guitars but I don't like the thin necks on most of them. This guitar has a very nice fat neck that is very comfortable.

The pickups are also a nice bonus. I bought this guitar expecting to change them out the pickups like I have in other Epiphones. However, the Burstbuckers sounded too nice so I had to leave them in!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition 2014 Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar:

For the second time in my life I own a masterpiece of a guitar. I own both Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Custom Shop Signature Les Pauls, and they are the real deal. Very high quality and craftsmanship, just as nice as a lot of Gibsons out there. Killer feel, and unreal tone, clean or dirty. Long live Joe Bonamassa, and keep up the great work Epiphone!!!

First ... I'm an Epiphone fan and this is my 4th and still very much please with the quality you get for the price. This model is by far my favorite and I believe the best built. I purchased this for 580 from MF over the holidays which I think is a steal for this model. I compare this directly to my 2014 Gibson SG also purchase from MF at an amazing price an their on par with each other! These are not readily availabe so if you get the chance, pick one up as you will be very happy you did!

This guitar has good basic construction and good pickups. The only issue is very poor wiring job and poor quality volume and tone pots with poor taper. No problem just replace the wiring, switch, jack, and pots and you have a great guitar. Especially if you can purchase it at a reduced price on sale or used.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition 2014 Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar:

This is the guitar I've been waiting for. It has everything I wanted in a Les Paul - solid carved maple top, mahogany body & beefy neck, rosewood fingerboard, Gibson pickups, and decent hardware at a price that's unbelievably cheap compared to Gibson offerings with the same features. The guitar is very resonant and has lots of sustain when played unplugged. Once you plug it in, that resonance and sustain drives the Gibson pickups which are surprisingly hot and have an upper midrange bump that sounds great with distortion. I dinged the rating 1 star because the guitar did not arrive setup properly. There is some fret buzz on the lower strings and the pickup height is not adjusted for balanced output between the bridge and neck pickups. Once these issues have been corrected, I have no doubt this will be a 5 star guitar.
