I love this guitar! My new wife gave it to me as a wedding present (of course I suggested it), so maybe I'm biased! It's the first Epi I've ever owned, and I was stunned at how much I enjoyed the tone and the feel of the neck right away. It's a VERY comfortable guitar to play: well balanced with a nice neck and nice contour to the body. The tone and volume knobs don't ever seem to be centered on any Epiphone, which is a cosmetic bummer, but the guitar has a nice deep, pearl finish to it, like a great custom paint job on an old car a friend used to own (it catches a few colors in the right light). The guitar sounds great unamplified, and plugged into a Fender Deluxe or Epi Blues Custom it has rich warm tones (haven't really cranked it up yet in my condo). This is a great choice! If I ever find a classic Gibson 335, I'll snag it, but I don't have a great draw to do so now as I enjoy playing this so much!
Terriffic! Unless I'm missing something, it's configured the same as a Gibson 335 (essentially).
All in all, it played great right out of the box. I was surprised at how good the action was from the factory. HOWEVER...
Epiphone can't seem to get their volume and tone knobs on the pots correctly. I have NEVER seen a foreign-made Epiphone where the volume and tone knobs were actually centered on the pots: they all turn "off-center" in a lopsided way. You've gotta be kidding...
Great value, and a lot of fun to have and play!

It's a great guitar, but it's same thing as a regular Epiphone dot. The only difference between this and a regular dot is the finish. not a bad finish for an extra money though. when I get the cash I'm going to buy one. Plays great, and it may be about the same as a normal dot, but the finish is worth the extra money. if you even just the look of it, go for it.
