Laminated spruce top, nato body, and full dreadnought size at a great price.

The Epiphone Limited Edition DR 90 Acoustic Guitar is an excellent choice for a first steel string acoustic guitar. It has features that will continue to satisfy the student as he or she progresses and that are normally associated with more expensive instruments.

This Limited Edition uses different woods than the standard DR 90. It has a laminated spruce top and a special nato body that produce a warm, expansive tone, amplified by the guitar's dreadnought size — a body style that has become the standard for folk and bluegrass musicians.

The Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard has a truss rod for added strength and adjustment. Sealed tuners and a rosewood bridge complete the list of value-packed refinements for this Limited Edition DR-90.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition DR-90 Acoustic Guitar:

I only had a little flash to pick up a beater, and played a bunch of low end acoustic guitars. I found one of these and it sounded great, but the face was peeling off! I'm not scared to do some repairs, so after finagling a bit, I got one of these for a great price. The sound, fretting, and action from this little doggy are all superb for the cash, and if you don't mind doing little repairs here and there, a great buy. The tuners are absolutely horrendous though. Mine actually stripped the first time I changed strings, but that's an easy fix. Consider this the volkswagon beetle of low-enders...great buy but requires TLC.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition DR-90 Acoustic Guitar:

I received this guitar as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. At that time, I didn't know too much about guitars. Now, I do. So, with all my knowledge I have now, I will say that Epiphone guitars, as far as I'm concerned, may be considered low-brand Gibson. I would call it that, because of the history of Gibson and Epiphone having merged at one time. I only had this guitar as just an acoustic, so acoustically, I don't care for it, because the action is really low for me, which leads to so much buzzing. I really don't like the sound of it either. Different companies use different woods so this guitar, I wouldn't recommend. Anyway, that's my opinion. Hope it helped.

Not an expert, but it seems like a good guitar

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition DR-90 Acoustic Guitar:

This is my sons first guitar, he is 18, so I wanted something good quality that would last but also something that wouldn't cost a fortune just in case he decided he wasn't that interested. I checked the reviews and and saw many people who had played a long time were impressed by this guitar. I had a cheap guitar as a teenager and this is many times the quality than that one was. My son loves playing it and he likes the look of it. It is a good size for him to play on. The website in my opinion needs more detail on this product, it took me a while to figure out I would be paying for a guitar only and not any extra's. I will say however that the shipping was supurb. I ordered it late (about midnight) on a thursday and I received it on Monday the next week, this being the first week of December. It was securely packed and in wonderful condition.
This guitar comes with only the guitar. No tuners, no pics, no shoulder strap no chord books. I wish this was spelled out better on the website.
I'm not an expert but it seems to be really well made. The strings stay in realitively good tune. I had a really cheap guitar when I was young and it was always out of tune. With this one you can pick it up the next day and it is still pretty in tune.
Really great price for a good guitar it is only a little more than you would pay at Walmart but it is a lot higher quality guitar.

Epi DR90 value at a price with comparison !

By Earthlyangels

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition DR-90 Acoustic Guitar:

Exept for marginal tuners, it's a lot of axe for little $. As a first guitar or a 'beater', it's amazing!
The tuners are adequate; no more. The build quality is good (Indonesia) and the finishing is error-free. No finish runs or buildup. Attractive wood grain and cut in the back and sides of the one I played. Top was nice cosmetically. It's an ienxpensive guitar that is not built cheaply and does look good
8 here because the tuners are inexpensive tuners !
But wait: the one I played sounded pretty good for a cheap guitar.
Set up was almost perfect! I look for 3/32 " and 1/16 " at fret 12 for the bass and treble E strings, respectively. And it was dead on! And the nut slots were cut almost perfectly to depth. A factory guitar that needs no adjustment but 1/8 turn to let in a touch more neck relief is unheard of! At this price, it's insane!
Ths sound is not fantastic, but good enough for stage play as an amateur. The build and finish are quite good for any price. And the action was crazy good. I own the the AJ220SCE (cutaweay dread with NanoFlex by Shadow and it rules the cheap guitars), so I had a good comparison. Both guitars are well worth the money and the better guitar sounds better and has a pickup and is more handsome design and woods.
But a guitar at this price like the DR90 is hard to find.
