OVERVIEW

Outclasses other hollowbody guitars in its price range.

The Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar that outclasses other hollow-body guitars in its price range! World famous for making some of the best and most innovative hollow-body guitars, Epiphone conjures up some of its past with the Emperor Swingster. Starting with the same body and neck as used on their Emperor-II guitar and made famous by the jazz master himself, Joe Pass, Epiphone swings into action and turns it into a serious twangin', rock-a-billy slingin', country flingin' machine! Case sold separately.

Classic Construction with SwingBucker Pickups!
With it's hand-scalloped arched spruce top combined with a laminated arched-back maple body and glued-in 3-piece hard maple neck, the Swingster has what it takes to satisfy any professional's demand for great tone. At the heart of the guitar are Epiphone's SwingBucker pickups and a sophisticated series/parallel electronic switching package. Specially designed for the Swingster, the humbuckers offer no hum performance and feature classic Alnico-V magnets, enamel wire and over-wound coils for the perfect combination of warmth and bite.

Series/Parallel Switching.
Two push/pull Tone controls allow you to change each pickup's output individually from parallel to series wiring creating a palette of useful sounds to tap into ranging from warm humbuckers to "quacky" single-coil type sounds and everything in-between. Of course, any swinging machine needs a vibrato and the Swingster is no exception featuring a Bigsby Licensed B30 with original style "wire" handle as preferred by "Certified Guitar Player" and legend, Chet Atkins.

Loads of Bling
Topping it all off are Epiphone's trademark, multi-bound headstock with the classic mother-of-pearl "vine" inlay, premium gold Grover tuners and a multi-bound, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. And Epiphone stands behind every guitar they make with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and Gibson 24/7/365 Customer Service. If you're ready for a professional guitar with unique features and a killer price tag, swing into a Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale today.

I simply love this guitar. I needed a hollow body guitar be course starting a Rockabilly band, so I looked around in music shops and tried several Gretch guitars - both the very expensive ones, and their cheaper series, and some Guild, and Gibson hollows too. Then my eyes caught this orange Swingster wonder, hanging next, and compared to all the other guitars I have just tried, this Epiphone Swingster felt so right. The neck has a marvelous C shape feel. The strings were perfectly close to the fretboard, which were perfect for my taste. I like it when there is almostly no curve in the middle, and this fretboard was perfectly straight...not bad for a guitar, right out of the box. The overall finish and craftsmanship is stunning....need to say that I bought the guitar, and here, after ½ a year I am getting more and more happy with my Orange guitar wonder. I have plyed several gigs by now, and I have come to use the point of feed back usefully on stage, and I love all the different sounds I can get from these wonderful sounding pickups. I mainly use my Vox AC15, or my eighties Vox v15, and only one pedal - a Carl Martin Repeat box. That`s all I need for playing. The rest of sounds is easily achieved through the diversity of possibilities from the Alnico 5 pickups. Surprisingly it is how well it stays in tune. the only modding I have done is to change the bridge for a rollerbridge...not that the old bridge did not stay in tune, but the saddle sliders had a sharp edge, that cut my hands when playing. And the I have replaced the knobs for four white chickenhead knobs, for better visibility of in which position they are, and it looks really cool. the knob of the 3 position shift switch has been changed also for a white, to make it perfect. I have recognized how much more sound that is coming out of the guitar now, when playing all acoustically, this really amazes me, and just shows that wood is a living material. I love my Swingster immensely :O)

The ONLY issue with this BEAUTIFUL guitar is the 1/4 inch jack falls into the guitar after a few shows. It can't be chalked up to aggressive playing because the strings jump off the bridge if you play this classy guitar too hard. There is a flaw with checking it and re tightening the input as well after every show or practice as it will twist the cables into a knot. There is also no opening to be able to fix this issue (not a bad thing, I knew what I was buying) Just be wary of that 1/4 inch jack and this guitar will do you know wrong!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar:

Awesome
I've been playing this guitar non stop all week and just love it. When I recieved the guitar it had some really crappy strings on it and the fretboard sucked all the oils out of my hands, so I removed the strings and conditioned the fretboard and replaced the strings, lowered the action and it's just awesome now. The pick ups are suprisingly vibrant and the series/parallel feature puts it above a lot guitars that cost 6x what this one cost. I own 46 guitars and this one is amoung the best of them. The emperor is built solid and looks a lot like a Gretsch White Falcon. Check one out.
It'll be around for a long time.
Can't beat it.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar:

Great overall sound, look and quality. Just be gentle with her.
Love the Bigsby, surprisingly ergonomic. Series, parallel switching on the pick-ups is not a big difference in the overall sound.
The pearl finish is so classy, better than I expected, Gold sparkle bindings...very Falconesque.
This guitar can't take agressive playing though, without knocking the strings from the saddles.
It's a fraction of the price of the "White Falcon" that it is undoubtedly, patterned after.

This guitar really looks cool! It plays nice, sounds nice and is set up decently right out of the box.
The headstck is a tad heavy though and the fit and finish where the neck meets the body leaves a little bit to be desired on mine.
All and all a good guitar for the price.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar:

I stained the fretboard black ebony which makes it even more beautiful that the rosewood which looked drab to me and took away some of the pizzaz and added a gold pickguard which enhanced the look even more. I sometimes get string buzz and have to roll the particular saddle under the string to get it to stop, but this is occassional and I can fix it quickly. I shouldn't have to mess with it though... hence only 4 stars.
Overall, great guitar. I use it all the time in performance and recording. It stays suprisingly in tune better than many other guitars withn bigsbys which is a common issue and this bigsby is sensitive and easy to use.
      I love it. Great price!

No faults found with this guitar. Not wild about gold hardware but with the great price I got on the Royale, I don't care! I all I had to do was put on new strings (11's), set the string height and adjust the intonation. Beautiful guitar that is a blast to play with the seriel/parallel switching! BTW, the Epiphone Emperor case fits mine just fine with the chet bar despite some complaints I read on the internet.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar:

Absolutely wonderful. Full tone, fhole body excellent. String tension and height wonderful. The Chet Atkins Bigsby tremolo is right on. It has added flair and quality to the regular Bigsby arm. I played an old Silvertone growing up. Beautiful instrument, wasn't sure i wanted white but at the price was right. Fretboard beats all in way as frets are high enough to fingertap, smooth fretboard for a rosewood, nice ! I was so afraid I wouldn't like this instrument in the lag time between when I ordered it and got it that I had already made plans to trade it in for another but I played it tuned right up and played it and played around on it and in half an hour I was happy with it as I could ever be. The Bigbsy arm tremolo was real fun toy for the instrument. I hadn't really played with a tremolo since I was a kid. I am sure this has as much flare as any floyd rose on any hardtail instrument. It was great. I absolutely recommend this guitar especially for the buck you are dropping to get it. The hollowbody and bigsby tremolo as a combination offer something straight up distinguished in it's own taste. I am going to go show my buddies at the pawn shop and a music store this thing and they are gonna love it. Get one ! and I am a real customer not some hack trying to get you to buy my product. This thing made me laugh like a child again about playing guitar when I felt down and out and wondering if I should care about anything. It was great.

Awesome guitar. Flawless craftsmanship as well as perfect sparkling tone. A little heavy for a full hollow body, but still weighs in the 7.6 pound range. I have owned many hi end guitars, this is as nice or nicer than most! I am very impressed with Epiphone.

                I would definitely recommend.
Excellent tonal varieties with pickups (despite not being that hot), especially when using Series / Parallel switching.
It seems like more care was taken with build and set up having come out of their Custom Shop in Indonesia (not always the case with Chinese builds).
I got this for a great deal. I think it's still a good deal at regular pricing as well.

I loved this Guitar as soon as I looked at it, but I liked it even more after I started playing it. The action was good right out of the box, no issues with the electronics. I might go ahead and replace the saddle with a roller, and change the factory issue strings with another brand . I really like this Guitar, and I got it at a great price. Not a Taylor, or a Gibson, but sounds just as good, and for the money, you will not go wrong!!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar:

God Rest Chris Squire's soul. He was a great musician. So I have owned it a month or so and played it less often than I have other times when I have had more time. Making money hand over fist I have had to work hard so I haven't sat with the guitar through the last month as I normally would have sat with a guitar of any kind. Sold my strat to get the money for it and am glad I did. Feels and sounds great even not plugged in. The chet atkins whammy is great, better than regular bigsby I played when I was 14. Plays just like an acoustic should with low action. The particular problem I had at first was my finger picking was so hard on the guitar I would occasionally pull a string off the bridge and out of the ferral. I have since played lighter and knowing this can play softer and had it less often to seldom. The last week I haven't played been so busy and it seems like forever as I usually pick it up at least three times a week. Other than the string ferrals allowing the string to be pulled off the guitar this is well worth the money. Wish a case was more easy to find. Anyway I bought it on sale for under 500 and would buy it at 750. It is a great guitar. Fun the chet atkins bigsby is FUN. Wasn't sure if the string ferrals were going to be a problem but it works just fine. I just had to lighten up on my fingers plucking the strings knowing it had the limitation.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Emperor Swingster Royale Electric Guitar:

The ONLY issue with this BEAUTIFUL guitar is the 1/4 inch jack falls into the guitar after a few shows. It can't be chalked up to aggressive playing because the strings jump off the bridge if you play this classy guitar too hard. There is a flaw with checking it and re tightening the input as well after every show or practice as it will twist the cables into a knot. There is also no opening to be able to fix this issue (not a bad thing, I knew what I was buying) Just be wary of that 1/4 inch jack and this guitar will do you know wrong!
