OVERVIEW

The classic shape and bell-like tone of Gibson's ES series.

First introduced in the late '50s, the ES series became an instant rock classic, bringing the feel and look of an archtop to a generation of players who had grown up playing solid body guitars like the Les Paul. The ES-335, the first in the ES series, was an instant success. Now Epiphone introduces the ES-335 PRO - an instrument with its roots firmly planted in the classic era when Epiphone's Kalamazoo factory was producing rock's most legendary instruments.

Featuring an ES-style body with Alnico Classic PRO humbucker pickups, the new ES-335 PRO semi-hollowbody from Epiphone turns back the clock while breaking new ground in sound and style. Other classic features include a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for incredible sustain, Wilkinson vintage-style tuning machines, and a rosewood fretboard adorned with small block inlay. Case sold separately.

Received my beautiful ES-335 in Natural finish from Musiciansfriend.com in an amazing fast shipping time. Was packaged beautifully. But the true beauty was the guitar I was lucky enough to pull out of the box! This thing just simply inspires you to play with how amazing it looks. The Natural finish is just a pleasure to look at at with its high gloss finish, yet still allowing all the beautilfull wood grain lines and swirls to peer through. The fret board was beautiful with the block inlays and this is one guitar where I can say the back of the guitar is actually just as beautiful as the front. The neck mohagany wood grain is just so warm and beautiful. But the amazing this is this baby sounds as great as it looks!

The alnico pro pups just give that great mellow blues/jazz tone but can also deliver a great growl for classic rock. The coil tap is a wonderful bonus to play with that allows you to get even more sounds out of this wonderful instrument. I have run this guitar for hours clean through my fender amp and with effects pedals and sounds amazing either way.But the best past of this guitar for me is the easy to play neck. The slim taper D design just fits my hand like a glove! The guitar has some size to it being a 335 but one expects that, and I love it. Tuners look vintage and are functional all at the same time.

The quality on the finish was amazing as well. I feel truly fortunate to have gotten such a great guitar. This one will be in my collection till I am long gone from this earth. If your on the fence and always wanted a 335 like myself, don't hesitate this wonderful limited edition offering from Epiphone delivers in EVERY way! Vintage tone, looks, playability. Get one and enjoy!

First guitar came with a shattered neck. Emily at customer service was great. I got the replacement quickly and the UPS return of the broken one was not bad. The inside Epiphone boxes looked more damaged than the outer Musician's Friend shippers. It looks like they might have been damaged coming from China and not from shipping to me. Second inside Epiphone box was damage also, but the guitar seems fine.
I didn't check poor craftsmanship because it plays well. Nice low action. Neck feels great to my hand. Only one string at one fret has some buzz. Hope it will play out or I'll have our local expert adjust it.
The only bad thing is the paint on the edge of the f-holes on both guitars looks like a 3 year old did it, very sloppy. Then they put a beautiful smooth hard clear coat over the top of the sloppy black paint. Even though I like the guitar and it is going to be a user, I can't give it more than 3 stars because of the lack of quality control by Epiphone. The rest of the fit and finish seems fine, so far.
My son, daughter and I have been playing it for over a week now and we all like it.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-335 PRO Electric Guitar:

If your thinking about buying one, think no longer just order it before they stop making these models as they blow the ES Dot model away as far as being the better ES-335 guitar. It actually does look and feel like and sound like a real Gibson model as I've owned and still own the real deals. This is an incredible deal of a great guitar as my hat is off to Epiphone/Gibson for making these so affordable as well as so AWESOME.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-335 PRO Electric Guitar:

At 60 yrs. old and having started out on guitar but switched to bass, I always wanted an ES-335 again that I let get away from me back in the early 70's. I saw this one & read many reviews & took the chance! Maybe I got lucky or Epiphone has in Major way stepped up their game, as mine is a Drop dead Vintage burst 335 out of the box, & was absoublty Perfect!! No Flaws & no need for any tweeks or set up! Just plug, play & a lot of grinning & memories of the old days with my 60's Gibby! Job well done here Epi & MF ! What a bargain & the Epi case for this model is a class act as well! Unless your rich or just have to have the "USA" G-name! You could spend alot more but Why? I've seen Gibsons with quality issues @ times latley, not near as good as this one per price point! IMHO!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-335 PRO Electric Guitar:

After a fret polish, new strings, and a set up this guitar is a steal. Sounds great stock pick ups arent bad at all esp the neck. Takes a little bit to get use to the size but feels amazing after. Neck profile is really comfortable feels real fast. Thing is a blues machine, but it can handle some gain though. The tuners arent bad either, had to smoothe the nut slots out a little but tuning is solid even after bending like crazy. I wish it had the acorn nut truss rod but the neck adjusts just fine. If you are looking to buy one of these or any epiphone you should have in mind that the electronics and hardware wont be super amazing, but they are not horrible. I plan on swapping the pick ups and pots and stuff eventually but its not like I took it out of the box and was disappointed. All in all great guitar defiantly worth the money. If you know how to tweak the set up and adjust the neck, which is not hard at all, I think you will be extremely happy. Plus you feel cool when you strap it on.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-335 PRO Electric Guitar:

Best ES-335 made by Epiphone! This one is an all excel included guitar! Tone, wood quality, finish, action, etc.etc.etc..... But There is only one little thing that the manufacturer have to solve! The potentiometers are weak and when you are playing too hight and turn down the volume it comes too fast cutting the signal sound soo quick and not smoothly as it should be like the the CTS Gibson pots. Besides this IMHO i think is the perfect axe for me. I was looking for the sound of the 1963 Eric Clapton ES335 and this thing really get close to such tone. Believe me, is one of the best guitar you would ever have at an stupip price. Mine is the Ice Tea color. You won't regret it buying this jewel and althought i bought a Gigbag with this axe, i'll buy a hardshell case cause this marvel decerves to be protected like any expensive Gibson guitar!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition ES-335 PRO Electric Guitar:

The pics online do not do this guitar justice. I got my cherry red 335 yesterday and the finish is amazing! Nice wood grain on the top and back, and I love the feel of the neck. I have an Epiphone Casino as well and this 335 puts it to shame! Feels and plays just like the Gibson and Heritage 335 models but for 8 times less money! The Alnico Pro pickups sound pretty good to me so far, but I will probably swap them out for some classic 57s at some point. The coil tapping works fine but seems gimmicky to me. The again, I have plenty of other guitars with "real" single coils if I need that sound. The frets were a little rough at first but after a few minutes of string bending they broke in just fine.

Epiphone has really upped their game the last few years, and Im glad, because Gibson has been really dropping the ball, especially with the new 2015 line. I own Gibsons and I own Epiphones and I have to say that for the money the Epis have been winning out lately over the far more expensive Gibsons, especially the arch tops. They have vastly improved their pickups and electronics too. If you've always wanted a 335 type guitar you will not be disappointed with this purchase!!

When I purchased this guiter I had read all of the reviews so there was a certain perception.already in place. Now after a week of playing, I am still amazed at the quality and feel of this guitar. I own several PRS, Taylors, and a Gibson, and the Epiphone, as of now, hangs right with them.

I've been using Epi's for years. Some have lacked in areas but most have all been good sound instruments. My preference is Sheratons but this one (after I did a set up and put on new strings) is exactly what I expected. The craftsmanship of the construction is sound with no blemishes in the finish. The pups are OK and may get changed some day, but for now I will simply enjoy playing it exactly the way it is.
