Dressed to kill with antique ivory finish and gold hardware.

The Les Paul Custom made it's debut in 1954 after the initial success of the Les Paul Goldtop. Les Paul said he suggested black as the color for the guitar because it looked "classy" and went well with a tuxedo on stage. From that point on, the Les Paul Custom has often been referred to as the "tuxedo" Les Paul. And with it's gold appointments, fully bound body, neck and headstock, and mother-of-pearl inlays the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Blackback is "dressed to kill."

Added Vintage-Vibe.
Often, the original finish over Alpine White guitars aged over time and turned the true white color to an off-white, yellow. Epiphone reproduced this look on the Custom Blackback with it's subtle Antique Ivory color giving you the look of a vintage guitar, today. Also - during the 1970's some LP Customs were painting with contrasting black backs.

Classic humbuckers
Epiphone equips the Limited Edition Les Paul Custom Blackback with classic "open-top" humbuckers featuring authentic Alnico II magnets. Patterned after the original Gibson '57 Classics, these pickups combine Alnico-V magnets with enamel wire to give you a tone that is warm and subtle with full, even response that doesn't hold back when you need that classic humbucker crunch! The bridge pickup is slightly over-wound to give you a little more "crunch" when you need it while still maintaining great clarity and warmth. The combination is a unique, limited edition guitar that sounds great and is sure to attract the attention of both guitarists and collectors.

Tone woods
At the heart of every Les Paul Custom is great tone woods. While all Les Pauls share common design features, the Les Paul Custom differed from the Les Paul Standard in that it's body was solid mahogany without a maple cap. Epiphone's LP Custom Blackback follows that tradition by using a solid, carved mahogany body giving it a slightly mellower tone. Like the originals, attached to the body is a solid mahogany neck with a hand-fitted, glued-in joint for optimum neck-to-body contact and acting almost like one continuous piece of wood. The neck features a very comfortable and fast SlimTaper™ neck profile that has become the most popular profile found on Les Pauls today. The result is a tribute to Les' timeless guitar design with the sound and feel that you can only get from a real Les Paul guitar.

Loaded with premium add-ons!
Other premium features include Epiphone's LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic/stopbar combination for increased sustain and easy string changes, 16:1 ratio Grover machine heads, a 7-layer bound body, a 5-layer bound headstock and a comfortable single-layer bound rosewood fingerboard. To top if off, the Les Paul Custom includes a premium hardshell case to protect your instrument when not in use. And, as with every Epiphone, it features their Limited Lifetime warranty backed by world famous 24/7/365 day Gibson Customer Service.

Features:

This guitar is great! It has a heavy body that allows for a good amount of sustain. The fretboard is easy to get around on and makes soloing easier. There are many different tones you can get out of this guitar just by rolling off the tone and volume knobs. It sounds great and looks great!

Quality:

This guitar came out of the box perfectly set up! I just put a new set of strings on it and pluged her in to my Marshall Class 5 and it sings! The only odd thing is when I first started playing my finger tips were turning black. After I cleaned the guitar and put some Guitar Honey (finger board treatment) on it my fingers no longer turned black haha.

Value:

You can't ask for a better guitar for the price. It came with a nice hardshell case and all of this only for $700!

Overall:

I recomend this product to anyone that wants a nice Les Paul and is on a budget. I have no buyers remorse after playing it for about 7 months. Great guitar and good buy!

Overall it's a nice looking guitar however, I don't really care for  how the volume knobs wobble when turning. [ cheap]. Other than that it's o.k. Also having it shipped by u.p.s sucked. [nightmare].

Features:

This guitar has everything you would expect from a Les Paul. I usually play Blues and classic rock and this girl can do it all. The tone and volume knobs responed well and the tuners hold the tuning without any problems.

Quality:

Even though it is not a Gibson and not built in the USA, the guitar is really well built. I checked the workmanship and the paint job and it is all flawless. I had a Gibson Les Paul Studio and this guitar is a lot heavier (not hollow in the middle.) I am guessing the guitar weights around 13-15 pounds. I like the pick-ups and with them being the "classic" series, it has a nice blusey sound for me.

Value:

I honestly feel that this guitar is better and more beautiful then my Gibson Les Paul Studio was for half the price. This guitar is is a limited Custom so it has all the beauity with the diamond headstock, and a pretty fretboard.  When I went on the Gibson website, they mentioned that only 500 of these would be made.

Overall:

Back in 2010 I had to sale my Gibson Les Paul Studio due to economic times. Since then I really missed having a Les Paul. I decided that I would try an Epiphone because I did not feel right spending the money on another Gibson. I love this guitar. If you can get the chance to get one of these babies, you should!!!

Features:

All of the expected features of a Les Paul guitar are present in this instrument. This includes the fhe playability feel and sounding quality of the electronics, It plays and sounds as good as any Les Paul that I have played over the years.

Quality:

I've been playing this guitar for nearly one month and found it to be of good quality build. Other than a minor adjustment to the intonation of the low E, no fault in the finish or functions could be found. I'm very impressed with the appearance that is certainly not shown in the web photos.

Value:

I believe Epiphone has hit a home run with the introduction of this instrument.

Overall:

I'd rate this instrument a solid 9 of10 due to its satisfaction factor.

A fantastic guitar. Period.

Features:

Features? A standard Les Paul Custom with some extras. Everything you've come to expect.

Quality:

Yes, the build of the guitar is Chinese. Just because it's not an American made guitar doesn't make it a bad guitar. In fact, I prefer it over several Gibsons I have played through the years.

Value:

Vs. the MSRP? It's a steal.

Overall:

This is a fantastic guitar. For the money, you really can't get anything better. Yes, it's Chinese. Yes, it will need a pro set-up to be more playable. In fact, it's a night and day difference. The pickups are excellent clean or overdriven, and the guitar itself is gorgeous. Don't think twice. Any guitar you get that comes in a box isn't going to be perfect. It needs to be set up to meet your specifications and your playing style.
